Amid rising concerns over fuel availability, the Indian government has dismissed rumors of gas shortages. Domestic CNG and piped natural gas (PNG) supplies are proceeding without interruption, as confirmed by senior officials on Monday.

Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary in the petroleum ministry, highlighted that fuel outlets dispensing CNG and household PNG networks are fully operational. Enforcement drives against hoarding have intensified, with inspections underway in several regions to ensure fair distribution.

Crude oil stocks are sufficient, keeping refineries humming at peak levels. Petrol stations across the nation are functioning normally, with zero reports of scarcity. Adding momentum, companies like IGL are rolling out incentives, gifting new PNG subscribers 500 rupees in free gas for registrations by month’s end.

Panic over domestic gas has subsided, reflected in dipping LPG bookings. States are ramping up crackdowns on stockpiling and illegal trade, backed by monitoring centers in 22 states and UTs. The ministry appeals for restraint: use online booking systems and avoid crowding at refill points.

Commitment to consumers remains paramount, especially for priority areas like homes, medical facilities, and schools, where LPG continuity is guaranteed.
