  • Nimrat Kaur joins season two of Apple Original series ‘Foundation’

    LOS ANGELES: “The Lunchbox” star Nimrat Kaur is among the actors who have joined the second season of Apple Original series “Foundation”.

    The show, an epic saga from storyteller David S Goyer, will feature Kaur and nine others alongside Emmy Award nominees Jared Harris and Lee Pace in the new season.

    Based on Isaac Asimov’s award-winning stories, and featuring an international cast led by Harris and Pace, alongside rising stars Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey, the monumental adaptation of ‘Foundation’ chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.

    The Apple Original drama also stars Laura Birn, Terrence Mann and Cassian Bilton.

    Kaur, whose other credits include Hindi film “Airlift”, American shows “Homeland” and “Wayward Pines”, will play a character named ‘Yanna Seldon’ in the series.

    Isabella Laughland features as ‘Brother Constant’, Kulvinder Ghir as ‘Poly Verisof’, Sandra Yi Sencindiver as ‘Enjoiner Rue’, Ella-Rae Smith as ‘Queen Sareth’, Dimitri Leonidas as ‘Hober Mallow’, Ben Daniels as ‘Bel Roise’, Holt McCallany as ‘Warden Jaegger Fount’, Mikael Persbrandt as ‘The Warlord of Kalgan’ and Rachel House as ‘Tellem Bond’ in the series.

    ‘Foundation’ is produced for Apple by Skydance Television and led by showrunner and executive producer Goyer, with Robyn Asimov, Alex Graves, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost also serving as executive producers.

  • ‘Foundation’ renewed for season two at Apple TV Plus

    WASHINGTON: Streaming service Apple TV Plus has decided to renew sci-fi drama series “Foundation” for a second season.

    The show’s renewal comes after the first season of the show, created by David S Goyer and Josh Friedman, debuted on Apple TV Plus on September 24.

    The ten-episode first season will conclude with its finale on November 19.

    Based on Isaac Asimov’s book series of the same name, “Foundation” revolves around the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it It features Jared Harris and Lee Pace in the lead along with Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey and Laura Birn.

    Harris stars as Hari Seldon, a math genius who predicts the demise of the empire, while Pace portrays the role of Brother Day, the current Emperor of the Galaxy.

    Goyer, who serves as the showrunner, said that with the upcoming second season, the audiences will be introduced to “more of Asimov’s indelible characters and worlds”.

    “I’m thrilled that a whole new generation of fans are reading Asimov’s brilliant masterwork.

    We’re playing the long game with ‘Foundation’ and I’m grateful to my partners at Apple and Skydance for entrusting me with this epic. Buckle up. We’re about to fold some serious space,” he said in a statement.

    Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV Plus, hailed “Foundation” as a “captivating, suspenseful and breathtaking thrill ride”.

    “We know how long fans of these beloved Asimov stories have waited to see his iconic work brought to life as a visually spectacular event series and now we can’t wait to showcase even more of the richly layered world, compelling storytelling and stunning world-building that David S Goyer has created in season two,” he added.

    Also starring Indian actors Kubbra Sait of “Sacred Games” fame and Pravesh Rana, “Foundation” is produced by Skydance Television.

This vaccine will provide children with effective and long-lasting protection against pneumococcal diseases (pneumonia).

    On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel laid the foundation stone of Chhattisgarh Haj House through video conferencing from his residence office here today. The Haj House will be constructed on three acres of land at a cost of about Rs 26 crore. The five-storey building will have all facilities for Haj pilgrims. The building will be constructed at Nava Raipur Atal Nagar near Mandir Hasaud Road Airport.

             Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while wishing Eid-ul-Azha to the people of Muslim society, said that today is a chance of double happiness for the people of Chhattisgarh. Eid is being celebrated in Chhattisgarh along with the whole world and today the foundation stone of Chhattisgarh Haj House has been taken. To reduce the hardship of the Hajis, the hard work of the people of the society paid off and the demand for the construction of Haj House has been fulfilled for a long time.

           The Chief Minister said that Haj pilgrimage is an unprecedented moment of life for every Muslim. The Haj pilgrimage has also been affected this year due to Corona. He said that he will demand from the Central Government that in the Haj pilgrimage of 2021, Haj pilgrims from Chhattisgarh should be given a chance. He said that he will also take initiative to get the remaining amount of Rs 5 crore to Chhattisgarh from Haj Committee of India.

     Minister of School Education and Minority Welfare, present at the Chief Minister’s residence on this occasion While wishing Eid greetings to the people of Muslim society, Premasay Singh Tekam said that Haj pilgrims from Chhattisgarh had to first go to Nagpur. After the construction of Haj House all the facilities will be available for them here. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Forests, Transport and Housing, Mohammad Akbar, who was present at the foundation stone site Nava Raipur, said that for the convenience of Haj pilgrims, efforts will be made to start flying from Chhattisgarh itself. He thanked the Chief Minister on behalf of the society for offering the Haj House to the Muslim society.
