In a dramatic turn, Patna High Court has summoned 42 victorious Bihar MLAs, spearheaded by Speaker Prem Kumar, to answer grave charges of electoral fraud. Petitions from defeated rivals highlight alleged vote manipulation and misleading declarations in nomination papers, implicating leaders from across the political spectrum.

The list of notice recipients reads like a who’s who of Bihar politics: from cabinet ministers like Vijendra Yadav to prominent legislators such as Chetan Anand and RJD’s Amrendra Prasad. Accusations include NDA’s cash handouts of Rs 10,000 per vote and Mahagathbandhan’s inducements via welfare promises. These claims have ignited fierce debates on the sanctity of democracy in one of India’s most volatile states.

This isn’t the first time Bihar polls have courted controversy. Prashant Kishor’s outfit had knocked on the Supreme Court’s doors, but to no avail. Now, the High Court is taking a closer look, demanding detailed replies from the lawmakers.

Should the court find merit in the petitions, the fallout could be seismic—potentially unseating dozens of representatives and triggering fresh polls in key constituencies. Opposition voices are jubilant, viewing it as vindication, while the ruling camp dismisses it as sour grapes.

As documents and witnesses are lined up, Bihar’s political landscape hangs in balance. This case underscores the judiciary’s pivotal role in upholding electoral fairness, promising revelations that could redefine trust in the ballot box.

Voting kicked off Thursday in Bangladesh’s parliamentary elections amid fierce backlash from the Awami League, which branded the entire process a ‘ridiculous joke’ and sounded alarms over impending national disintegration. The party implored global powers to step in and safeguard the country’s unity.

This isn’t just about marginalizing Awami League, they argued—it’s a broader purge excluding all forces resisting radicalism and advocating for a tolerant, secular state. Supporters numbering in the millions endure relentless threats to life, fear campaigns, and governmental brutality, compelling coerced votes that artificially boost participation rates.

Terror grips the polling landscape: crowds unleash lynchings and savage beatings. Prisons bulge with Awami League faithful alongside detained media professionals, rights defenders, and war crimes opponents, all jailed on trumped-up homicide accusations. Post-regime change, minorities face genocide-like perils, targeted as traitors with full impunity for murderers.

Half the voters—women—braces for catastrophe, sidelined from policy forums in this so-called democratic rebirth. Leaked footage reveals competitors rigging the game, ignoring conduct rules outright. Awami League condemned Yunus’s administration for a wasteful referendum stunt, engineering predetermined results over genuine public will.

This secularism-eroding referendum defies the constitution, a conspiracy to obliterate the legacy of freedom fighters who bled for independence from Pakistani rule under this very flag. The plea to international watchers is clear: document the fraud transparently, lest empty promises from the last 17 months turn Bangladesh into extremism’s sanctuary and a tinderbox of unrest.

With polls active on 299 constituencies and rapid result announcements planned, tension simmers. Awami League’s indictment paints a dire portrait of manipulated democracy, urging the world to avert a catastrophic breakdown in South Asia’s volatile landscape.

In a fiery denunciation, ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has dismissed the 13th national parliamentary elections as a sham orchestrated by an illegitimate regime. Addressing the nation through Awami League’s social media channels, she thanked the populace—especially women and minorities—for boycotting the flawed process en masse.

Led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus’s interim administration, the February 12 polls faced immediate backlash for excluding major opposition like Awami League, turning it into what Hasina labeled a ‘voterless charade’ that trampled democratic norms and constitutional sanctity. Chaos reigned from the outset: armed takeovers of booths, shootings, rampant bribery, fake stamping of votes, and forced agent endorsements.

Voter apathy was stark. Polling stations nationwide, particularly in Dhaka, saw zero turnout in several spots by midday. Official figures revealed a mere 14.96% participation after three-and-a-half hours, a damning indictment of public repudiation. Hasina pointed to systematic pre-poll persecution—attacks, detentions, and threats against her party’s faithful and vulnerable communities—to suppress votes.

Undeeterred by terror, citizens shunned the polls, exposing the farce. Voter roll manipulations in urban areas added to the skepticism. The Awami League has vowed not to accept this outcome, demanding annulment, the ouster of the ‘fascist Yunus government,’ liberation of detained politicians, educators, media figures, and thinkers, dismissal of sham prosecutions, unbanning of their operations, and inclusive elections supervised by an impartial caretaker authority.

As Bangladesh grapples with this electoral controversy, Hasina’s words echo a broader call for genuine representation, challenging the interim powers to heed the silent majority’s verdict.

A shocking development in Mumbai’s Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections: indelible ink is reportedly washing off voters’ fingers almost immediately. Raj Thackeray, firebrand leader of MNS, has branded it a deliberate ploy to enable multiple voting and swing outcomes.

Eyewitness accounts flooded social media Wednesday evening, with images of spotless fingers going viral. Thackeray wasted no time, calling an emergency meet and vowing legal action alongside street protests.

‘Our democracy is under attack,’ he declared, pointing fingers at rivals in the Sena-BJP ecosystem. BMC, India’s richest civic body with a Rs 52,000 crore budget, controls vital services for 1.2 crore residents.

Authorities counter that the ink met international standards, blaming soap and water exposure. Yet, lab tests demanded by MNS could reveal if substandard materials were used.

The backdrop is a fiercely contested election post-Shiv Sena split, with Eknath Shinde’s faction eyeing dominance. Thackeray’s outburst revives his anti-migrant rhetoric, potentially consolidating his base.

Polling percentage hit 55%, lower than expected amid rains. Counting begins tomorrow under tight security, but Thackeray’s mobilization risks clashes.

Critics argue such claims erode faith in ECI processes. With 227 wards at stake, the ink fiasco could redefine Mumbai’s political map—or spark chaos.

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton pulled no punches in assessing the U.S. strike on Venezuela, insisting it adhered strictly to global norms despite international outcry. In an in-depth discussion, he unpacked the motivations behind the regime shake-up targeting Nicolas Maduro.

The backdrop? Flagrant fraud in Venezuela’s 2024 elections, confirmed by watchdogs worldwide, mirroring 2018’s sham vote that prompted U.S. support for Juan Guaido. This intervention backed genuine opposition challenging Maduro’s stolen mandate.

Bolton rejected fears of it greenlighting invasions elsewhere, like Ukraine or Taiwan. The real issue, he argued, lies in Trump’s incomplete overhaul: Maduro’s out, but the authoritarian system endures. Trump’s Saturday remarks suggested a tougher stance ahead, but Bolton sees opportunism.

At the heart, Trump’s anxiety over Venezuela’s oil haunted his decisions—a dealmaker’s impulse, not ideology. ‘He’s transactional,’ Bolton observed, cautioning against overreading early signals for broader aggression.

Trump’s vision of American oil giants swooping in to cash in? Pure fantasy, per Bolton. Three decades of socialist ruin have gutted the nation’s energy backbone. Massive, sustained funding is needed to rebuild, and no firm will bet big in such volatility.

Skeptical of Nobel buzz for Trump, Bolton laughed it off: ‘He’ll soon argue he earned it by ditching Maduro, but odds are slim.’ This exchange highlights enduring U.S. dilemmas in Latin America, where oil and power collide.

Donald Trump is urging the Department of Justice to investigate the 2020 presidential election, labeling it the “biggest scandal in American history.” Despite widespread rejection by officials and courts, Trump has consistently maintained the election was rigged after his defeat to Joe Biden.

In recent public statements, Trump called for an end to mail-in and early voting, advocating instead for mandatory voter ID requirements to combat alleged fraud. He also voiced strong opposition to California’s Proposal 50, which seeks to redraw congressional districts, warning of its potential impact on election integrity.

“The 2020 Presidential Election, being Rigged and Stolen, is a far bigger SCANDAL,” Trump posted on social media. He expressed hope that the DOJ would pursue the matter with the “gusto” it deserves, warning that failing to address it could lead to similar issues in future elections, including the upcoming midterms.

Furthermore, Trump emphasized his stance against mail-in and early voting, advocating for stricter voter identification measures. He also raised concerns about the integrity of California’s Proposition Vote, citing concerns about millions of ballots being “shipped.”

The aftermath of the 2020 election saw Trump repeatedly assert claims of a rigged outcome. These assertions were largely dismissed by election officials and legal bodies. The controversial claims culminated in the January 6, 2021, events, where a large group of Trump supporters breached the U.S. Capitol during the congressional certification of the election results.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court concerning allegations against the Election Commission. The petition calls for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT),…

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court concerning allegations against the Election Commission. The petition calls for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by a former judge, to investigate allegations made by Rahul Gandhi regarding manipulation of the voter list in the Bangalore Central constituency during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The petition, filed by lawyer Rohit Pandey, cites a press conference held by Rahul Gandhi on August 7, where he questioned the transparency of the Election Commission concerning vote theft.

The petitioner has requested the Supreme Court to direct that no further amendments or finalizations be made to the voter lists until an independent audit of the voter lists is completed.

The petitioner has requested the court to establish clear rules for the Election Commission to ensure transparency and accountability in the preparation, maintenance, and publication of voter lists. They have demanded a system to detect and prevent duplicate or fake names. Additionally, it has been requested that voter lists be published in an accessible, machine-readable, and OCR-compliant format to enable proper verification and public scrutiny.

The petition, sent to the Chief Justice, references Rahul Gandhi’s press conference of August 7, in which he raised questions about the Election Commission’s transparency regarding vote theft. The petitioner claims to have independently investigated the allegations made by Rahul Gandhi and found several pieces of evidence that prove that there was an attempt to undermine the importance of valid votes and tamper with them. They stated that it is necessary for the Supreme Court to intervene, keeping in mind the public interest.

According to the petitioner, there were approximately 40,000 illegal voters and more than 10 duplicate names in the constituency. They explained that there were several instances where a single individual had different EPIC numbers in different states, whereas an individual should only have one EPIC number. Additionally, the addresses and fathers’ names of many voters were the same. Approximately 80 voters at a polling station gave the same small house address. They said that such examples raise serious doubts about the authenticity of the voter lists and, considering this, it cannot be denied that fraudulent voting took place.

The petitioner argued that if such large-scale tampering with the voter list is proven, it strikes at the foundation of the constitutional right of one person, one vote under Articles 325 and 326, undermines the value of valid votes, and violates the principles of equality and due process.

Amidst the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, a political battle is brewing between Rahul Gandhi and the Election Commission. The Congress leader has escalated his stance, declaring that if the ‘INDIA’…

Amidst the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, a political battle is brewing between Rahul Gandhi and the Election Commission. The Congress leader has escalated his stance, declaring that if the ‘INDIA’ alliance forms the government at the center, strict action will be taken against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and the other election commissioners regarding alleged ‘vote theft.’ He further asserted that ‘vote theft’ constitutes an attack on Bharat Mata.

Initially critical of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi has now turned his focus towards the Election Commission, accusing them of ‘vote theft.’ He has launched a ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ in Bihar, a 16-day journey covering 20 districts and 1300 kilometers. This yatra, which includes several opposition leaders, has already ignited the electoral atmosphere in Bihar.

During a rally in Gaya, Rahul Gandhi announced his intention to take action concerning alleged election fraud. Following repeated accusations by the Congress leader, the Election Commission stated in its press conference on Sunday that Rahul Gandhi must submit an affidavit within seven days to support his claims, failing which his claims would be deemed invalid. Responding to this, Rahul Gandhi announced during a rally in Gaya on Monday that the ‘INDIA’ alliance government, if formed in the center and Bihar, would take stringent action against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and other election commissioners for alleged ‘vote theft.’

Addressing the public gathering in Gaya on Monday, he stated, ‘The Election Commission demands an affidavit within a week, even though they are the ones whose theft has been exposed. They ask me for an affidavit. I want to tell the commission that the entire country will demand an affidavit from you. We will expose your theft in every state, every Lok Sabha constituency, every assembly constituency, and show it to the entire country.’

Earlier, in his first press conference after the accusations of vote theft in the last Lok Sabha elections and the opposition’s constant attacks on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of voter lists in Bihar, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gynesh Kumar said that Rahul Gandhi should either apologize or present his claims with a signed affidavit as per election rules.

He sternly stated, ‘He should either submit an affidavit or apologize to the nation. There is no third option in this matter. If an affidavit is not submitted within the next 7 days, the claims will be considered baseless and invalid.’ However, during his approximately one-and-a-half-hour-long press conference, Gynesh Kumar did not specify what action would be taken if the affidavit was not submitted.

Furthermore, the Chief Election Commissioner dismissed allegations of double voting and vote theft as baseless, stating that all stakeholders are working to make the SIR process successful in a transparent manner. He added, ‘It is a matter of serious concern that some political parties and their leaders are spreading false information regarding SIR in Bihar. These parties can file claims and objections on the draft voter list.’

On July 31st of the previous month, Rahul Gandhi, while accusing vote theft in the elections, presented data from the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, claiming that over a lakh votes were stolen in the Mahadevpura assembly constituency of Karnataka. Rahul Gandhi had accused similar irregularities in elections in other states as well. Although the Chief Election Officers of several states asked Rahul to submit an affidavit on his claims, Gandhi refused to do so.

Pawan Khera, the head of the Congress media department, stated that the Congress is not intimidated by the Election Commission’s demands for an affidavit. He said, ‘The impact of the Voter Rights Yatra is such that Gynesh Kumar Gupta had to hold a press conference as soon as it began. When he appeared yesterday, he threatened to provide an affidavit or apologize. But perhaps he forgot that we are not afraid of threats.’

Rahul Gandhi has initiated the ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ before the elections in Bihar. On Monday, he began the second day of the yatra from Aurangabad’s Kutumba, which reached Gaya district via RafiGanj. Several leaders from the Grand Alliance, including Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav and Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahni, participated in this yatra.

During a voter rights rally in Nawada, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a public gathering, asserting that the youth of Bihar would not allow their votes to be stolen. He emphasized that the vote is the right of the people and represents their last recourse, potentially leading to the loss of land, ration cards, and other essential resources. Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission and the BJP have been colluding to manipulate elections, citing instances in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. He pointed out a discrepancy of one crore votes between the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in Maharashtra, where the BJP reportedly won the latter. Gandhi claimed that when the Election Commission was questioned about the missing voters, they refused to provide information or show voter lists and videos, implying complicity in vote theft. Furthermore, he mentioned the discovery of one lakh fake voters in a Bangalore Central seat, which he believes helped the BJP win. Gandhi predicted that the public would demand affidavits from the Election Commission and vowed to prevent vote theft in Bihar. He also suggested that the truth about past elections in Bihar, including alleged manipulation, will eventually surface and that his government would take action against those responsible for issues like unemployment, inflated electricity bills, and rising prices. He concluded by highlighting the removal of 65 lakh voters from Bihar’s rolls, vowing to prevent such actions.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced that the campaign against alleged vote theft has evolved into a significant public movement. Following the launch of a dedicated web portal, over 1.5 million support certificates have been downloaded, and more than 1 million missed calls have been received. The portal was created to allow people to register and demand accountability from the Election Commission regarding claims of election fraud. Individuals can also express their support for a digital voter list.

In a post on X, Gandhi stated the campaign against vote theft has become a massive public movement. He highlighted that within the last 24 hours, over 1.5 million support certificates were downloaded, and over 1 million missed calls were received. Gandhi emphasized that this is the true reflection of India’s democracy today, with suppressed voices of truth rising through their campaign, and he stressed that not a single instance of vote theft should be overlooked.
