In a resounding endorsement, UP Minister Sanjay Nishad marked nine transformative years of Yogi Adityanath’s governance by listing key achievements that have redefined the state.

Speaking candidly, Nishad affirmed, ‘The Yogi government has honored every electoral pledge.’ The most visible change? A secure atmosphere where fear has no place and crime rates have plummeted. Citizens now repose full faith in the law enforcement machinery, unlike the turbulent earlier days.

Criminals face zero tolerance, with the administration leading the nation in delivering justice. Beyond security, infrastructure has seen unprecedented expansion—roads, railways, and more bear testimony to relentless efforts. ‘We’ve never compromised on development, nor will we,’ Nishad pledged.

In his fisheries portfolio, central aid has enabled direct financial aid to fishermen, fostering family prosperity through well-laid strategies. Empowering women remains central, achievable only through resolute determination.

The sector’s success, including doubled incomes for fishermen, mirrors statewide progress. ‘Look at Uttar Pradesh before 2017 and now—it’s a metamorphosis,’ Nishad observed. This era of fulfillment across domains sets a new standard for governance.

Traffic woes in India’s capital could soon be history, thanks to decisive action by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The Delhi cabinet, under her leadership, has fast-tracked two game-changing elevated corridors totaling over Rs 3,100 crore, targeting chronic bottlenecks in East and South Delhi.

Topping the list is Barapullah Elevated Corridor Phase-III, approved at Rs 1,635.03 crore. This extension over the Barapullah drain from Sarai Kale Khan to Mayur Vihar creates a direct, signal-free path to AIIMS. Daily commuters—numbering in lakhs—stand to save hours, with ripple benefits decongesting high-pressure spots like Ring Road and NH-24.

Gupta highlighted accountability measures, noting the project was referred to the Anti-Corruption Branch to investigate prior delays. ‘No more excuses; we’re delivering with clear finances and timelines,’ she stated. Completion is eyed for mid-2026.

The second pillar, MB Road’s six-lane elevated road and underpasses from Saket G-Block to Pul Prahladpur (Rs 1,471.14 crore), rolls out in phases. Phase one delivers a multi-level marvel: elevated flyover, underpasses at key junctions, and BRT linkages. Phase two elevates 2.48 km over metro tunnels from Maa Anandmayee Marg.

This artery, vital for Saket to Badarpur traffic, has been a jam hotspot for years. Post-completion, expect smoother sails through Ambedkar Nagar, Khanpur, and beyond, slashing travel times significantly.

PWD has been tasked with aligning leftover segments, paving the way for a fully optimized MB Road.

Aligning with national ambitions, these initiatives embody ‘Viksit Delhi’—modern infrastructure fostering efficiency and citizen convenience. Gupta’s government vows rapid, transparent execution, leaving behind the paralysis of past administrations to propel Delhi into a world-class mobility era.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked a historic moment for the Ladakh Buddha Vihar area in Civil Lines by inaugurating the foundation stone of a new footover bridge. Spanning from the vihar to the bustling Monastery Market, the structure fulfills a demand echoed by residents for over a decade amid hazardous traffic conditions.

‘Today’s event is joyous because we’re turning years of struggle into reality,’ declared Gupta. She criticized past governments for failing to act despite numerous petitions. Her administration, however, prioritized the project, securing permissions rapidly. The CM assured completion in approximately six months, promising smoother, safer crossings that will simplify everyday life.

Gupta portrayed Delhi as India’s vibrant mosaic, where Ladakhi families have integrated seamlessly. ‘They’ve embraced Delhi as their own, and we must reciprocate with essential amenities tailored to their needs,’ she noted. The bridge’s unique design draws inspiration from Ladakh’s rich traditions, fostering a sense of cultural continuity.

Ladakh BJP state president Tashi Gyaltsen expressed gratitude, calling it a game-changer for the community. ‘After years of advocacy, this bridge will enhance safety and connectivity,’ he said.

As Delhi races towards smarter urban solutions, projects like this highlight responsive governance, blending practicality with cultural sensitivity to uplift migrant communities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take center stage Friday morning, delivering a virtual address at the inaugural post-budget webinar focused on ‘Technology, Reforms, and Finance for a Developed India.’ This comes hot on the heels of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s ambitious 2026-27 budget presentation.

Stakeholders from across sectors—industry, finance, markets, government, regulators, and academia—will converge to deliberate on public capex, infrastructure push, banking and financial reforms, robust capital markets, and taxpayer-friendly reforms. The goal? Translate budget visions into actionable strategies.

This webinar launches a series drawing lessons from previous budgets and soliciting feedback to ensure effective rollout of announcements. It emphasizes leveraging real-world experiences from diverse participants to optimize outcomes for FY 2026-27.

Sitharaman’s budget earmarks Rs 12.2 lakh crore for capital spending, targeting massive infrastructure leaps in roads, ports, rails, and energy. An Infrastructure Risk Development Fund adds momentum to flagship projects, while incentives aim to supercharge manufacturing in seven key areas and elevate MSMEs.

Maintaining fiscal discipline, the government eyes a fiscal deficit of 4.3% of GDP, down from 4.4% this year. Sitharaman highlighted the delicate balance of sustaining growth momentum with prudent public finances amid global integration efforts to boost exports and FDI.

PM Modi’s participation underscores the administration’s resolve to foster collaborative implementation. Expect insights on navigating reforms, harnessing technology, and financing the path to Viksit Bharat, making this more than a discussion—it’s a roadmap for India’s future prosperity.

A landmark report has spotlighted 30 cities across India as high-potential hotspots for industrial and warehousing growth, setting the stage for unprecedented infrastructure boosts. Released Thursday, the analysis underscores how these locations are primed for explosive development thanks to enhanced connectivity, manufacturing booms, and policy tailwinds.

Colliers, a leading real estate consultancy, categorizes eight as established prime hubs and 22 as promising emerging and new markets. The hotspots were pinpointed using government industrial hub declarations alongside a proprietary framework evaluating five critical standards and major infra projects.

Top factors include seamless access to freight corridors, planned smart cities, multi-modal logistics parks, maritime expansions, aviation upgrades, and mega textile parks. Together, they form a robust ecosystem for industrial acceleration.

With manufacturing accounting for 17% of GDP today and forecasted to hit 25% by 2035, the warehousing sector is experiencing a renaissance. Demand for state-of-the-art facilities is skyrocketing, bolstered by institutional capital pouring in.

‘Expansions in corridors, MMLPs, smart cities, and airport/port projects will drive the sector’s next growth phase,’ noted Vijay Ganesh, Colliers India’s MD for Industrial and Logistics. The latest budget amplifies this with emphasis on manufacturing scale-up and equitable growth distribution.

Allocations of Rs 5,000 crore per sector for CERs, plus thrusts in electronics, semiconductors, life sciences, chemicals, rare earths, and textiles, will fortify long-term warehousing in prime areas and unlock opportunities in up-and-comers.

Spanning all regions, the hotspots promote nationwide prosperity. Prime hubs will mature further, gobbling up capacity with demand surpassing 50 million sq ft by 2030. Emerging ones will surge via corridors and parks, while nascent hubs build momentum through infra and policy alignment. India’s logistics landscape is evolving rapidly.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made history in Meerut by launching the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and the city’s new metro line simultaneously—a feat never before achieved in India. Speaking at…

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made history in Meerut by launching the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and the city’s new metro line simultaneously—a feat never before achieved in India. Speaking at the event, he positioned this development as a powerhouse for Viksit Uttar Pradesh and Viksit Bharat, boosting connectivity to unprecedented levels.

The Prime Minister’s rally address painted a vivid picture of integrated transport: metros zipping through city streets while rapid rails bridge urban clusters. This dual launch from one venue symbolizes India’s leap into modern, efficient public transit.

On X, PM Modi shared striking images from his visit, declaring the day pivotal for ultra-modern infrastructure growth. He took pride in handing over the full Delhi-Meerut corridor to the public, vowing unwavering dedication to easing citizens’ journeys. The Meerut Metro, he added, will simplify life for locals immensely.

Taking a metro ride himself, Modi chatted with schoolchildren, later posting snapshots that captured the infectious excitement. The passion of Meerut’s people for development projects left him invigorated.

Slamming past delays, PM Modi asserted that his administration finishes what it starts—evidenced by his personal involvement from inception to inauguration. Metro expansion has surged from five cities pre-2014 to more than 25 today, crowning India with the third-largest global network.

Innovation shines in the project’s multimodal hubs at key stations, uniting rail, metro, and buses. Namo Bharat and metro services will operate on shared infrastructure, enabling fluid transitions for commuters heading downtown or to the capital.

Families stand to benefit hugely, with reduced reliance on Delhi rentals for jobs or education. This corridor isn’t just tracks and trains; it’s a lifeline reshaping regional economies and daily lives, propelling India forward.

Bhubaneswar buzzed with anticipation as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi rolled out the 2026-27 state budget amounting to ₹3.10 lakh crore, a testament to the government’s focus on farmer welfare, robust infrastructure, and cutting-edge technology. Delivered on Friday, this spending plan marks a pivotal shift towards inclusive development.

Holding dual roles as CM and Finance Minister, Majhi emphasized speeding up infrastructure to global standards, skilling the youth, leveraging AI for higher productivity, promoting varied industries, and driving growth that leaves no one behind—especially women and vulnerable groups.

Anchored in six key pillars: People First, Rural Empowerment, Prosperity for All, Our Heritage Our Pride, Technology Leading the Way, and Governance Centered on Citizens, the budget elevates program spending to ₹1,80,000 crore—58% of the total.

With capital outlay at ₹72,100 crore (6.5% GSDP, 23.3% budget), Odisha leads major states in capital investment share. Prudent fiscal management shows revenue surplus at 3% GSDP and deficit at 3.5% DSDP, adhering strictly to FRBM guidelines.

Farmers stand to gain big with ₹42,492 crore for agriculture (up 12.3%), featuring ‘Samriddha Krishak Yojana’ at ₹6,088 crore guaranteeing ₹3,100/quintal for paddy. A ₹100 crore revolving fund and ₹5,000 crore for prompt payments will streamline procurement and instill confidence.

₹17,855 crore targets irrigation upgrades, flood management, and efficient water use. Broader allocations cover public health (₹23,182 crore), education (₹42,565 crore), women & child schemes (₹18,957 crore), social security (₹25,208 crore), urban projects (₹10,738 crore), and rural employment mission (₹5,575 crore).

Sixteen fresh initiatives shine bright: Puri’s ₹1,000 crore Jagannath Centre, World Tourism Centre, Kanya Sumangal Yojana with ₹20,000 girl-child savings, Smart City Mission (₹100 crore), and AI Mission (₹23 crore). As Odisha eyes a brighter future, this budget promises tangible progress for every citizen.

In a major boost to road infrastructure, Meghalaya has disbursed more than ₹268 crore as land acquisition compensation for national highway works in the Garo Hills districts, Deputy Chief Minister Preston Tinsong informed the assembly.

The payouts reached 2,414 affected families across North and East Garo Hills. Breaking it down, North Garo Hills saw 187 recipients get ₹43.96 lakh, dwarfed by the ₹225.13 crore handed to 2,227 individuals in East Garo Hills.

These funds address displacements of property, structures, vegetation, and agricultural produce essential for the ambitious highway upgrades. With most claims settled, the project baton has passed to NHIDCL, signaling green lights for accelerated construction.

Kharkutta MLA Rupert Momin highlighted success stories of families reinvesting in new properties but flagged gaps for those with legitimate papers yet excluded. Tinsong responded confidently: nearly 94% completion rate, only four cases lingering in North Garo Hills—three in arbitration, one mired in internal disputes.

Landowners unhappy with valuations can seek redress via formal petitions, to be adjudicated by government-appointed arbitrators. As Meghalaya races towards better highways, this compensation framework exemplifies proactive governance, minimizing delays and fostering regional development.
