The video released by Uttam Yadav went viral on social media, bringing him to the attention of the police, business owners, and the general public.

Uttam Yadav had several serious criminal cases registered against him in various districts of Jharkhand, including murder, robbery, and extortion. The police were continuously searching for him. Finally, based on intelligence, the police of Chatra and Hazaribagh set up a cordon on the Bagra-Jabra road under Simaria police station area and attempted to arrest him. However, Uttam Yadav opened fire on the police team. In the retaliatory action, the police fired back, killing Uttam Yadav.

Prior to this incident, in March 2025, a notorious gangster named Aman Sahu was encountered in Palamu district, Jharkhand. The encounter occurred when the Jharkhand Police was bringing Aman Sahu from Raipur Jail in Chhattisgarh on remand to Ranchi. During the transfer, Aman Sahu attacked the police team in Palamu and attempted to escape after snatching an INSAS rifle from the police personnel. In the retaliatory action by the police, Aman Sahu was killed.

Ahmed reportedly claimed he was stationed at the police headquarters. He is also accused of interfering in land disputes and threatening individuals. A case has been filed against him under several serious charges. Authorities revealed Ahmed used mobile phones and emails to defraud people.

He is believed to have defrauded over half a dozen people, including a government employee. Ahmed would intimidate and threaten people, posing as an ADG-rank officer, and then extort money.
