  • Gothan gave strength to Divyang Lalita: earning herself: also gave employment to 35 women

Earlier I used to be very sad. She was dependent on her parents for food and drink. But now I am earning and eating myself, and I can feed others also. Today I have given employment to 35 more women by joining me. Lalita Rathia, a differently-abled woman from Korba district, today narrated the story of her life’s struggle and success to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. She is a resident of village Chirra, about 65 km from Janpad Panchayat Korba. Lalita Rathia has emerged as an exemplary example of women empowerment in rural areas.
Expressing happiness over her success, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel congratulated Lalita and the women of her group for their efforts. The Chief Minister said that even after being handicapped, women are showing the way to walk on the path of economic development, it certainly proves the way where there is a will. While praising Lalita, Mr. Baghel said that Lalita is aware of the beneficial schemes of the government, I did not need to tell. The schemes of the government are definitely beneficial for the poor, farmers and all the people.
The Chief Minister said that Lalita, despite being physically handicapped, became financially strong herself and has shown the path of self-reliance to other women of the village. It is inspirational for all. Lalita is motivating all women to join self-employment. The Chief Minister said that it is very important for women to be financially strong in today’s era. All the Gauthans of the state have to be established as Rural Industrial Parks. The aim of the government is to provide new employment opportunities by connecting all the villagers through Gauthan and to make the people self-reliant.
While interacting with the Chief Minister in the virtual inauguration and Bhoomipujan program of the development works of the district, Lalita had told that both her feet are bad. She was disappointed about her life. But by joining the Narva-Garva-Ghurva-Bari scheme of the state government, the direction of life changed. Lalita told Chief Minister Baghel that 35 women of the village have earned an income of Rs.5 lakh 28 thousand 900 by joining the government’s ambitious Narva-Garwa-Ghuruwa-Bari Yojana and Godhan Nyay Yojana. Despite being handicapped, working as an active member in his village Chirra’s Gothan, has set an economic example in front of the people.
Lalita told that a group of 35 women was formed by joining the village’s widow, abandonment and other women. The women of the group are working in economic activities like fish farming, poultry farming, vegetable production, paddy cultivation, vermi compost production in Gauthan. By getting work in the village itself, the women of the village are becoming financially strong, due to which the economic condition of their household is improving. Due to financial strength, the women of the village are able to maintain their families and children and do their education well. Lalita said that the women of the group together have procured 800 quintals of cow dung and have also prepared 400 quintals of earthworm manure.
