As the summer heat intensifies across the Indian subcontinent, the India Meteorological Department has provided a comprehensive look at the weather patterns for the next seven days. Residents in Delhi are already feeling the pinch, with clear skies and high solar radiation expected to push temperatures nearly to the 40-degree mark. The IMD anticipates that the maximum temperature in the capital will see a steady climb, making the afternoons particularly challenging for commuters. The agency has advised citizens to take necessary precautions against heat exposure as the dry spell continues.

While the North bakes, significant atmospheric activity is predicted in the East and South. West Bengal, Sikkim, and Odisha are likely to experience sporadic rainfall and thunderstorms through April 20. In the South, parts of Karnataka are expected to receive light to moderate showers over the next 48 hours. The most dramatic weather, however, is reserved for the hills of the North-West, where Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh could witness snowfall. This rare late-April atmospheric cooling in the mountains stands in sharp contrast to the 4-5 degree Celsius temperature spike expected across the plains of Northwest India, Central India, and Maharashtra.
