The 10-day Gandhi Shilp Bazaar, held at Chhattisgarh Haat Complex, Pandri Raipur, ended. Gandhi Shilp Bazaar was organized in collaboration with Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi. The closing ceremony was concluded in the presence of the officials of Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board with great simplicity. Gandhi Shilp Bazaar remained the center of attraction for the people of the capital for 10 days. On this occasion, all the craftsmen were awarded with citations. This 10-day Gandhi Shilp Bazaar, held from 12 February to 21 February, was inaugurated under the distinguished presence of Shri Chandan Kashyap, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board and Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board, under the chairmanship of Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar.
It is notable that this was a unique occasion for the capitalists after a long gap in the Corona transition period in the wedding season. When people got a chance to interact with the craftsmanship of various states along with Chhattisgarh in this event of Handicrafts Development Board. At the same time, people shopped for decorative items and traditional textiles of their choice. The craftsmen of various states who came to display their craftsmanship in this Gandhi Shilp Bazaar appreciated the event and said that this event of the Handicrafts Development Board is unique in itself. Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board General Manager Mr. Shankar Lal Dhurve and Nodal Officer Shri HB Ansari said that about 40 lakh rupees have been earned so far in this 10-day crafts market. Traditional garments made by the craftsmen as well as attractive home furnishings and home furnishings were also available for sale. It is worth mentioning that in the crafts market, more than 100 artisans of various crafts from different states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Pondicherry, Jammu and Kashmir along with handicraft art of Chhattisgarh state participated.
