  • These were the top 10 smartphones globally for Q3 2020

The third quarter of the year saw the smartphone market bounce back after the dreadful first and second quarters, with Samsung reclaiming the top spot from Huawei. It also saw Xiaomi emerge as the number three brand globally, passing Apple during this period.

Now, Canalys has revealed the top 10 smartphone models shipped during Q3 2020, and Apple’s iPhone 11 was far and away the number one device during this period. Apple’s 2019 flagship shipped over 16 million units, according to the tracking firm, followed by the iPhone SE 2020 in second place.

It’s worth noting Apple didn’t release the iPhone 12 series in Q3, so all eyes will be on Q4 to see what kind of impact the new phones have on the market.

The top Android phone model for Q3 2020 was the Galaxy A21s in third place, nipping at the iPhone SE’s heels. Samsung’s phone sports a power-efficient processor and a 5,000mAh battery, making for a device that should give you two days of usage. Toss in a ~$200 price tag and a quad rear camera setup, and it seems like the Korean brand struck gold with this device.

  • Samsung May Launch Flagship Galaxy S21 Phone Early to Grab Huawei Share, Say Sources

Samsung may launch its flagship Galaxy S smartphones more than a month earlier than expected in a bid to grab market share from Huawei and fend off competition from Apple, three sources familiar with the matter said.

Huawei once challenged Samsung’s top position in the global smartphone market, but the Chinese rival is in survival mode with US restrictions choking off its supplies of chips used in smartphones and telecom equipment.

South Korean chip industry officials hope Joe Biden’s presidency will ease some of those restrictions, although they are far from certain as they also expect the incoming US administration to maintain a tough stance on China.Samsung is preparing to launch its new Galaxy S21 as early as late January next year, whereas it previously launched its flagship S20 phone in early March this year, the sources said, asking not to be identified because the plan is not public.

The South Korean company shipped 59 percent fewer Galaxy S20 5G series handsets in the United States in the second quarter compared to the previous model’s performance a year earlier, according to research firm Canalys. In contrast, Apple shipped 15 percent more of its flagship iPhone 11 than last year’s best-seller, the iPhone XR.

Samsung, which lost its No.1 position to Huawei in the second quarter, regained the crown in the third thanks in part to the US restrictions on Huawei. A person at one major supplier of smartphone chips said Huawei’s stockpiles were expected to run out some time early next year.

Samsung, however, faces intensifying competition from Chinese rivals like Xiaomi and Oppo, which are expected to take advantage of Huawei’s struggle to retain market share.

Apple also launched its iPhone series in October, about a month later than usual, stepping up competition.

  • 4 smartphones of iPhone 12 series will be launched

Apple may end the suspense tonight with its new iPhone. It is believed that the company will launch the iPhone 12 series at the ‘Hi, Speed’ event to be held today. This event will start at 10:30 PM according to Indian time. It is believed that the new iPhones will come with 5G connectivity. Let us know that Apple has already launched Apple Watch 6 Series, Apple iPad 8th Generation, Apple Fitness Plus Service and Apple One Service at the event on September 15.

Many things like self-driving cars, virtual reality, smart city technology, robots are associated with 5G speed. In such a situation, the new iPhone becomes special in many ways. With the 5G handset, Apple will join the list of companies like Google, Motorola, Samsung, Huawei. All these companies have already launched their 5G smartphones.

According to analyst Ben Stanton of research firm Canalys, only 13% of smartphones with 5G capacity sold in the first half of 2020. At the same time, only 6% of customers will buy the next smartphone with 5G connectivity. According to a report, Apple is not late in making 5G smartphones, as there is no demand for 5G phones on a large scale.

  • Huawei Nails it With The Leica Triple Camera

Huawei recently came up with its much-awaited flagship smartphone, the Huawei P20 Pro. The company extensively marketed the flagship for its never-seen-before camera setup at the back. While most of the flagships only recently upgraded to a dual camera setup at the back of the smartphone for an enhanced photography, Huawei went a step ahead and introduced a Leica triple camera setup at the back of the Huawei P20 Pro. Thanks to this, many claims emerged which stated the setup to be the best smartphone camera to date.

So just how good is the camera on the all-new Huawei P20 Pro? And hows is the overall performance of the smartphone in general? We find out in this review.

    What’s Cool?

To begin with the USP of the smartphone, the Leica triple camera setup on the Huawei P20 Pro comes with a 40-megapixel RGB sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor for enhanced low-light photography. The final result offers almost an unparallel photography. The images are crystal clear, with almost perfect colour accuracy. It is also majorly because of Huawei’s embedded AI in the smartphone. The AI works at almost every level, before clicking the picture, while capturing the image and even afterwards.
