  • Gerard Butler almost killed Hilary Swank on ‘P.S. I Love You’ sets, says he cut her open

    By PTI

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood star Gerard Butler has revealed that he accidentally slashed co-star Hilary Swank’s head during the shoot of their 2007 romantic drama “P.S. I Love You.”

Directed by Richard LaGravenese from a screenplay he penned with Steven Rogers, “P.S. I Love You” was based on the 2004 novel of the same name by Cecelia Ahern.

It featured Butler and Swank in the lead roles of Gerry and Holly.

While filming one of the scenes in which Butler had to dance in suspenders, the actor said he hurt Swank badly in her head and “cut her open.”

“I had to dance like an idiot in the suspenders.

At one point, the clip, which was a crocodile clip, got stuck in the television as I’m crawling towards her and she was right in front of me and she was laughing hysterically.

I had to ping it, and it would go past my face. And this time I’m crawling towards the bed. It gets stuck.

It releases, flies over my head, hits her in the head, and slashes her head.

I cut her open,” the 53-year-old actor said, adding that the clip was “so dangerous” that the camera crew devised plastic covers as protection.

Swank, 43, was immediately rushed to the hospital.

“Imagine a studio, and in three seconds, everybody’s gone, and I’m just sitting there in my boxer shorts and my boots and a pair of socks and I just started crying.

‘I just scarred Hilary Swank!’ I almost took her eye out and I just made a fool of myself for two days and this is what I have to show for it.

She’s off to the hospital,” Butler said during a recent appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

The Scottish actor said Swank has forgiven him for whatever happened that day on the sets of the film.

  • ‘Greenland’ sequel in development; Gerard Buttler, Morena Baccarin to reprise roles

    By Express News Service
A sequel to 2020’s Greenland is reportedly already in the works, with leads Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin set to reprise their roles from the first instalment. Director Ric Roman Waugh is also reported to be returning as director for the second part, as is writer Chris Sparling.

In the first Greenland movie, Butler and Baccarin star as structural engineer John Garrity and his wife, Allison, whose family’s lives turn upside down by the sudden redirecting of a dangerous comet set to fall on Earth.

In the upcoming sequel, the Garrity family must leave their Greenland bunker behind and navigate across a frozen landscape to find a new safe place.

Apart from the Greenland franchise, Gerard Butler was last seen in London Has Fallen in 2017. Morena Baccarin, on the other hand, has films like The Good House and Last Looks in the pipeline.

  • Want to produce films to have some control, says Actor Gerard Butler

    By PTI
LONDON: Hollywood star Gerard Butler says he enjoyed serving as a producer on the disaster action film “Greenland” as the stint allowed him to have control in shaping the film.

Butler also starred in the Ric Roman Waugh directorial alongside “Deadpool” star Morena Baccarin.

“Greenland”, which released last year, follows a family’s fight for survival in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster.

As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, the family’s trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.

Though he is known for big-budget studio tentpoles like “Gods of Egypt” and “Geostorm”, Butler said he would like to further lend support to independent films.

“I’m a control freak! As an actor, when you’re coming up, you beg for roles, and you’re lucky to get one and then you suddenly find yourself in a position where movies are being made, because you’re involved.

“So if that’s the case, you say, ‘I want to produce it, I want to have some control, I want to help shape this film.’ Not the studio movies, like ‘Gods of Egypt’ or ‘Geostorm’. But all the other ones, in the independent world,” Butler told Total Film magazine.

Chris Sparling has penned the script for “Greenland”, produced by Thunder Road Films.

“I get a chance to develop, be involved with script, choose the director. It’s more responsibility, but you’re more involved in the process. And I love that,” Butler added.

“Greenland”, which hails from STX Films, was among the handful of movies that released in the US theatres after the coronavirus-forced shutdown ended.
