Post-graduation, he deliberately paced his ascent: acting for three years, scripting next, then directing. ‘You must grasp the industry’s every layer to master it,’ he advised.

Ghai’s empire grew impressively—he helmed nearly two dozen films, floated his production company on the bourse, dabbled in distribution, and built cinema chains. This all-encompassing experience fueled his latest venture: a dedicated film academy.

‘The school bridges the gap for wide-eyed newcomers,’ Ghai said. ‘Over 2-3 years, students network with pros, practice relentlessly, and emerge industry-ready.’ It’s his way of giving back to the dream factory that shaped him.
