Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, attended the Virat Sanskrit Vidvat-Sammelan held in Raipur on September 7th. During the event, he shared his thoughts on Sanskrit, an ancient language of India. He stated that Sanskrit is the soul of Indian culture, providing a unique identity on the world stage. He emphasized that Sanskrit is the foundation of grammar, philosophy, and science, fostering logical thinking. CM Sai highlighted the relevance and utility of Sanskrit education in the modern era. He noted that the language and its literature are the basis of our heritage, which must be preserved and enhanced. He also mentioned that the conference, along with discussions on the divine language of Sanskrit, is an effort to strengthen Indian culture, values, and the nation. He praised the efforts of Sanskrit Bharati Chhattisgarh and the Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh in preserving and promoting the Sanskrit language. The CM also stated that incorporating Sanskrit in modern education will ensure the intellectual development of students. Sanskrit encompasses a vast repository of texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas, which impart messages of philosophy, science, and life values. He noted that Ayurveda, mathematics, and astrology, as described in the Vedas, remain relevant today and can be subjects of research. He concluded that the principles of Karma, knowledge, and devotion, clearly stated in these texts, can bring peace and balance to modern life, making Sanskrit education as relevant and useful as ever in the modern era. He urged that the youth must be connected with Sanskrit literature to enable them to pass this knowledge to the next generation. He also mentioned that technology can be used to make Sanskrit education attractive and relevant. Solid steps can be taken in this direction with the active participation of Sanskrit scholars and teachers in the state. He called for a resolution through this conference to promote Sanskrit education and connect with the next generation. The Virat Sanskrit Vidvat-Sammelan was organized jointly by Sanskrit Bharati Chhattisgarh and Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh. During the program, CM Sai also released the publicity brochure of Sarayupareen Brahmin Sabha, Chhattisgarh. Addressing the conference, Dr. Dadu Bhai Tripathi, the state president of Sanskrit Bharati, said that there are many pieces of evidence in history that prove that Sanskrit was once prevalent as a common language. He stated that the Chhattisgarhi language has a direct relationship with Sanskrit. He also noted that students from the Sarguja region are receiving Sanskrit education.
