  • Season 2 of ‘House of the Dragon’ goes on floors

    Season 2 of the much-celebrated HBO series House of the Dragon has commenced shooting. While announcing the news, the makers shared a photo of the Iron Thrones in the Great Hall of the Red Keep with a caption that read, “It’s time to return to King’s Landing. Season 2 of House of the Dragon is now in production.”

    House of the Dragon, which is the prequel to the hit series Game of Thrones, follows the events two centuries before the original. The ten episodes of the prequel’s first season depicted how the House of Targaryen fell into a bitter and brutal civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons — presaging the beginning of the end of the ruling family of Westeros.

    Earlier this month, it was reported that House of the Dragon’s upcoming second season would have eight episodes, two less than the first, hinting at HBO’s plan for a third season. 

    The series, created by authors George RR Martin and Ryan J Condal, based on Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, stars an ensemble cast including Paddy Considine, Emmy D’Arcy Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Olivia Cooke and Fabien Frankel.

    House of the Dragon has Ryan Condal as the co-runner of the series. The series won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Television Series at the 79th Golden Globes. 

    Season 2 of the series aims a release in July 2024.

  • HBO series ‘Succession’ to wrap up with season 4

    The Emmy-winning HBO series Succession will be ending after season 4. Creator and showrunner Jesse Armstrong revealed that season 4 is the series finale. Season four of Succession returns on March 26 on HBO.

    The satirical black comedy-drama series centres on the wealthy Roy family. The first season premiered on June 3, 2018. 

    The showrunner Jesse Armstrong hinted about the end of the season in an article penned in The New Yorker, “there’s a promise in the title of Succession. I’ve never thought this could go on forever. The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From season two, I’ve been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?”. 

    Succession broke out in its first season, earned the Emmy for Best Drama Series for its sophomore run, and followed that up with another win for its third season. 

    The series features an ensemble cast of Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Alan Ruck, Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Friedman, Natalie Gold and Rob Yang.

  • Javon Walton on board The Umbrella Academy Season 3

    It has been revealed that Javon Walton, the child actor best known for playing Ashtray in the HBO series Euphoria, is the latest addition to the cast of The Umbrella Academy’s next season.

    Walton, whose acting credits also include Utopia and The Adam’s Family 2, has confirmed his casting in a recent interview. However, his character is currently under wraps.

    It was recently announced that Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David, and Jake Epstein have been cast to play members of the Sparrow Academy in the show.

  • HBO series adaptation of The Last of Us game adds Nico Parker

    Actor Nico Parker is all set to join HBO’s series adaptation of the popular game The Last of Us. The actor will join the previously announced cast that includes Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey and Gabriel Luna.The series hails from creators Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann.

    Set in a distant future 20 years after the destruction of modern civilization, the story follows a hardened survivor named Joel, who is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old Ellie out of the heavily guarded oppressive quarantine zone. The journey soon becomes brutal and heartbreaking as they have to travel across the States and depend on each other for survival.

    While Pascal, Ramsey, and Luna are set to play Joel, Ellie, and Tommy, respectively, Parker is set to play the role of Joel’s daughter. Jasmila Žbanić and Ali Abbas are set to direct the series, while the pilot episode will be directed by Kantemir Balagov.

    Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, and Naughty Doga are set to produce the TV series. The original video game was developed exclusively for Playstation by Naughty Dog.

    Carolyn Strauss also executive produces along with Naughty Dog president Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions as well as Rose Lam. Druckmann and Mazin will also executive produce the series apart from writing the script.

    Parker’s breakout role came as in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Dumbo, in which she played Colin Farrell’s daughter. The actor will be seen next in Reminiscence, in which she appears opposite her real-life mother, Thandiwe Newton. 

  • Lena Headey to star in HBO’s Watergate series ‘The White House Plumbers’

    LOS ANGELES: “Game of Thrones” star Lena Headey is heading to HBO again for the network’s Watergate series “The White House Plumbers”.

    Headey will join actors Domnhall Gleeson, Woody Harrelson, and Justin Theroux for the limited series, coming from “Veep” executive producers Alex Gregory, Peter Huyck, David Mandel, and Frank Rich.

    “The White House Plumbers” tells the true story of E.Howard Hunt and G.Gordon Liddy, Richard Nixon’s own Watergate schemers, who unintentionally crumbled the presidency they were so desperately trying to preserve, as per Collider.

    Based on public records and Egil and Matthew Krogh’s book “Integrity”, the show will feature Headey as Dorothy Hunt, a mother of four and active CIA asset.

    She must try to hold her family together as she becomes increasingly tangled up in her husband Howard’s messy plots, the website added.

    Headey, best known to fans internationally for her performance as Cersei Lannister on “Game of Thrones”, is also set to appear in AMC’s thriller “Beacon 23” and will provide voice-over work for Kevin Smith’s “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”.
