  • Ryan Reynolds taking ‘a little sabbatical’ after wrapping ‘Spirited’

    By PTI

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has announced that he has taken “a little sabbatical” from films following the wrap on the Apple TV Plus film “Spirited”.

The 44-year-old actor shared the news in an Instagram post on Saturday, October 16, 2021.

“Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both,” Reynolds wrote alongside a series of photos of him with cast and crew members on the Christmas-themed musical film.

Directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, “Spirited” is the modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella “A Christmas Carol”.

It also stars Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer.

Reynolds, who was most recently seen in “Free Guy”, said he had a great time working on the upcoming film.

“Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago. Singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great @octaviaspencer…” he wrote.

The actor will next be seen in the action comedy film “Red Notice”, which will be released on Netflix in November.

It also stars Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson.

Reynolds also has “The Adam Project”, a sci-fi movie, also scheduled to be released on the streamer early next year.

  • ‘Jungle Cruise’ ride is all about wish fulfillment: Dwayne Johnson

    By IANS

NEW DELHI: Actor Dwayne Johnson, who will soon be seen in the adventure film ‘Jungle Cruise’, says that the actual ride from Disneyland has a ‘wish fulfilment’ factor attached to it.

Disney’s ‘Jungle Cruise’ also stars Emily Blunt in the leading role. It is based on the popular Disneyland ride of the same name, where the skippers of the Jungle Cruise ride lead a humorously irreverent expedition, carrying passengers along four rivers: the Nile in Africa, the Amazon in South America, the Irrawaddy in Southeast Asia and the Ganges of India.

Speaking on why he finds the Jungle Cruise fascinating, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson says: “People love the Jungle Cruise attraction because of its rich history and tradition. There’s a unique quality to Jungle Cruise that still feels as if it were fifty or sixty years ago. But that’s the charm of it. When you go around the world to some of these other parks, you see their iterations of Jungle Cruise that are just spectacular. I feel there’s a wish fulfilment factor for the audience that happens with the Jungle Cruise ride. That wish fulfilment, I believe, is the idea that you are being transported, and you are truly going on the adventure and ride of a lifetime.”

The actor says that the team ensured that the charm of the actual Jungle Cruise ride was part of the film.

“From the beginning, we wanted to ensure that every element of the Jungle Cruise attraction are in the movie. We’ve worked closely with the tremendously talented team of Disney Imagineers to make sure that we are servicing all these memorable moments and integrating them into this epic adventure. This is what makes this project so very special. It’s been years in the making to pay homage to this wonderful piece of Disneyland history and we’re very, very excited about making a great movie that honours and respects the Jungle Cruise ride,”says the actor.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, ‘Jungle Cruise’ stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar RamArez and Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti. The movie is set to release on September 24 in Indian cinemas in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

  • Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt open up about working together in ‘Jungle Cruise’

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: Ahead of the release of ‘Jungle Cruise’, actors Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt shared their experience of working together in the film.

For the unversed, Jaume Collet-Serra directorial ‘Jungle Cruise’ is based on Disney’s theme park ride of the same name.

The story centres around a brother (Jack Whitehall) and sister (Blunt) duo, who hire a boat captain (Johnson) to row them down the Amazon river as they are in pursuit of a tree believed to have healing powers.

Opening up on her chemistry with Johnson, Blunt said, “We lucked out, we genuinely got along and became best buds and it was easy peasy, it was just such a fun experience. But I think the script was so winning, the chemistry on the page was so winning and we had a really brilliant director who was very free-spirited and he left us to mess around and improv and stretch the scenes around so they just had this life. So if you didn’t have a director who was this open and confident in letting you play with it then you don’t have the same spirit. We got very lucky with Jaume.”

Like Blunt, Johnson also praised director Jaume for executing everything in a perfect manner.

“Jaume wants to build a world, he’s a world builder and he loves characters, he loves building a world and of all the elements Jungle Cruise brings Emily and I had asked him at the end of our first conversation what’s the movie about and he said ‘love.’ Of all the things, comedy and action and adventure and it came down to love so it was great,” he added.

A few days ago, the film had its world premiere, wherein Johnson, also a producer of the movie, paid tribute to Walt Disney who opened the Anaheim park in July 1955 with the Jungle Cruise ride as one of its original attractions, reported Deadline.

‘Jungle Cruise’ will release in theatres soon.

  • Dwayne Johnson confirms he won’t be part of future ‘Fast and Furious’ movies

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that he will not be appearing in any future ‘Fast and Furious’ movies while responding to comments made by his former co-star Vin Diesel.

According to Fox News, Diesel had earlier claimed that he had to give some of his ‘Fast and Furious’ co-stars some “tough love,” to which Johnson “laughed” at.

In an interview published on Wednesday by The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson said, “I laughed and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well. I wish them well on ‘Fast 9.’ And I wish them the best of luck on ‘Fast 10’ and ‘Fast 11’ and the rest of the ‘Fast and Furious’ movies they do that will be without me.”

During an interview with a news outlet in June, Diesel had finally addressed the tension between him and Johnson, which reportedly began after the two stopped filming ‘The Fate of the Furious’ back in 2016.

Diesel told the outlet, “It was a tough character to embody, the Hobbs character. My approach at the time was a lot of tough love to assist in getting that performance where it needed to be. As a producer to say, okay, we’re going to take Dwayne Johnson, who’s associated with wrestling, and we’re going to force this cinematic world, audience members, to regard his character as someone that they don’t know–Hobbs hits you like a ton of bricks.”

Speaking further on the subject, he added, “That’s something that I’m proud of, that aesthetic. That took a lot of work. We had to get there and sometimes, at that time, I could give a lot of tough love. Not Felliniesque, but I would do anything I’d have to do in order to get performances in anything I’m producing.”

Diesel and Johnson’s feud had allegedly started after Johnson shared a post in which he called his male co-stars of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise “candy a–es.” Although Johnson never named Diesel specifically, it was rumoured that Johnson believed the actor was difficult to work with.
