As International Women’s Day dawned, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh illuminated the transformative role of women in India’s armed forces. He commended their courage, endurance, and sacrifices as cornerstone elements driving the country’s advancement.

In his message, Singh conveyed warm greetings to all Indian women, portraying their strength and commitment as beacons guiding the nation. The Modi government’s initiatives prioritize female empowerment, unlocking pathways for greater involvement in national development.

Women are surging ahead in every domain, making India robust, Singh noted. Complementing this, a key ophthalmic workshop unfolded at Army’s RR Hospital, a collaboration between AFMS and AIIMS’s eye center. Led by Surgeon V Adm Arti Sarin and Prof Radhika Tandon, discussions tackled retinal issues, fungal infections, and corneal disorders, focusing on innovative therapies.

The Air Force spotlighted women’s inspiring feats, crediting them for societal motivation and national growth. Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar of Western Command extended felicitations, stressing how women’s leadership upholds military ethos. Invoking the ancient verse on venerating women, he linked it to divine prosperity.

From Air Force cockpits to Navy voyages around the world and Army frontlines with high-tech arms, women are integral. Globally, Women’s Day spotlights equality, urging equal access to education, jobs, and leadership for holistic progress. India’s forces exemplify this, with women at the forefront of defense excellence.

As India gears up for its 75th Republic Day, the tri-service float on Kartavya Path promises to be a highlight, vividly recreating ‘Operation Sindoor: Triumph via Unity.’ This elaborate presentation…

As India gears up for its 75th Republic Day, the tri-service float on Kartavya Path promises to be a highlight, vividly recreating ‘Operation Sindoor: Triumph via Unity.’ This elaborate presentation captures the essence of India’s modern warfare philosophy, emphasizing joint operations, indigenous weaponry, and surgical precision as keys to dominance.

In a bold assertion of military evolution, the float narrates how coordinated efforts across services led to the destruction of nine terror bases across the border last year. Operation Sindoor symbolizes Atmanirbhar Bharat’s defense ambitions, proving India’s shift toward a unified, self-sufficient force ready for any challenge.

The narrative unfolds dynamically: the Navy leads with its oceanic supremacy, ensuring no enemy maneuvers go unchecked. The Army follows with the M-777 howitzer’s devastating accuracy, crushing hostile intentions, backed by the Akash system’s vigilant skyward watch.

Central to the display is the doctrine of rapid response and calibrated pressure. Harop drones stealthily dismantle radar networks, paving the way for Rafale’s Scalp missiles to hit terror infrastructure. The drama peaks with BrahMos from Sukhoi jets shattering enemy hangars, affirming deep-strike proficiency.

The finale spotlights the S-400’s extended reach, neutralizing distant threats like early warning aircraft, reinforcing India’s proactive defense posture. Every phase of Operation Sindoor highlights flawless inter-service integration, leveraging real-time intel for low-risk, high-impact missions.

The float unequivocally warns against terrorism’s enablers, promising unrelenting responses. India’s homegrown defenses now lead the pack, bolstered by seamless collaboration and operational excellence. This tableau isn’t merely a parade exhibit—it’s a strategic proclamation that jointness equals victory in India’s arsenal.

Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) is set to introduce a revolutionary defense technology to India: the ARBEL system, a computer-assisted enhancement for rifles and machine guns. This groundbreaking system aims to significantly boost infantry effectiveness by minimizing human error and optimizing fire. ARBEL, developed over nine years, is described as the world’s first fully computerized small arms system. Once integrated, it enables automatic follow-up shots after the initial trigger pull, analyzing operator movements for precise timing and rate of fire. This technology seamlessly fits into AR-15 style rifles and light machine guns. A sophisticated algorithm monitors trigger behavior, identifying when a shot is on target and then executing subsequent rounds with exceptional speed and accuracy. The ARBEL system is compact and modular, featuring a microprocessor, motion sensors, trigger sensor, control unit, and a rechargeable battery. Crucially, it can be retrofitted onto existing firearms, upgrading current arsenals without requiring complete replacement. A key feature highlighted is its reliance on the soldier’s eyesight for target acquisition, bypassing optical sensors that can be unreliable in adverse weather conditions. This ensures the weapon’s operational capabilities are not restricted, unlike other systems that might limit shooting in dynamic combat scenarios. Beyond enhancing conventional accuracy, ARBEL is now being marketed as a potent anti-drone solution. Its high-speed sensors and optimized firing capabilities allow for rapid tracking and neutralization of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Weighing approximately 400 grams, ARBEL provides a lightweight, portable defense against drone threats, negating the need for cumbersome dedicated counter-drone equipment. While not yet deployed in India, IWI’s CEO has expressed confidence in ongoing discussions with Indian defense entities. Upon finalization of a deal, ARBEL is slated for local production under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, integrating into the Indian armed forces. This technology arrives at a critical juncture, given recent drone incursions along India’s borders, offering a vital frontline response capability.

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi underscored the critical role of synergy within India’s armed forces, using ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a prime illustration. Speaking at the commissioning of INS Mahe, a new generation of indigenous shallow-water combatants, Dwivedi emphasized that coordinated capabilities across all domains are paramount for national security. He stated that in the current era of multi-domain operations, India’s capacity for unified action, from the ocean’s depths to the highest mountains, will define its security influence. Operation Sindoor, a targeted military action against terror infrastructure in Pakistan following an attack in April 2025, perfectly exemplified this integrated approach. Dwivedi highlighted how the Army, Navy, and Air Force form a strategic trinity, with jointness and integration as core pillars of the Indian Army’s transformation initiatives. He also acknowledged the Navy’s crucial role in regional and global diplomacy, noting the historical and ongoing collaboration between the Army and Navy in various missions, including disaster relief and amphibious operations. The Army Chief expressed confidence in the Navy’s ambitious expansion plans to become a dominant multi-dimensional force.

India’s top military official has issued a stark warning to Pakistan, signaling that a counter-terrorism operation remains active and that forces are prepared for further action if provoked. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi stated on Friday that India is fully geared up for ‘Operation Sindoor 2.0’. This aggressive stance indicates India’s unwavering resolve against cross-border terrorism. General Dwivedi articulated that the Indian Armed Forces are prepared for a second phase of the operation, emphasizing readiness to retaliate decisively against any “cowardly act” from Pakistan. He highlighted the unified command of India’s defense services, comprising himself, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, as a formidable deterrent. Operation Sindoor, initiated in May as a response to Pakistan-backed terrorism, is still underway, with India dictating its conclusion. The Army Chief confirmed that the operation will cease only when India deems it appropriate, underscoring New Delhi’s control over the timeline and objectives. This direct communication serves as a clear message to Islamabad about the severe consequences of continued hostile actions.

The Indian Armed Forces have commenced Exercise Trishul, a significant tri-service military drill involving the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. This large-scale exercise is currently underway along India’s western border, specifically near the Sir Creek region, and will continue until November 10th. The primary objective of Exercise Trishul is to enhance joint operations and interoperability, showcasing the seamless synergy between the three branches of the military. It aims to achieve integrated operations across varied terrains and mission requirements, demonstrating India’s commitment to border security. This strategic exercise also emphasizes the spirit of Jointness, Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), and Innovation, aligning with the nation’s vision for a future-ready defense force. The drills are designed to ensure the forces are technologically advanced and prepared to deter and win conflicts in complex, multi-domain environments.
Two enterprising scrap dealers from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, have purchased a decommissioned 55-seater Border Security Force (BSF) cargo plane with an ambitious plan: to convert it into a luxurious 5-star hotel. Virendra and Pushpendra Kushwaha, brothers and business partners, acquired the aircraft for approximately Rs 40 lakh. Their vision is to transform the retired plane into a unique accommodation featuring 4-5 rooms, offering guests an unparalleled experience of sleeping in an airplane while remaining grounded.

This innovative concept was inspired by a similar aircraft-turned-restaurant seen in Haryana. Pushpendra Kushwaha explained that they aim to elevate this idea by creating not just a hotel but also a five-star restaurant within the BSF aircraft. The project is set to be located in Ujjain’s Shankarpur area. Beyond the unique lodging, the brothers intend to dedicate the hotel’s theme to the Indian Armed Forces, drawing inspiration from operations like Operation Sindoor. This patriotic theme aims to send a positive message, fostering greater respect and appreciation for the military among visitors.

The news of this unusual venture has rapidly spread across social media, generating significant excitement. Many users have lauded the brothers’ creativity and the patriotic undertones of their business idea. Comparisons to similar airplane-themed hotels in other locations have also surfaced online, highlighting the growing popularity of such unique tourist attractions. Internet users expressed amusement and anticipation, with comments like, “Guess I’ll finally get to sleep on a plane without turbulence waking me up!” The project is widely expected to become a major tourist draw once completed.
