Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has conveyed heartfelt condolences following the tragic fire in Indore that killed six natives of Kishanganj. The fire, caused by a short circuit during electric car charging, devastated a home in Brijeshwari Colony, turning a quiet neighborhood into a scene of horror.

Eyewitnesses described how the fire intensified within minutes. Charging wires sparked, igniting nearby materials. Soon, the inferno reached stored gas cylinders, leading to multiple blasts that shook the building. Rescue operations were hampered by the intensity of the flames and collapsing debris.

The deceased include Vijay Sethia, who was undergoing treatment in Indore, his daughter Ruchika who arrived with her children Tanyu and Rashi to see him, along with two others from the family. Kartik Sethia was also visiting relatives. This family reunion ended in unimaginable loss.

Taking immediate action, CM Kumar instructed the release of Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia to each affected family from the CM Relief Fund. He urged the New Delhi Resident Commissioner to work with MP officials for smooth repatriation of the remains to Bihar villages.

The Chief Minister prayed for the souls of the departed and resilience for the grieving kin. As electric vehicles gain popularity, this incident highlights potential hazards of improper charging practices in densely populated areas. Authorities are probing deeper into safety lapses, promising preventive steps to avoid future mishaps.

Rajasthan’s industrial landscape was struck by sorrow as a ferocious fire ravaged a chemical and firecracker factory in Bhiwadi’s Khushkheda area. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, visibly moved, took to X to share his condolences and outline immediate relief measures.

‘This devastating fire and the resulting fatalities are unbearable,’ the CM posted. He instructed the release of Rs 3 lakh from the CM Relief Fund to each victim’s family and ordered prompt aid for all affected. Administrative machinery has been mobilized to support the grieving families.

Joining the chorus of sorrow, Deputy CM Diya Kumari prayed for divine peace for the souls lost and resilience for their loved ones, alongside quick healing for the wounded.

Congress leaders have seized the moment to question the state’s safety apparatus. Sachin Pilot expressed deep empathy while highlighting the alarming pattern of such incidents, calling for robust preventive actions. Govind Singh Dotasra lambasted the ruling BJP for systemic failures in inspections and accountability.

This fire underscores the urgent need for stringent safety audits in Rajasthan’s factories. Officials are now under pressure to deliver on promises of reform and ensure worker safety amid rapid industrialization.
