With West Asia’s brewing storm threatening energy flows worldwide, India’s government is pivoting commercial sectors toward piped natural gas. Urban gas distributors have received clear instructions: prioritize PNG hookups for eateries, hotels, and institutional kitchens to safeguard against supply disruptions.

Incentive schemes from IGL, MGL, GAIL, and BPCL are in full swing, complemented by PNGRB orders to streamline processes and boost outreach efforts. Application-to-connection timelines must shrink, and awareness drives need to intensify. Parallelly, states face calls to speed up CGD project nods.

A 10% bonus on commercial LPG allocations dangles as bait for states committing to sustained PNG adoption. Local governments must now champion network growth, issuing swift PNG links to homes and factories.

Progress is evident with 13,700+ fresh PNG installs and 7,300+ LPG-to-PNG migrations, lightening LPG loads. Supplies remain steady despite global woes, panic orders nosediving sharply. Domestic LPG flows uninterrupted.

Eighteen regions have greenlit extra non-household LPG, channeling half to schools and hospitals. Weekly dispatches hit 11,360 MT recently. Domestic LPG and CNG mobility stay fully stocked, a bulwark against volatility.

The Indian government, through the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has issued an advisory cautioning against the use of WhatsApp Web on office laptops. The advisory highlights the potential risks associated with accessing personal chats and files on work devices, emphasizing the vulnerability of sensitive information. The government suggests that using WhatsApp Web on office systems can expose personal data to the company’s administrators and IT teams. This access could be facilitated through various means, including malware, screen-monitoring software, and browser hijacking. This warning comes amid growing cybersecurity concerns in the workplace. The Information Security Awareness Team has shed light on the risks associated with using messaging platforms on corporate devices, suggesting that WhatsApp Web is considered a potential security risk, acting as an entry point for malware and phishing attacks that could jeopardize the entire network. The advisory recommends logging out after using WhatsApp Web and exercising caution when clicking on links or opening attachments from unknown sources.
