The arrival of Gudi Padwa ushers in the Marathi New Year with promises of prosperity and positive change, a time when celebrities like Indira Krishnan and Sharad Kelkar remind us of our cultural heritage’s enduring value. In candid conversations, the actors from popular Zee TV serials discussed how traditions fuel personal growth and family bonds.

Playing the fierce Durgaavati in ‘Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan,’ Indira Krishnan sees profound wisdom in festival rituals. ‘Indian traditions embed life lessons in every celebration,’ she explained. ‘The Gudi symbolizes victory over adversity, urging us to face challenges head-on and emerge stronger.’

For Indira, the festival is deeply personal. ‘It mirrors my life’s ups and downs, teaching me to greet each day with renewed vigor and thankfulness. No matter the obstacles, positivity paves the way forward.’ Her message for the day: May Gudi Padwa bring peace and abundance to all, reinforcing the need for unwavering optimism.

Sharad Kelkar, captivating viewers in ‘Tum Se Tum Tak,’ treats Gudi Padwa as more than festivity—it’s a reset button. ‘Busy as I am, I prioritize this day to reconnect with loved ones and heritage,’ he noted. ‘Modern life pulls us away from roots, but such occasions restore balance and serenity.’

Advocating for cultural continuity, Sharad said, ‘We must instill these traditions in younger generations so they appreciate their legacy. Gudi Padwa instills resolve for fresh starts, ensuring emotional steadiness.’ As fireworks light up the sky and families gather, these stars’ words resonate, celebrating continuity in a changing world.

As Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, Cheti Chand, Eid, and Chaitra Navratri dawn simultaneously, actor Sunil Lahri delivers a powerful reminder of India’s unbreakable spirit. From Mumbai, the Ramayan star shared an Instagram video wishing compatriots joy and stressing communal harmony amid these vibrant observances.

‘Diverse festivals light up our land today,’ Lahri noted in the clip. Gudi Padwa fills Maharashtra with triumphant banners and festive meals marking agricultural bounty. Ugadi ushers Telugu and Kannada New Year with bittersweet preparations echoing life’s cycles. Sindhis process for Cheti Chand, birthday of their savior Jhulelal. Nationwide Eid festivities blend with Navratri’s austere worship of Durga’s forms.

What sets India apart? Lahri points to collective participation. ‘The world watches in jealousy as we unite in diversity,’ he declared. Malicious attempts to sow division must fail, he implored. Instead, embrace mutual respect, amplify affection, and safeguard brotherhood.

Captioning his post, Lahri wrote: ‘Celebrating myriad festivals in our unique ways—that’s unity in diversity. Heartiest wishes to all.’

Deep dive into traditions: Gudi Padwa’s symbolic flag defies evil, promising victory. Ugadi’s lore ties to Brahma’s cosmic creation. Cheti Chand’s processions invoke divine protection from floods. Navratri’s rituals culminate in Dussehra, while Eid honors fasting’s end with prayers and sweets.

In an era of polarization, Lahri’s words inspire. India’s festival mosaic not only preserves heritage but showcases resilience, making our shared joy a global envy and a bulwark against fragmentation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to diverse regions of India with tailored greetings for their regional New Year festivities—Chaitra Navratri in the north, Ugadi in the south, and Gudi…

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to diverse regions of India with tailored greetings for their regional New Year festivities—Chaitra Navratri in the north, Ugadi in the south, and Gudi Padwa in the west—delivering a powerful message of ‘unity in diversity’ amid the spring celebrations.

In his letters to residents of northern and central states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi, PM Modi warmly wished everyone on Chaitra Navratri and Hindu New Year. He elaborated on the cosmic importance of this day, initiating Yugabda 5128 and Vikram Samvat 2083 in India’s venerable calendar.

The festival, he explained, embodies Shakti through nine days of rigorous sadhana, where worshipers honor the goddess’s diverse manifestations. Drawing from ancient texts, PM Modi invoked ‘Ekoham Bahusyam’ to illustrate how one essence manifests in many, fostering India’s pluralistic democracy and cultural harmony.

Shifting south, his Ugadi message to Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana painted a vivid picture of spring’s bounty: fragrant blooms, fresh produce signaling vitality, and farmers’ optimistic sowing season. The festival’s signature dish blending sweet and sour reminds us to face life’s ups and downs resiliently.

PM Modi hoped Ugadi ushers in wellness and triumphs for all. For Maharashtra and Goa, Gudi Padwa evoked images of towering gudis fluttering in victory—symbols of good over evil, prosperity, and hope. Linked to nature’s rebirth, these rites gain added relevance in India’s journey toward progress and atmanirbharta.

Across letters, Modi’s tone blended reverence for tradition with forward-looking optimism, reinforcing how festivals bridge generations and regions, embodying India’s unbreakable spirit of oneness.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again demonstrated his deep connect with India’s cultural mosaic by sending warm wishes on Cheti Chand and Sajibu Cheiraoba. Posted from New Delhi on March 19, his messages emphasized themes of unity, prosperity, and new beginnings as these regional New Year celebrations unfold.

Addressing the Sindhi diaspora on Cheti Chand, PM Modi expressed, ‘Heartiest greetings on this holy occasion. I pray the year ahead is filled with goodness for you all.’ He highlighted how the festival, dedicated to Lord Jhulelal’s jayanti, should spread cheer, realize dreams, and bolster unity, with blessings of peace and abundance.

This vibrant festival involves elaborate processions called ‘Jhulelal Jagran,’ where devotees carry illuminated palanquins of the deity through streets, accompanied by music and dances. It stands for victory of righteousness and the blossoming of spring.

Turning to Manipur, the PM’s Sajibu Cheiraoba message read, ‘Best wishes to everyone on Sajibu Cheiraoba. Let this New Year bring joy, wealth, and triumphs into your lives.’ He hoped for widespread positivity and hope.

For the Meiteis, Sajibu Cheiraoba involves ritualistic bathing in sacred rivers, offerings to Sanamahi the household god, and community feasts that reinforce family ties and cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, in a parallel note, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lt Governor greeted citizens on Navratri, invoking ‘Jai Mata Di’ blessings.

These timely felicitations not only honor minority traditions but also promote national integration, showcasing Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ through festive harmony.

Holi’s joyous waves crashed over India, painting streets in every hue imaginable. In Delhi, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal turned the festival into a political statement, celebrating at Manish Sisodia’s home alongside key party figures on March 4.

Posting snapshots on X, Kejriwal declared, ‘Celebrated an utterly honest Holi today at Manish Sisodia’s with all our party comrades and workers. Their plots and falsehoods haven’t dimmed AAP’s vibrancy—our strength lies in integrity and the people’s faith. Onward with truth and perseverance!’

Atishi, who once helmed Delhi’s administration, chimed in with her own post: ‘Holi at Sisodia’s house today embodied not just colors, but the trust of the masses and our party’s battles. Joining Arvind Kejriwal and everyone, it was clear once more—no scheme can erase our honesty. The people’s belief fuels us.’

Sanjay Singh, a prominent AAP voice, kept it heartfelt: ‘Holi transcends colors; it’s about love, unity, and truth. Wishing everyone a happy Holi filled with happiness, serenity, and abundance.’

This wasn’t mere festivity; it was AAP drawing a line in the sand. Facing legal battles and opposition fire, leaders used Holi to project unbreakable solidarity. Sisodia’s residence became a hub of laughter, colors, and chants of resolve, reminding supporters of the party’s grassroots roots.

Nationwide, politicians mingled with crowds, but AAP’s approach highlighted their narrative of ‘honesty versus conspiracy.’ As colors smeared faces and gujjias were savored, the event reinforced AAP’s commitment to public service amid turmoil, setting the tone for future electoral showdowns.

In a powerful endorsement of cultural unity, Home Minister Amit Shah has proclaimed Makar Sankranti as the ultimate manifestation of ‘One India, Superior India’. His statement, released during the height of the festival, captures the essence of how this harvest celebration unites diverse communities under one cultural canopy.

From the snow-capped hills of the Northeast to the sun-baked plains of Rajasthan, Makar Sankranti is observed with unique customs that reflect India’s rich tapestry. In Maharashtra, it’s tilgul and rangoli; in Punjab, it’s maghi and gur ka halwa. Shah noted, ‘Makar Sankranti has beautifully become the best example of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’

Shah’s message on X (formerly Twitter) wished prosperity and harmony to all Indians, linking the festival’s spirit to the government’s vision for a cohesive nation. He praised how people from all walks of life participate, reinforcing bonds that go beyond linguistic and geographical divides.

This year’s celebrations gained extra significance with community events promoting inter-state cultural exchanges, aligning perfectly with the ‘Ek Bharat’ campaign launched in 2015. Volunteers and local bodies organized kite festivals and feasts, drawing crowds eager to partake in the festivities.

As the sun moves northward—symbolized by the Makar Sankranti transition—Shah’s vision inspires hope for a future where unity in diversity propels India forward. Revelers, young and old, continue to honor the occasion, making it a beacon of national solidarity.
