Rongjiang County in Guizhou Province, southwest China, is facing severe flooding, prompting the activation of the highest-level emergency flood response. The Shihuichang Hydrological Station on the Duliu River recorded a water level exceeding the guaranteed level. The local flood control headquarters has escalated the emergency response to Level I, the highest in China’s four-tier warning system. Over 41,574 individuals from 11,992 households have been moved to safer locations. More than 1,000 soldiers with heavy machinery are assisting in relief operations. The National Development and Reform Commission has allocated significant funds to support disaster relief in Guizhou Province. The flooding, caused by persistent rainstorms since June 24, has resulted in fatalities.
