  • “PM Modi’s caste wasn’t recommended for OBC list by Mandal Commission”: Gehlot backs Rahul’s claim

Jaipur: Defending the remarks made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not an OBC as he was born into the general category, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said the latter’s caste was not included in Other Backward Classes (OBC) list as per the recommendations made by Mandal Commission and Bakshi Committee.

In a post on X, Ashok Gehlot said, “Rahul Gandhi has spoken the truth on the issue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inclusion in OBC because Modi/Ghanchi caste was not included in OBC list in the recommendations of Mandal Commission and Bakshi Committee, which was formed in 1978 for backward classes in Gujarat. His caste was that of a business community in the entire country. People from Jain, Maheshwari, and Agarwal communities commonly use the Modi surname.”

Gehlot further said if PM Modi considers himself as the biggest supporter of the OBC community, then he shoudl have a nationwide caste census conducted at the earliest. “If Narendra Modi considers himself an OBC and a supporter of the interests of the OBC class, then as per the demand of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, the central government should immediately announce the holding of a nationwide caste census. As our Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, on the one hand caste census will make it easier for the Central and state governments to ensure social justice for the backward classes from a scientific point of view and on the other hand, there should not be any confusion around caste census creating obstacles in the progress of people of general category,” Gehlot said.

In January 1978, the Centre decided to set up a second backward classes commission, under the Chairmanship of BP Mandal. The Mandal Commission submitted its report in December 1980. The Mandal Commission identified 3,743 castes that it found to form India’s Other Backward Classes, representing 52 per cent of the country’s population. Noting that OBCs only occupied 12.5 per cent of civil service posts, it recommended 27 per cent reservation for them.

Earlier, on Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not an OBC as he was born into the general category.Addressing a public rally during the Odisha leg of his ongoing ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ here, the Wayanad MP said, “Whenever BJP workers come to you, tell them, ‘Our Prime Minister lied to the country that he belongs to the backward class. He wasn’t born into a backward class, he belongs to the general caste’. Do say this to every BJP worker.” Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s denial of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s OBC status, BJP’s Amit Malviya accused him of spreading a ‘blatant lie.’

Malviya shared an official document listing OBC categories from Gujarat dated October 27, 1999, asserting that Modi’s caste was officially recognized as OBC two years before he took over as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Malviya also claimed that the Nehru-Gandhi family, right from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi, has consistently been opposed to OBCs.

    By PTI

NEW DELHI: Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s appearance before the Enforcement Directorate, the Congress on Monday said the Modi government has imposed an “undeclared emergency” in Delhi and alleged that thousands of its workers and leaders have been arrested or placed under house arrest.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala asked why the Modi government was scared of Rahul Gandhi or the Congress as they only planned to march towards the ED’s office when their leader appears before the agency for questioning.

He said Congress is fighting for the truth, which cannot be suppressed and they will continue with this fight against “injustice”.

“The Modi government has imposed an undeclared emergency in Delhi and thousands of barricades have come up and thousands of our Congress workers have been arrested since last night,” he told reporters.

“We will answer every question that the ‘Election Department’, the ‘puppet ED’ will ask. For, the truth will win in the court of untruth and tyranny,” he said.

Surjewala alleged that the “descendants of Godse” are once again challenging Gandhi and his descendants. “Neither Godse could kill Gandhi nor will his descendants be able to kill his ideology today,” he said.

Asking why thousands of policemen have been deployed in central Delhi ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the ED office, he said, “Is there any threat to the Modi government? Why are you so scared?” Surjewala alleged that a “scared and cowardly” Modi government is trying to suppress the voice of the truth.

“We will continue our ‘Satyagrah’ fearlessly against the undeterred draconian subjugation of civil rights and democracy by the Modi government. We will fight undeterred, we will fight fearlessly and we will fight for the people of the country, the downtrodden and the middle class against all-around inflation and joblessness,” he said.

The Congress leader accused the BJP of hiding behind the police. “Why does the BJP fear Rahul Gandhi so much. Why is the BJP so scared, we are only walking to the ED office,” he asked.

“Cowards are those who are firing from behind the police. Whenever the BJP fears, they hide behind the police. The British also used to hide behind the police during the freedom struggle,” Surjewala said.

Rahul Gandhi has been summoned by the ED in a money laundering case pertaining to the National Herald-AJL case. The ED has also summoned Sonia Gandhi in the case on June 23.

  • Gandhi, Mandela peace walk ends in South Africa

A 1,200-km peace walk by an Indian group, retracing the footsteps of world peace icons Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela across three South African provinces, has ended at the birth place of the anti-apartheid activist in Mvezo.

The Gandhi@150 to Mandela@100 Peace Walk South Africa – which ended on Friday – was conceptualised by serial long-distance walker Nitin Sonawane, who has walked in several countries to promote global peace.

Sonawane set off with Yogesh Mathuria, Sangram Patil and Dilip Tambolker from his home town of Pune in India together with Jalandharnath Channole from the Gandhi Ashram and Japanese monk Nippozan Myohoji, who joined the team after being inspired by Sonawane during his walk through Japan.

Undeterred by sceptics, who cautioned that the crime in South Africa was not conducive to the idea of walking the long distances with little support, Sonawane arrived in the country on September 21 to start planning. Their first stop was Nelson Mandela Museum in Mthatha, Qunu from where they proceeded to Mvezo, SABC news reported.

  • Editorial :- Rahul Gandhi ka Ahan..

Today’s news is that: “Ego of leaders, indiscipline and lobby dominates the Congress”
Prior to the Lok Sabha elections, Congress President Rahul Gandhi is trying to remove every shortcomings of the party. In this episode, he talked to the telephone from different district presidents two days ago. Most of these leaders have given more or less the same reason. They are the lobby of senior leaders, indiscipline between the cadre and the ego of the leaders.
In this connection, I believe that the main reason for the Congress going to its end is the important and indispensing of Rahul Gandhi itself.
It’s an attempt to discuss this in the editorial.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday assured the workers of Madhya Pradesh that now the parachute workers in the Congress will not get ticket in the elections. Who broke the sticks, fought for Congress, the same in the election …
Replacing the said Uwaach of Rahul Gandhi was done after Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh after Rajasthan.
The blind devotee of the Gandhi family Mani Shankar Aiyar also said that at the time of the congressional election process of Congress President some time ago, there can not be a Congress President as a mother and son (Sonia and Rahul Gandhi).
Shahjad Poonawala, brother of Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law, Jija Vadra of Jija Tehsin Poonawala, against the unconstitutional process of this same family is now a spokesman for the media against him.
To be told the truth, Rahul Gandhi became the parachute and became the president of the Congress.
In the UPA regime, Rahul Gandhi suddenly reached Delhi in the press conference being taken by Ajay Maken in Delhi and then at that time did Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s turban bounce? That is, in the UPA regime, the Ordinance was passed by dividing the copy of the copy of Rahul Gandhi into the air. What could be more indiscipline than this?
It is now necessary to discuss the importance of Rahul Gandhi as well. They advise the workers and senior leaders of Congress and preach but do not implement it themselves: But many of the skilled people in the ministry
One time Rahul Gandhi had said that an earthquake would occur if he was allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha for ten minutes.
But we have seen that his presence has been negligible in the Lok Sabha. He has given the speech very rarely, due to which the earthquake has never come.
Similarly, speaking on the motion of no confidence, he had said that the Prime Minister of India can not get him to the eye. In response to this, Modiji has given good luck.
He went on to declare himself in America that he would be the prime ministerial candidate for Congress in 2019. Similarly, during the Gujarat and Karnataka assembly elections, he also announced this.
After these announcements, the Congress passed the resolution that Congress candidate Rahul Gandhi would be the PM candidate and would not compromise on it. Is this a democratic way?
When the opposition started to oppose this announcement, it was forced to declare Rahul Gandhi that he was approved if Mayawati or Mamta Banerjee would be nominated by the General Body of the PM candidate.
Rahul Gandhi is now keen to become the Prime Minister of Yen-Ken. For this, they are now ready to play in China and Pakistan too.
To mislead the public that they are resorting to lies and fake news. To broadcast this to social media, Rahul Gandhi also stole data from Facebook through Cambridge Analyca.
They should understand the truth that the voters of India have become wiser, now they are going to be trapped in the delusion of these lies and fakes news. It is public that everyone knows …….
