  • COVID-19: 41,195 new infections in India, active cases increase; vaccination crosses 52 crore mark

    NEW DELHI: India logged 41,195 new coronavirus infections in a day taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,20,77,706, while the active cases increased to 3,87,987, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.

    The death toll climbed to 4,29,669 with 490 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    The active cases comprise 1.21 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.45 per cent, the ministry said.

    An increase of 1,636 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    As many as 21,24,953 tests were conducted on Wednesday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 48,73,70,196.

    India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

    It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

    India crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23.

    Meanwhile, the cumulative coronavirus vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed the 52 crore-mark, the Union health ministry said on Wednesday.

    More than 40 lakh (40,02,634) doses were administered on Wednesday, according to the 7 pm provisional report.

    The ministry said 20,58,952 vaccine doses were administered as first dose and 4,30,665 vaccine doses were given as second dose in the age group 18-44 years on Wednesday.

    “Cumulatively, 18,45,43,154 people, in the age group 18-44 years, across states and UTs have received their first dose and 1,34,04,637 received their second dose since the start of phase 3 of the nationwide vaccination drive,” it said.

    Five states–Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh–have administered more than 1 crore cumulative doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the age group 18-44 years.

    Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of Covid vaccine, the ministry stated.

    “On 208th day of the vaccination drive on Wednesday, a total of 40,02,634 vaccine doses were given. A total of 29,07,836 beneficiaries were vaccinated for first dose and 10,94,798 beneficiaries received second dose of the vaccine,” it said, adding that final reports would be completed for the day by Wednesday night.

  • COVID-19: 38,353 new infections in last 24 hours, active cases lowest in 140 days as vaccination tally nears 52 core mark

    NEW DELHI: India saw a single day rise of 38,353 coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,20,36,511, while the active cases have declined to 3,86,351, the lowest in 140 days, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.

    The death toll has climbed to 4,29,179 with 497 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    The active cases comprise 1.21 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands 97.45 per cent, the ministry said.

    A decrease of 2,157 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

    It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

    India crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23.

    The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has reached nearly 52 crore, the Union health ministry said on Tuesday.

    More than 37 lakh (37,76,765) doses have been administered during the day, according to the 7 pm provisional report.

    The ministry said 20,47,733 first doses were administered and 4,05,719 second doses in the age group 18-44 years on Tuesday.

    Cumulatively, 18,20,95,467 people in the age group 18-44 years across states and union territories have received their first dose and 1,29,39,239 their second dose since the start of phase-3 of the vaccination drive.

    Five states — Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh — have administered more than 1 crore cumulative doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the age group 18-44 years, the ministry said.

    Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

    As on day-207 of the vaccination drive (August 10), total 37,76,765 vaccine doses were given.

    Of these, 27,60,199 beneficiaries were vaccinated for first dose and 10,16,566 people received the second dose of vaccine according to the provisional report till 7 PM.

    Final reports would be completed for the day by late night.

    The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level, the statement said.

    More than 2.07 crore balance and unutilised COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states, UTs and private hospitals to be administered, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

    Over 52.56 crore vaccine doses have been provided to states and UTs so far through all sources and a further 48,43,100 doses are in the pipeline.

    Of this, the total consumption including wastage is 51,09,58,562 doses, the ministry said.

    Under the new phase of the universalization of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Centre procures and supplies 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by vaccine manufacturers in the country to states and UTs.

  • COVID-19: India records 35,499 new cases, 447 deaths; active infections reduce

    NEW DELHI: With 35,499 more people testing positive for COVID-19, India’s infection tally now stands at 3,19,69,954, while the death toll climbed to 4,28,309 with 447 fresh fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry on Monday.

    The number of active cases has declined to 4,02,188 which comprise 1.27 per cent of the total infections, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.39 per cent, data updated by the ministry at 8 am showed.

    A decrease of 4,634 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,11,39,457, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, the data stated.

    As many as 13,71,871 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the country on Sunday, taking the total number of such examinations so far to 48,17,67,232.

    The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.59 per cent.

    It has been less than three per cent for the last 14 days, the ministry said, adding that the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.35 per cent.

    Cumulatively, 50.86 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive till Monday morning.

    NEW DELHI: With 39,070 people testing positive for coronavirus infection, India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 3,19,34,455, while the death toll climbed to 4,27,862 with 491 fresh fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

    The active cases have declined to 4,06,822 and comprise 1.27 per cent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.39 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    A decrease of 5,331 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,10, 99,771, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, the data stated.

    Cumulatively 50.68 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive till Sunday morning.

    The ministry said that on Saturday in the age group of 18-44 years, 27,55,447 vaccine doses were administered as the first jabs and 5,08,616 as the second one.

    Cumulatively, 17,54,73,103 people in the age group of 18-44 years across all states and Union Territories have received their first dose and 1,18,08,368 their second dose since the start of phase three of the vaccination drive.

    Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than over crore doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the same age group.

    Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have provided the first dose of vaccine to more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years, the ministry said.

    As on day 204 of the vaccination drive, a total of 50,00,384 vaccine doses was given of which 36,88,660 beneficiaries were vaccinated for the first dose and 13,11,724 received the second dose of vaccine according to the provisional report.

    The final reports would be completed for the day by late night.

    The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level, the ministry underlined.

  • India records 39,097 COVID cases, 546 fatalities in a day; vaccination nears 43 crore mark

    NEW DELHI: India’s tally of COVID-19 infections rose by 39,097 in a day to reach 3,13,32,159, while 546 more people succumbed to the viral disease during the same period taking the death toll to 4,20,016 on Saturday, according to Union Health Ministry data.

    The number of active cases in the country has increased to 4,08,977, accounting for 1.34 per cent of the total caseload while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 97.35 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    An increase of 3,464 cases was recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a day.

    Also, 16,31,266 tests to detect COVID-19 were carried out on Friday, taking the total number of such tests conducted so far in the country to 45,45,70,811, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.40 per cent.

    It has remained below 3 per cent for 33 days in a row.

    The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.22 per cent.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has surged to 3,05,03,166, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, the data stated.

    The total number of Covid vaccine doses administered so far in the country has reached 42.78 crore.

    Nearly 38,87,028 vaccine doses have been administered on Friday, according to the 7 pm provisional report.

    The ministry said 18,09,954 vaccine doses were administered as first dose and 1,92,363 vaccine doses given as second dose in the age group 18-44 years on Friday.

    Cumulatively, 13,52,21,119 persons in the age group 18-44 years across states and union territories have received their first dose and total 57,54,908 have received their second dose since the start of phase-3 of the vaccination drive.

    Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than 1 crore cumulative doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the age group 18-44 years.

    Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated over 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of Covid vaccine, the ministry said.

  • 42,015 new COVID infections in India, 3,998 fresh fatalities after Maharashtra reconciles data

    NEW DELHI: India recorded a single day rise of 3,998 coronavirus fatalities as Maharashtra carried out its 14th Covid data reconciliation exercise, pushing the country’s death toll to 4,18,480, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.

    The country recorded 42,015 new cases taking the total tally to 3,12,16,337.

    The ministry said Maharashtra has carried out reconciliation exercise of Covid data following which the state’s positive case tally has increased by 2,479 while the death tally has increased by 3,509.

    The active cases in the country have increased to 4,07,170 and comprise 1.30 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.36 per cent,the data updated at 8 am showed.

    An increase of 1,040 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    As many as 18,52,140 tests were conducted on Tuesday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 44,91,93,273, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.27 per cent.

    It has been less than three per cent for 30 consecutive days, the ministry said, adding the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.09 per cent.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,03,90,687 and the case fatality rate has increased to 1.34 per cent, the data stated.

    Cumulative vaccine doses administered so far has reached 41.54 crore under the nationwide vaccination drive.

    A total of 4,18,480 deaths have been reported so far in the country including 1,30,753 from Maharashtra, 36,226 from Karnataka, 33,782 from Tamil Nadu, 25,035 from Delhi, 22,737 from Uttar Pradesh, 18,021 from West Bengal and 16,244 from Punjab.

    The ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.

    “Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.

    Meanwhile, India’s cumulative Covid vaccination coverage has surpassed 41 crore-mark, with 31.79 lakh doses administered on Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry said.

    The ministry, in a statement, said 15,03,713 people in the 18-44 age group were given the first dose and 1,36,257 were administered the second dose on Tuesday.

    Cumulatively, 12,92,52,381 beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group across 37 states/UTs have received the first dose and a total 52,11,066 have received the second dose since the start of phase-3 of the vaccination drive.

    Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than one crore doses to the people in the 18-44 age group.

    Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries in this category.

    The ministry said so far, 41,52,25,632 doses have been administered in the country.

  • With 30,093 new infections, daily COVID-19 tally in India lowest in 125 days

    NEW DELHI: India recorded 30,093 new coronavirus infections, the lowest in 125 days, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,11,74,322, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.

    The death toll climbed to 4,14,482 with 374 daily fatalities, the lowest in 111 days, while the active cases have declined to 4,06,130, the lowest in 117 days.

    The active caseload comprises 1.30 per cent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.37 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    A decrease of 15,535 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    As many as 17,92,336 tests were conducted on Monday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 44,73,41,133.

    The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.68 per cent.

  • India records 60,471 new COVID cases, lowest after 75 days; vaccination figures near 26 crore mark

    NEW DELHI: India saw a single day rise of 60,471 new coronavirus infections, the lowest after 75 days, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,95,70,881, while the daily positivity rate declined to 3.45 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.

    The COVID-19 death toll climbed to 3,77,031 with 2,726 fresh deaths, the data updated at 8 am showed

    The active cases further declined to 9,13,378 comprising 3.09 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 95.64 per cent.

    A net decline of 59,780 cases has been recorded in the COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    Also, 17,51,358 tests were conducted on Monday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 38,13,75,984.

    The daily positivity rate dropped to 3.45 per cent.

    It has been less than 5 per cent for 8 consecutive days, the ministry said, adding the weekly positivity rate has declined to 4.39 per cent.

    Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has gone past 25.87 crore, the Union health ministry said on Monday.

    It said 20,99,621 beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group received the first dose, while 1,16,326 got the second dose of the vaccine on Monday.

    Cumulatively, 4,34,35,032 people in the 18-44 age group have received the first dose while 8,33,808 have received the second dose across the country since the start of the third phase of the vaccination drive against the viral disease.

    Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered the first dose of the vaccine to more than 10 lakh beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group each, the ministry said.

    The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has reached 25,87,13,321, according to a provisional report compiled at 7 pm.

    The number includes 1,00,67,641 healthcare workers (HCWs) who have taken the first dose, 69,81,884 HCWs who have received the second dose, 1,68,38,400 frontline workers (FLWs) who have taken the first dose, 88,76,931 FLWs who have got the second dose, 4,34,35,032 and 8,33,808 individuals in the 18-44 age group who have received the first and the second dose respectively.

    Besides, 7,65,48,740 and 1,20,81,922 beneficiaries in the 45-60 age group have been administered the first and the second dose of the vaccine respectively, while 6,29,78,733 and 2,00,70,230 beneficiaries above 60 years of age have taken the first and the second dose respectively.

    As on the 150th day of the vaccination drive (June 14), a total of 35,96,462 vaccine doses were given — 31,84,503 beneficiaries vaccinated for the first dose and 4,11,959 for the second dose — according to the provisional report.

    The final reports for the day would be compiled by late night.

    The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level, the ministry underlined.

    More than 1.40 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories to be administered and over 96,490 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by them within the next three days, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.

    Over 26.68 crore (26,68,36,620) vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union Territories so far through the Government of India and direct state procurement category.

    Of this, the total consumption, including wastage, is 25,27,66,396 doses, the ministry said.

    “More than 1.40 crore (1,40,70,224) Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered. Furthermore, over 96,490 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by them within the next three days,” the ministry said.

    As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the states and UTs by providing them COVID-19 vaccines free of cost.

    In addition, the government has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the states and UTs.

    Vaccination is an integral pillar of the comprehensive strategy of the Government of India for containment and management of the pandemic, along with test, track, treat strategy and Covid-appropriate behaviour.

    Implementation of the liberalised and accelerated phase-3 strategy of Covid-19 vaccination has started from May 1, 2021.

    Under the strategy, in every month 50 per cent of the total Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) cleared vaccine doses of any manufacturer would be procured by the Government of India.

    It would continue to make these doses available to the state governments totally free of cost as was being done earlier, the ministry said.

  • 80,834 fresh COVID cases in India, lowest after 71 days; vaccination tally crosses 25 crore mark

    NEW DELHI: India reported 80,834 fresh COVID-19 cases, the lowest after 71 days, while the daily positivity rate further dropped to 4.25 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

    With the fresh cases, the country’s tally of cases has climbed to 2,94,39,989.

    The COVID-19 death toll climbed to 3,70,384 with 3,303 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    The active cases further declined to 10,26,159 comprising 3.49 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 95.26 per cent.

    A net decline of 54,531 cases has been recorded in the COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    Also 19,20,477 tests were conducted on Saturday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 37,62,32,162 while the daily positivity rate has further dropped to 4.25 per cent .

    It has been less than 10 per cent for 20 consecutive days, the ministry said, adding the weekly positivity rate fell below 5 per cent and was recorded 4.74 per cent.

    The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 2,80,43,446, while the case fatality rate has increased to 1.26 per cent, the data stated.

    Cumulatively, 25,31,95,048 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

    India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

    It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

    India crossed the grim milestone of 2 crore on May 4.

    The 3,303 fresh fatalities include 1,966 from Maharashtra, 374 from Tamil Nadu, 171 from Kerala and 144 from Karnataka.

    A total of 3,70,384 deaths have been reported so far in the country including 1,08,333 from Maharashtra, 32,788 from Karnataka, 29,280 from Tamil Nadu, 24,800 from Delhi, 21,735 from Uttar Pradesh, 16,812 from West Bengal, 15,503 from Punjab and 13,311 from Chhattisgarh.

    The ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.

    “Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.

    In a statement, the ministry said that India has also crossed the “historic landmark” 20 crore — 20,46,01,176 — first dose administration.

    It said that 18,45,201 people in the 18-44 age group received their first dose and 1,12,633 got their second dose of Covid vaccine on Saturday.

    Cumulatively, 4,00,31,646 people across the country have received their first dose and 6,74,499 their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive.

    Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered to more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of 18-44 years age group their first dose of Covid vaccine, the ministry said.

    The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has reached 25,28,78,702, according to a provisional report compiled at 7 pm.

    The number includes 1,00,47,057 healthcare workers (HCWs) who have taken their first dose, 69,62,262 HCWs who have taken their second dose, and 1,67,20,729 frontline workers (FLWs) who have received their first dose, and 88,37,805 FLWs who have taken their second dose.

    Besides, 7,53,56,174 and 1,19,35,606 beneficiaries in the 45-60 age group have been administered the first and the second dose respectively, while 6,24,45,570 and 1,98,67,354 beneficiaries above 60 years of age have taken the first and the second dose respectively.

    As on Day-148 of the vaccination drive on Saturday, a total of 31,67,961 vaccine doses were given with 28,11,307 beneficiaries vaccinated with the first dose and 3,56,654 beneficiaries with the second dose, according to the provisional report till 7 P.M.

    NEW DELHI: India reported 1,14,460 new coronavirus infections, the lowest in 60 days, while the daily positivity rate further dropped to 5.62 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

    With the fresh cases, the total tally of coronavirus cases in the country climbed to 2,88,09,339.

    The COVID-19 death toll climbed to 3,46,759 with 2,677 daily deaths, the lowest in 42 days, while the active cases dropped below 15 lakh, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    A total of 96,982 new cases were recorded in a span of 24 hours on April 6.

    Also, 20,36,311 tests were conducted on Saturday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 36,47,46,522.

    The daily positivity has further declined to 5.62 per cent .

    It has been less than 10 per cent for 13 consecutive days, the ministry said.

    The weekly positivity rate has declined to 6.54 per cent.

    The active cases have reduced to 14,77,799 comprising 5.13 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 93.67 per cent.

    A net decline of 77,449 cases has been recorded in the COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

    Of the total doses administered on Saturday, the ministry said 16,19,504 beneficiaries in the age group 18-44 years received their first dose and 41,058 their second.

    Cumulatively, 2,76,35,937 persons across 37 States/UTs have received their first dose and a total 1,60,406 have received their second since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive on May 1.

    Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered more than 10 lakh beneficiaries in the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.

    The total of 23,10,89,241 doses include 99,62,728 Healthcare Workers (HCWs) who have taken the first dose and 68,53,413 HCWs who have taken the second dose.

    About 1,61,57,437 Frontline Workers (FLWs) received first dose and 86,58,805 FLWs their second.

    In 18-44 years age group, 2,76,35,937 and 1,60,406 have received first and second dose respectively till now.

    Besides, 7,06,41,613 and 1,12,93,868 beneficiaries aged over 45 to 60 years old have been administered the first and second dose respectively.

    As many as 6,05,25,195 and 1,91,99,839 beneficiaries above 60 years have taken the first and second dose.

    “On Day-141 of the vaccination drive (5th June, 2021), a total 31,20,451 vaccine doses were given. As many as 28,70,693 beneficiaries were vaccinated for the 1st dose and 2,49,758 for the second dose of vaccine as per the provisional report till 7 P.M.”

    Final reports would be completed for the day by late Saturday tonight, the Health Ministry said earlier.
