Hockey India has announced a dynamic 24-player Indian team for the upcoming FIH Men’s Pro League 2025-26 Rourkela edition, running February 10-15 in Odisha’s Birsa Munda Stadium. The squad features a debutant who could become the next big thing in Indian hockey.

Roshan Kujur, the 21-year-old from Odisha, steps into senior international hockey for the first time. Fresh off a bronze at the FIH Junior World Cup 2025 in Chennai and pivotal contributions to champions Vedanta Kalinga Lancers in the Hero Hockey India League, Kujur’s inclusion is richly deserved.

Manmeet Singh from Punjab also shines through, replicating his junior success in domestic leagues. The team boasts depth: goalkeepers Suraj Karkera and Pavan; a robust defense led by Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, and Sumit; midfield engines like Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh and Neilakanta Sharma; and a lethal forward line with Arjun Singh Hundal and Aditya Arjun Lalage.

Coach Craig Fulton is optimistic: ‘Youthful talents alongside veterans create the perfect equilibrium. We’re confident against strong sides like Belgium and Argentina, prioritizing our best game.’

Rourkela’s leg pits India against top global teams, offering invaluable preparation. This blend of experience from India-A players and rising stars positions India strongly. As the stadium fills with fervent supporters, the focus sharpens on showcasing world-beating hockey, reinforcing India’s rising stature in the sport.

Hockey India has rolled out its 33-member probable core group for the senior men’s national camp, a key step ahead of the FIH Men’s Pro League. The camp runs February 1-7 in Odisha’s Rourkela, priming the team for the high-stakes home series at Birsa Munda Stadium from February 10-15.

Fresh from the Hero Hockey India League’s conclusion, this gathering reunites the squad brimming with momentum. HIL delivered fierce competition, exposing emerging players to world-class action and boosting their readiness for international battles.

Coach Craig Fulton shared insights on squad rotation: ‘The HIL highlighted the need for change. Resting select seniors to manage fatigue, we’re elevating performers who grabbed their chances. These Pro League rounds in Rourkela and Hobart will shape our World Cup and Asian Games lineups.’

Breaking down the roster: Goalkeepers – Pawan, Suraj Karkera, Mohit Honnenahalli Shashikumar, Prince Deep Singh. Defenders: Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Sanjay, Harmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sumit, Poovanna Chandura Bobby, Yashdeep Siwach, Nilam Sanjeep Jes, Amandeep Lakra.

Midfielders: Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Hardik Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Vishnu Kant Singh, Raj Kumar Pal, Nilakanta Sharma, Roshan Kujur. Forwards: Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Mandeep Singh, Arjit Singh Hundal, Angad Bir Singh, Uttam Singh, Selvam Karthi, Aditya Arjun Lalgune, Maninder Singh.

With national pride on the line, this camp is more than training—it’s a launchpad for India’s ambitious 2024 season, blending experience with youthful vigor for podium pursuits.
