  • Chhattisgarh will have products from processing of forest produce, horticulture and agricultural crops.

    Bhupesh Baghel has instructed all the District Collectors and Forest Department officials to create branding and a strong distribution network of the products being produced from processing of forest produce, horticulture and agricultural crops in rural areas of the state. He has said that a strong system of marketing of these products at the state and national level should be made as a brand.
    In the instructions issued to the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister has said that the work of processing of several forest produce, harticulture and agricultural products is being done in different districts of the state. During the tour in the districts, it has been learned that production and processing of various items are taking place at the district level, but due to lack of branding and distribution network, the villagers are not getting the proper benefits of these efforts. To ensure maximum benefit of collection and processing of raw materials to the tribal and rural brothers of the state, it is necessary that the work of branding and distribution of the useful products produced in different districts is being conducted by the Small Forest Produce Association.     The Chief Minister has also said in the instructions that if the “production center” of various materials produced in different districts is converted into “Van Dhan Kendra”, the Central Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 15 lakhs per center.   • Emphasis will be given on better branding, marketing and packaging of forest produce- Shri Praveer Krishna

    Forest products are a major means of livelihood in tribal culture. There is a need to focus on better marketing, packaging, branding and development of sales centers for these forest products. Mr. Praveer Krishna, Managing Director of TRIFED said these things while addressing a divisional level meeting for forest produce based development in Prerna Sabha Hall of District Office. In this meeting organized under the aegis of TRIFED and Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, Mr. Sanjay Shukla, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. B. Anand Babu, Divisional Commissioner Mr. G.R. Churendra, Chief Conservator of Forests Mohammad Shahid and Abhay Kumar Srivastava, along with Bastar, Kondagaon Collector, Chief Executive Officer, Forest Officer and other officers of the District Panchayats of all the districts were present.

    Shri Krishna said that Bastar Division officials have worked with mutual coordination and team spirit for the procurement and processing of forest products. Due to which the forest collectors of the area have got economic benefits. In Bastar division, 32 percent tribals live in these forests to save 44 percent of the forest area, along with the abundance of forest resources, forest produce.

    Managing Director Shri Krishna said that in the present time, stressing on making integrated control system connecting the Vandhan Kendra with digital system, said that it is necessary to financially strengthen the Vandhan Samitis also. He also stressed the need to develop industries for infrastructure development and forest produce of forestry centers. Trifed is working to connect the handicrafts and handloom craftsmen who display local artwork of Bastar division to the market. For this, there is a need to identify artisans at the district level, so that craftsmen can be connected to the world-class market. With this, the craftsmen will get economic benefits as well as respect.

  • Purchase of 52 minor forest produce now in Chhattisgarh at support price

    In keeping with the interest of the forest dwellers of the state, as per the intention of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the State Government has increased the purchase of 38 minor forest plants in Chhattisgarh from 31 to 38 on the support price as well as 14 minor forest produce under the support price fixed by the Union. An important decision has been taken for the purchase. Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar said that in this way, the number of minor forest produce has been increased from 7 to 52 in Chhattisgarh for purchase on support price in about two years.
    It is worth mentioning that out of 38 small forest produce raised from 31 under the minimum support price fixed by the state government in Chhattisgarh, 7 new minor forest produce Kusumi seed, Reetha fruit (dry), Shikakai palli (dry), Satavar root (dry), Cashew nut. Kernels, Malkangani seeds and mahul leaves are included. According to the fixed support price, these include Kusumi seed Rs. 23, Reetha fruit (dry) Rs. 14, Shikakai palli (dry) Rs. 50, Satavar root (dry) Rs. 107, Cashew kernels Rs. 90, Malkangani seed Rs. 100 and Mahul leaf Rs. 15 each. Will be purchased at the rate of kilograms. Similarly, 14 small forest crops Pallas (flower), White Musli (dry), Indrajou, Patal Kumhara, Kutj, Ashwagandha, Amla (raw), Savai grass, Thorn broom, Tikhur, Behan Lakh-Kusumi, Behan Lakh on support price by the Union – Colorful, bell (raw) and berries (raw) will be purchased.
    In this regard, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Small Forest Produce Association Mr. Sanjay Shukla said that the purchase of Pallas (flower) will be made at the rate of Rs. 1000 per quintal under the support price by the Union. Similarly, white musli (dry) will be purchased at the rate of Rs 65 thousand, Indrajou Rs 15 thousand, patal kumhara 3 thousand rupees and kutaj (bark) at the rate of one thousand 100 rupees per quintal. Apart from this, Ashwagandha will be purchased at the rate of 32 thousand 500 rupees, Amla raw 2 thousand 800 rupees, Savai grass one thousand 400 rupees and Thorn broom at 2 thousand 300 rupees per quintal. Similarly, Tikhur will be purchased at the rate of Rs. 2 thousand 500 per quintal, Behan Lakh-Kusmi at Rs. 30 thousand per quintal and Behan Lakh-Rangini at Rs. 22 thousand per quintal. Apart from this, bel (kachcha) will be purchased at the rate of one thousand rupees and berries (kachcha) at the rate of 2 thousand 300 rupees per quintal.
    In Chhattisgarh state, 31 small forest produce to be purchased before it include sal seed, harra, tamarind seeds, chironji kernels, mahua seeds, kusumi lac, rangini lac, kal megh, bahera, nagarmotha, kullu gum, puwar, vine anus, honey And flower broom, Mahua flower (dry) was being purchased. Apart from this, Jamun seed (dry), Kaunch seed, Dhawai flower (dry), Karanja seed, Bibding and Amla (including seed) and flower tamarind (seedless), Giloy and Bhelwa, One basil seed, One cumin seed, Tamarind seed, Behera Kacharia, Harra Kacharia and Neem seed were being purchased. Apart from the support price in the purchase of Kusumi Lakh, Rangini Lakh and Kullu Gum, additional incentive is also being given by the state government.
