Veteran actor Saurabh Shukla recently shared valuable insights from his early days in filmmaking, specifically his experience working with director Shekhar Kapur on the iconic 1994 film ‘Bandit Queen.’ Shukla revealed that Kapur’s directorial approach taught him a crucial lesson: the ability to find humor even amidst the most somber and intense narratives. ‘Bandit Queen,’ which chronicles the life of Phoolan Devi, is known for its stark and often brutal portrayal of the subject matter. However, Shukla recalled how Kapur consistently sought out moments of levity. He cited an example of a scene depicting a chaotic village robbery where a villager, amidst the panic, humorously requests a bottle of liquor from the fleeing dacoits. This ability to inject a human, even funny, element into dark situations deeply impacted Shukla, shaping his own creative philosophy. He emphasized that humor is essential for a complete cinematic picture, a principle he continues to follow in his own work. Shukla also lauded Kapur’s innate understanding of rhythm and dialogue, even when not native to the specific dialect, highlighting his ability to connect with the emotional core of a story. ‘Bandit Queen’ achieved significant critical acclaim, including a National Film Award. Shukla’s own career boasts a distinguished filmography, marked by versatile performances.

Amitabh Bachchan, the ‘Megastar of the Century,’ and the iconic actress Rekha once made headlines in Bollywood for their relationship. Despite being married and a father of two, Big B fell in love with Rekha. Although he was 12 years older than the actress, she didn’t seem to mind. However, due to Amitabh’s marital status, their relationship didn’t have a future.

By the early 80s, the relationship between Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha had ended. Even today, there is much discussion in the film circles about their relationship.

The decision to create a prequel to Kantara stemmed from several factors. Discussions with co-writers and Hombale, along with Vijay and Chaluve, were initiated following the first film’s release. Rishab Shetty initially considered taking a break, but the positive reception sparked the idea for another installment in the franchise. The announcement poster, released by Hombale, provided the impetus to develop a prequel that would delve into the backstory.

Fans of Kantara can anticipate a cinematic experience that potentially surpasses the intensity of the previous film’s climax. The new story, set in the past, aims to deliver both expected elements and surprising twists.

Reflecting on the journey from the first Kantara to the sequel, Rishab Shetty acknowledges significant personal and professional evolution. He views each project as a learning opportunity, striving to minimize past mistakes. He embraces the process of continuous improvement as a director, writer, actor, and storyteller, aiming for overall scaling up of the production. The aim is to constantly evolve as a creative individual.

The success of Kantara had a transformative impact on his life. The film, which began during the second lockdown, was initiated when Vijay Kiragandur offered him a film. The positive response from the Kannada audience ignited widespread appreciation. The film’s reach across various audiences, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, greatly impacted the team.

Regarding future projects, Shetty is currently working on a film with Mr. Ashwin Gangaraju, titled Anandmath. Following this, his next project will be Jai Hanuman.

He clarifies that a third Kantara film would not be made solely due to audience expectations. The focus remains on telling a compelling story. Unless there’s a significant and meaningful narrative to explore, Part 3 won’t be made. The prequel was developed because it felt natural within the Kantara universe, demonstrating the depth of the existing world. The primary motivation is to create quality content, not to merely meet demand.

Atlee, the director known for his success with just five films, has carved a significant place in the industry and the hearts of many. While his professional life is often discussed, his love life with Krishna Priya is also quite special. Atlee married Krishna Priya in 2014, and they have been enjoying a happy married life for 11 years. The way Atlee proposed to Priya is an interesting story. Today, on September 21st, which is Atlee’s 39th birthday, let’s talk about his love story with Priya.

They’ve been together since their struggling days. Atlee is a director, while his wife is an actress. They knew each other since their struggling days. It is said that they met through a common friend. This was when Atlee was working on the script of his first film, ‘Raja Rani,’ which was released in 2013. Krishna Priya also helped Atlee with the film’s work. They became good friends.

When ‘Raja Rani’ was released, people loved the film. It was the result of their hard work, and the film was successful. After that, they both were convinced that they were made for each other. During that time, Priya’s family wanted to get her married. Her parents were looking for a suitable match for her.

Atlee’s unique proposal: Priya told Atlee that her family was looking for a groom for her. Then Atlee said to her, ‘Why don’t you show my horoscope to your family?’ Priya went home at that time and later asked Atlee why he said that. Atlee replied that he said what he felt. ‘If you say so, I will come to your house and talk to your family.’ And then both families agreed to the relationship, and they got married.

Jharkhand, a state rich in water, forests, and natural mineral resources, often finds itself in the news, sometimes for unfortunate reasons. Recently, a trend of issuing threats has emerged. Following threats to the state’s Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) Director Dr. Rajkumar has received a menacing phone call.

A man named Chandan Kumar threatened the director, vowing to expel him from Ranchi within 15 days, using physical violence. The director mentioned that he had previously met Chandan Kumar, who runs a private hospital in Ranchi. Initially, Chandan Kumar offered assistance when the director was facing removal from his post. However, the director stopped interacting with him when Kumar attempted to interfere in RIMS affairs and sought to influence decisions. The threats escalated when the director refused to comply with Kumar’s pressure regarding transfers and postings, leading to WhatsApp calls filled with abuse and the threat of expulsion from the city.

An FIR has been filed at the Bariatu police station in Ranchi regarding the threats. The police are investigating the matter.

Dr. Rajkumar was previously in the headlines when he was dismissed from the RIMS Director post on April 18, 2025. He challenged the decision in the Jharkhand High Court, which subsequently stayed the removal order on April 28, 2025, allowing him to be reinstated on April 29, 2025.
