  • Oxygen plant started in Dedicated Kovid Hospital in this district of Chhattisgarh, capacity to fill 41 jumbo cylinders daily

    A major relief has been reported for Kovid and other patients. Oxygen plant has been launched at Dedicated Kovid Hospital located at the district headquarters. This plant has been established in the hospital premises itself. The oxygen plant has a capacity to fill 41 jumbo cylinders daily.

    Oxygen plant started in Kovid Hospital
    In the case, District Chief Health and Medical Officer Dr. Khemraj Sonwani informed that this unit based on PSA, Pressure Swing Absorption Technology has started, which will have the capacity to generate 41 jumbo cylinders of oxygen per day. This machine generates oxygen from the air present in the atmosphere at the rate of 200 liters per minute. Along with this, this oxygen can also be stored.

    He told that this is the first unit of the district. Staff has also been trained for its operation. It will be convenient to supply oxygen to ICU patients by setting up the plant. The situation of emergency cylinder shortage will no longer be created. This will be useful for Dedicated Kovid Hospital as well as District Hospital.

    On this occasion, Collector Sunil Kumar Jain said that this is a big achievement for our districts. Certainly, with the start of this plant, we will get relief from the dependence on oxygen supply from industrial plants and other districts. This will not only expand healthcare facilities, but industrial progress will also continue without being hampered. We are planning to focus on children’s health facilities in the coming times.

    The Collector said that for this, emphasis is being laid on availability of other equipment including adequate ventilators. On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Awasthi, Kovid Hospital Incharge Dr. Shailendra Sahu, DPM Srishti Mishra and other hospital staff, officers were present. Significantly, under the guidance of Collector Sunil Kumar Jain, health facilities are constantly being expanded in the districts.
