  • EU for flood affected people in South Asia, victims of cyclone emphon will get special help

    New Delhi: The European Union has decided to provide assistance of 14.50 crore rupees (1.65 million euros) to deal with floods in Bangladesh, Nepal and India in South Asia. The European Union has said that as early as this year, Rs 15.85 crore (1.8 million euros) were declared for disasters, including the cyclone Amphon that devastated India and Bangladesh. Till date, around 30 crore rupees (3.45 million euros) have been provided to the affected people in the region, including the amount of aid given at present. At the same time, Nepal and Bihar were also flooded very recently.

    France also helped

    France also announced a concessional loan of 200 million euros (about Rs. 1,710 crore) in the month of June to help the vulnerable sections of India affected by the flood corona infection epidemic and Hurricane Emphon. 

    PM Modi did aerial survey of storm affected areas

    Let us know that on 22 May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an aerial survey of the areas affected by cyclone emphyn in Odisha and West Bengal. He had announced financial assistance of Rs 1,000 crore for West Bengal and Rs 500 crore for Odisha. During this time, PM Modi had talked about sending an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) by the Ministry of Home Affairs to assess the damage caused by the storm in Bengal and Odisha.

    It is worth noting that only West Bengal had suffered a loss of 80 thousand crores due to cyclone emphon. According to a report, the maximum damage was done to the houses. 21 lakh homes were destroyed by this cyclone storm. The house collapsed in 500 mauzas. All the residents of these 1500 mauzas will be compensated by the government, apart from this there was a loss of about 21 thousand crores in agriculture.

  • Paswan told the state governments – distributed ration to the people trapped in flood affected areas

    New Delhi:  In order to provide help to the homes of the people in the flood-affected states of the country, Union Consumer and Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has said that every household should be rationed. He said that all the ration shopkeepers and the local administration said that they should bring food grains to the homes of the people so that they can get relief.

    Flood situation in 6 states including Assam, Bihar critical,  rivers above danger mark

    Flood situation has become critical due to heavy rains in states like Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand and Kerala. In most parts of the country, rivers have been flooded. Most of the rivers are flowing above the danger mark. Due to this, water has been filled in many places from where people have gone out and are camping in safe places.

    Paswan said that the state governments should go to the homes of the people and deliver the food grains of the Public Ration System (PDS). He said that it would not be possible for people trapped in the flood to go to the ration shop. It should be our responsibility to help consumers in such a difficult time.

    It is our responsibility to meet the basic needs of poor consumers

    In an informal conversation with journalists, Paswan said that while the Central Government is giving five kilograms of grain at a very subsidized rate to all consumers, the same amount is also being given free of cost. This supply of food grains is being made to 81 crore consumers of the country. It is our responsibility to provide poor consumers with their basic needs in such difficult times.

    Meteorological Department released forecast of torrential rain in many states

    The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of torrential rain in the Himalayan regions along with Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan. Due to this, the possibility of flooding in the rivers originating from this region has increased in the coming days.
