Ravi, known by aliases Budhi and Jalebi, a 37-year-old from Uttam Nagar’s Om Vihar, has 14 prior cases to his name. He was nabbed on January 11 with a loaded pistol after a secret informant tipped off the AATS. His interrogation revealed Nishant, 21, from Hastsal Road’s JJ Colony, as the weapon provider. A subsequent raid netted Nishant’s pistol and cartridge.

This bust stems from DCP Dwarka’s strategy to monitor gang affiliates and extortion activities proactively. The covert operation involved a dedicated unit supervised by senior officers, showcasing meticulous planning and execution.

Ravi admitted during custody to his Saddam Gauri gang ties, motivated by fast cash through shakedowns of drug and booze operators. The arrests disrupt a budding extortion plot and expose the arms supply chain feeding Delhi’s underworld.

Police have filed charges under relevant Arms Act provisions at Uttam Nagar station. With investigations ongoing, authorities aim to map the gang’s full network, reinforcing public safety measures against rising criminal syndicates in the national capital.
