In a scathing attack, BJP spokesperson Rohan Gupta linked Assam MP Pradip Bordoloi’s shock resignation from Congress to the party’s entrenched ‘darbar’ or courtier culture that’s alienating its top brass. The remarks came during an interaction with IANS in Ahmedabad on March 18.

Gupta recalled a string of similar exits, noting how Congress invariably attacks the departing leaders rather than addressing their concerns. ‘This darbar-driven Congress silences dissent by expulsion,’ he said. ‘Bordoloi’s move underscores a deeper malaise – experienced politicians feel neglected amid high-command aloofness and sycophantic inner circles.’

With decisions bypassing field workers for secretive chambers, the party’s foundations are crumbling, Gupta warned. Loyalists’ voices are muffled, leading to an internal exodus that signals Congress’s impending disintegration. ‘A party distrusted by its own stalwarts can’t inspire public confidence,’ he observed.

On the LPG supply scare fueled by regional conflicts, Gupta praised the government’s steady hand. Despite global fuel spikes, India’s petrol prices remain stable – a feat unmatched worldwide. Opposition’s alarmism, he claimed, prompted a surge in bookings, but the administration acted decisively without fanfare. ‘Public protection is paramount; politics secondary,’ he emphasized.

Optimism flowed as Gupta hailed the ‘Jag Ladki’ tanker’s docking at Gujarat’s Mundra Port. Carrying vital crude under the tricolor, it symbolizes PM Modi’s vision of a self-assured India. Navigating stormy seas, this vessel embodies a nation that prioritizes its people’s needs, forging ahead through every crisis with bold leadership.

In a triumphant declaration, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma positioned his state as India’s pioneering force in direct crude oil production. The catalyst? A significant crude oil discovery in the Namrup-Borhat block, announced Thursday and celebrated across social media.

Sarma’s X post captured the essence: ‘Assam isn’t just known for its glorious history—it’s forging new milestones.’ This 2025 breakthrough catapults Assam into the league of oil-producing states, amplifying its role in the nation’s energy narrative.

Why does this matter? Beyond revenue boosts from royalties, it promises job creation, industrial growth, and infrastructure upgrades. Upper Assam’s traditional oil belts will see renewed vigor, with ripple effects strengthening the entire economy.

Drawing from its legacy—starting with Digboi’s historic well—this discovery adds a modern chapter to Assam’s hydrocarbon saga. Experts hail it as a step toward energy self-reliance, curbing import dependencies amid global uncertainties.

Backed by the government’s investor-friendly policies, including ease-of-doing-business initiatives, Assam is attracting capital into high-potential sectors. Sarma reiterated the state’s blend of heritage and innovation, underscoring its expanding influence in India’s energy domain.

This isn’t merely an oil find; it’s a launchpad for economic vitality, employment opportunities, and long-term prosperity, redefining Assam’s future on the national map.
