  • Women’s commission chief speaking on the basis of her data: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel

    Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel declined to comment on the controversial remarks made by the president of State Women’s Commission Kiranmayi Nayak, saying that if she has said anything, it must be on the basis of her experience and on the basis of data.
    The CM told reporters, “I would not like to make a comment on it. This is a constitutional post. If she has said anything then it must be on the basis of her experience and on the basis of the data.”

    Regarding the attack on JP Nadda in West Bengal, he said, “I got to know that Nadda ji’s convoy was attacked. Minutes after this, Madhya Pradesh CM, Shivraj ji said that this is the murder of democracy. I want to ask him that he had earlier bought 25 MLAs. Isn’t that a murder of democracy?”
    He said efforts were being made to remove him from his post. He said, “I am not here for this seat. I am here for the people of Chhattisgarh. I love to work for the people of Chhattisgarh. All the miscreants who are trying to disrupt governance are hampering the growth of democracy. People who get disturbed by looking at the progress of our state feel threatened.”

  • Weather threat to fragrant paddy crop in six thousand hectare in Surguja district

    The unseasonal rains have put a threat to the fragrant paddy in Sarguja region. The aromatic paddy crop is ripe. The standing paddy crop has fallen in the fields due to the rains and winds from the last two days. The crop that has been cut in the barn has also completely drenched. In such a situation, it is not easy to miss. If the weather does not open then farmers may have to suffer losses. Aromatic traditional paddy that includes cumin seeds prominently. In Surguja region, farmers only plant cumin seed. They also plant bison with it.

    The specialty of both these paddy is that chemical fertilizer seems to be very less in it or many farmers do not even use chemical fertilizer. Therefore it is tasty and quite aromatic to eat. Especially the demand for cumin seed is very high. Still 80 to 100 rupees per kg of clean and cuminful rice people buy hand-to-hand. The possibility of deteriorating quality has increased due to this fragrant paddy earrings being sold at a nominal price. In Surguja, paddy sales farmers on support prices cultivate fragrant paddy in large acreage for their own use. Rainfall during harvesting, miscegenation has worried farmers.

    In the Surguja district, where farmers do hybrid paddy cultivation on a large scale, farmers have been cultivating traditional aromatic paddy varieties for years throughout the year in moist moisture fields. Around 6000 hectares of aromatic paddy varieties have been planted in Surguja zone. In this, only about 3000 hectares of varieties of cumin seed are planted, because its growth is high and the plants are very thin so the earrings are bent after ripening. Due to the weight of the earrings, paddy crop falls on the ground in unseasonal rain and strong wind. Since it is cultivated in already deep fields, the earrings get spoiled due to moisture from both the sides due to paddy land in the rain.
