Bashir Ahmad Sofi from Budgam’s Mazhama had allegedly faked his credentials—including bogus transfer orders and a fabricated last pay certificate—to land a Health Educator role. He then proceeded to work unlawfully in Baramulla’s Block Sheeri, siphoning off public funds through salaries.

Mir’s role emerged as pivotal during intensified scrutiny. Hailing from Tankipora Shahid Gunj, he is no stranger to such frauds, with multiple cases either under probe or already charge-sheeted. Authorities believe he acted as a facilitator in this and possibly other scams.
