The affected devices include iPhone 11, XS, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 series. Several iPad Pro models, including 13-inch, 12.9-inch (3rd gen and later), and 11-inch (1st gen and later), are also impacted, along with iPad Air (3rd gen and later), and iPad (7th gen and later) models. To resolve this, Apple has rolled out emergency security updates for iPadOS, iOS, and macOS users. Updates are available for iOS and iPadOS 18.6.2, as well as older models running iPadOS 17.7.10.

macOS Sonoma 14.7.8, macOS Sequoia 15.6.1, and macOS Ventura 13.7.8 users can also access the update. Apple has fixed the flaw through improved bounds checking. While details about any attacks are undisclosed, Apple urges all users to update their devices without delay. Security experts strongly recommend installing the latest software update immediately. Users should go to Settings, then General, and tap Software Update to download and install the newest software.

According to information on the official CERT-IN site, iPhones running OS versions older than 18.6, iPads running older than 17.7.9/18.6, MacBooks running older than Sequoia 15.6, Sonoma 14.7.7, and Ventura 13.7.7, Apple Watches running older than watchOS 11.6, Apple TVs running older than tvOS 18.6, and visionOS running older than 2.6 are all at risk.

If your device is running on any of these older operating systems, be cautious, as security flaws could allow hackers to steal your personal information. They could also take control of your device, bypass security locks, and, most importantly, cause financial damage by breaching the system.

To protect yourself, CERT-IN recommends installing the latest software updates released by Apple, which address the security flaws. Avoid clicking on any suspicious links.

According to their latest security advisory dated 12 March 2025, identified as CIVN-2025-0094, the government research team has disclosed that these vulnerabilities are deemed high-risk and present substantial threats to Apple iPhone, iPad Users.

The risk associated with these vulnerabilities in Apple’s iOS and iPadOS may allow certain malicious applications to cause affected devices to become unresponsive or non-functional until restored.

Cert-In has said that the following Software are Affected

– iOS versions prior to 18.3 (for iPhone XS and later) – iPadOS versions prior to 17.7.3 (for iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2nd generation, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, and iPad 6th generation) – iPadOS versions prior to 18.3 (for iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 7th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later)

Cert-In has said that Darwin notifications are a low-level messaging system within the CoreOS layer, enabling processes to broadcast and receive system-wide event notifications.

The vulnerability arises due to the fact that any iOS application can transmit sensitive system-level Darwin notifications without needing special privileges or entitlements. Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow malicious applications to cause affected devices to become unresponsive or non-functional until restored, it added.

Cert-In has advised that users should Apply appropriate fixes as mentioned in the Apple Security Advisory.

For the first time, Indian users will gain access to Apple’s comprehensive AI suite, featuring enhanced writing tools, image generation, and an upgraded Siri experience. Initially launched in US English with iOS 18 last fall, these features will now be available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPads and Macs equipped with M1 chips or later.

These new languages will be accessible in nearly all regions around the world with the release of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 in April, and developers can start to test these releases now, Apple said in a statement. Apple Intelligence “will soon be available in more languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified) — as well as localised English for Singapore and India,” said the company.

iPhone and iPad Users In EU

With the upcoming software updates, iPhone and iPad users in the EU will have access to Apple Intelligence features for the first time. Apple Intelligence will expand to a new platform in U.S. English with Apple Vision Pro — helping users communicate, collaborate, and express themselves in entirely new ways. Apple Intelligence marks an extraordinary step forward for privacy in AI and is designed to protect users’ privacy at every step. 

It starts with on-device processing, meaning that many of the models that power Apple Intelligence run entirely on the device. For requests that require access to larger models, Private Cloud Compute extends the privacy and security of iPhone into the cloud to unlock even more intelligence. Apple Intelligence will continue to expand with new features in the coming months, including more capabilities for Siri, said the company.

Apple Intelligence In Vision Pro 

Apple Intelligence is also coming to Apple Vision Pro in April. With Apple Intelligence for Vision Pro, users will be able to proofread, rewrite, and summarize text using Writing Tools; compose text from scratch using ChatGPT in Writing Tools; explore new ways to express themselves visually with Image Playground; create the perfect emoji for any conversation with Genmoji; and much more. 

Apple Intelligence will be available in beta on visionOS 2.4 with support for US English. More features and support for additional languages will roll out throughout the year.
