Prepare for a cultural renaissance in Banda as the Kalyanjar Mahotsav-2026 unfolds from February 15-17, embodying the theme ‘Echoes of History, Soul of Culture.’ This three-day extravaganza at Katra Kalyanjar Mela Ground, spearheaded by district authorities and tourism bodies, will immerse visitors in Bundelkhand’s timeless traditions.

Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh described it as a dynamic stage to revive and showcase the region’s storied past and artistic splendor. Highlights include electrifying Bundeli folk dances, epic Alha singing, bhajans, and regional melodies that bridge local lore with national audiences.

Backdropped by the iconic Kalyanjar Fort, the festival caters to global travelers seeking authentic experiences. Sports enthusiasts will thrill to morning competitions: kho-kho battles on the first day, intense kabaddi on the second, and a rousing dangal on the third, all from 8 AM to 4 PM.

‘Banda Got Talent’ spotlights emerging stars in afternoon slots—school kids on February 15, college talents on the 16th, and district winners on the 17th. From 4-6 PM, dive into Bundelkhand’s cultural treasures with dances, songs, and valorous Alha narratives.

Nighttime cultural sandhyas promise star power: Tripti Shakya’s group opens, followed by Sado the Band and Radha Shrivastava, culminating in Mamta Sharma and Raja Rencho’s finale. The Sarass Mela integrates rural women’s handcrafted goods, stalls, discussions, and sessions to foster self-employment and local pride.

Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, underscored its role in elevating Bundelkhand globally, building on the Republic Day float’s success. Beyond entertainment, this mahotsav drives tourism growth, economic upliftment, and heritage conservation, marking a new chapter for the region.
