  • Actor Henry Cavill wraps filming on ‘Enola Holmes 2’

    By Express News Service

The sequel of Netflix’s hit film Enola Holmes has been in the making since May, with Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter reprising their roles as Enola Holmes, Sherlock Holmes, and Eudoria Holmes, respectively. Now, Cavill took to Instagram to announce that he has finished filming for the film.

The actor posted a video in which he says, “Today was my last day on Enola Holmes, and the entire day I was thinking about not coming out and doing this run. It was a little dark and a little chilly, and I was convincing myself all day long that those are all good reasons not to run. However, I came out here, I did it, I have loved it, and it feels really, really good. So if you’re sitting at home thinking about not training today, throw those trainers on, get out there, and do it. You won’t regret it.”

Enola Holmes, based on The Enola Holmes Mysteries by Nancy Springer, tells the story of Enola Holmes (Brown) the sister of Sherlock Holmes (Cavill), who follows in her detective brother’s footsteps. The first film followed the plot of the first novel in the series, The Case Of The Missing Marquess, and had Enola searching for her missing mother (played by Helena Bonham Carter).

The plot of the sequel remains unknown. The sequel film will also bring back Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade, Susan Wokoma as Edith, and Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury. David Thewlis, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Hannah Dodd, Abbie Hern, Gabriel Tierney, and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss are the latest additions to the cast of the film.

Writer Jack Thorne and director Harry Bradbeer are also returning for the sequel. Enola Holmes 2 is produced by Legendary in partnership with Netflix. Paige Brown and Brown will produce through their PCMA Productions.

  • Jamie Dornan reveals he lost Superman role to Henry Cavill

    By ANI

WASHINGTON: Actor Jamie Dornan recently revealed that he lost out on the role of Superman to actor Henry Cavill. Despite missing out on the opportunity, Dornan shared that he has met with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and expressed his interest in joining the MCU.

The actor opened up about losing the Superman role and approaching Marvel to star in superhero movies in an interview with The New York Times, reported People magazine.

“I’m more ambitious than I’ve ever let on before,” Dornan said, crediting his drive to becoming a father.

“It’s like a necessity to deliver and provide, very caveman-esque: I must succeed for these precious little people,” he added.

The actor further said, “Also, since my dad died, it’s lit this extra fire within me, this extra burner of wanting to succeed.”

Dornan also reflected on walking the tightrope between being involved in potentially two franchises, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and a possible Marvel or DC movie. The actor admitted he admired Robert Pattinson, a friend of his, for having gracefully segued from ‘Twilight’ to ‘The Batman’.

“I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I feel like him and his people have played it really cleverly,” Dornan said.

“Everything he’s done since Twilight has been really smart and beautifully crafted, and those films aren’t financed on his name had he not been in these movies that made billions of dollars,” he added.

Dornan’s own filmography has included an array of diverse roles since ‘Fifty Shades’ from ‘The Fall’, ‘A Private War’, ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’, ‘Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar’ and, now, ‘Belfast’. ‘Belfast’, written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, is told through the eyes of a young boy growing up in Ireland during the tumultuous late 1960s. Dornan and Caitriona Balfe play the young boy’s parents.

Described as “a poignant story of love, laughter and loss in one boy’s childhood, amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s,” the film tells the story of how the family’s life is changed by the upheaval around them. The family contemplates leaving their home forever amid the “civil war” that’s broken out in the streets.

The movie is based on Branagh’s own experiences growing up in Ireland as a young boy. ‘Belfast’ also stars Judi Dench, Ciaran Hinds, Lewis McAskie and Jude Hill.

  • Henry Cavill addresses ‘social animosity’ towards his personal life: I’m very happy in love

    By PTI
LONDON: Responding to what he termed as “speculation” about his life, Hollywood star Henry Cavill has asked social media users to stop “harming people he cares about most”, including his girlfriend and television executive Natalie Viscuso.

The 38-year-old actor shared a selfie of him with Viscuso, 31, on his Instagram page on Saturday alongside a lengthy caption directed at fans and followers, emphasising that their negative assumptions about his personal and professional partnerships “aren’t true”.

“Dear fans and followers, I wanted to make a wee community announcement,” he began.

“I couldn’t help but notice that there has been some social animosity of late. It’s becoming increasingly prevalent on my feed. There has been lots of, let’s call it speculation for now, about my private life and professional partnerships,” Cavill said.

The fact that he needed to say something, the “Justice League” star continued, was a “bad thing”.

“We are living in an age of social enlightenment. More and more, people are realizing that their views may have been blinkered and that they need to expand them to encompass others.”

However, he did not go into specifics about the speculation he was addressing.

“So, to you out there who are expressing your disdain and showing your displeasure through a surprising variety of ways, it’s time to stop. I know it can be fun to speculate, to gossip, and to dive into our own personal echo chambers on the internet, but your ‘passion’ is misplaced, and it causes harm to the people I care about most,” he said.

Cavill urged people to embrace the age of social enlightenment together and move forward with positivity “I am very happy in love, and in life. I’d be enormously grateful if you were happy with me. If you can’t bring yourself to be happy with me, then at the very least try to do yourself proud and be the best version of yourself,” the actor ended the post, which had disabled comments.

The actor went public with his relationship with Viscuso last month, days after they were spotted on a romantic walk together here.

  • Henry Cavill’s Superman not part of Shazam sequel

    By Express News Service
While it was previously speculated that Henry Cavill’s Superman will be a part of the upcoming Shazam sequel, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, it’s now confirmed the Man of Steel will not be seen in the sequel. The film’s director David F. Sandberg took to Twitter to address the rumours making the rounds.

The tweet read, “Not going to comment on casting rumours for several reasons. One being you can’t be sure about anything until it’s happened. Halfway through shooting Shazam the plan was still for Cavill to be in it.

Scoopers could have scooped that and been right at the time but wrong in the end.” He also added, “Though I can confirm with 90 per cent certainty that Shazam will appear in Shazam 2. So if you’re a fan of that character you might enjoy Shazam 2.”
