Vehicle owners across India have the opportunity to resolve outstanding traffic challans at the National Lok Adalat, scheduled for September 13, 2025. This initiative, taking place in courts nationwide, addresses minor traffic violations. These include infractions such as driving without a helmet or seatbelt, speeding, improper parking, or lacking a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. Participants can benefit from reduced fines or complete waivers, saving both time and money while avoiding lengthy court proceedings. This platform excludes serious offenses like drunk driving, hit-and-run incidents, and negligent driving resulting in fatalities. The program’s objective is to alleviate pressure on the courts and encourage greater adherence to traffic regulations among the public.

To participate in the Delhi Lok Adalat and settle pending traffic challans or e-challans, online registration is mandatory. The process involves visiting the Delhi Traffic Police website at traffic.delhipolice.gov.in and selecting the ‘Delhi State Legal Services Authority’ option. Applicants must then provide details such as their full name, contact number, vehicle registration number, and challan information before submitting the form. Upon successful submission, a token number and appointment letter are sent via email, along with confirmation and token download links. The Lok Adalat hearings will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM.

On the hearing date, vehicle owners are required to bring their printed appointment letter, token number, and original documents, including vehicle papers and challan receipts. Authorities advise arriving at the venue at least one hour prior to the scheduled proceedings. The upcoming Lok Adalat will offer relief, in the form of waivers or reduced fines, for minor traffic offenses. These include not wearing a seat belt or helmet, disregarding traffic signals, speeding, improper parking, driving without a valid PUC, missing number plates, lacking a vehicle fitness certificate, driving in the wrong lane, driving without a valid license, incorrectly issued challans, and other unspecified offenses.

Serious violations will not be eligible for relief under this scheme. These include driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, hit-and-run cases, fatalities caused by negligent driving, underage driving, illegal racing or speed trials, vehicles associated with criminal investigations, cases already in court, and challans issued by authorities in other states. In Delhi, Lok Adalat sessions will be held at various locations. These venues include Dwarka Court, Tis Hazari Court, Rohini Court, Rouse Avenue Court, Karkardooma Court, Patiala House Court, and Saket Court. Additional sessions will also be conducted at the Delhi High Court, District Courts, the Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, the Debt Recovery Tribunal, the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and Permanent Lok Adalats.

The Lok Adalat provides numerous benefits to citizens. These include the ability to settle minor violations with reduced or waived fines, avoid legal expenses, save time by bypassing extensive court procedures, and allow the judiciary to focus on more serious cases. This initiative promotes greater adherence to traffic laws while streamlining the resolution of minor disputes.

Often, in the rush to reach the office or during emergencies, people unknowingly violate traffic rules. Cameras on the road instantly issue traffic tickets for these violations. These cameras are incredibly effective, making it nearly impossible to avoid them if you break the rules, and a ticket is almost guaranteed.

Many individuals await the Lok Adalat to address these traffic tickets, aiming to settle them at a reduced cost. The Lok Adalat can reduce or even waive the fine. In 2025, two Lok Adalats have already been held, with the third scheduled for September 13.

This article provides essential information about the Lok Adalat, such as whether anyone can attend, the necessary preparations, and the documents required.

## Lok Adalat Next Date 2025

The first Lok Adalat of 2025 was held on March 8, 2025, the second on May 10, 2025, and the third is scheduled for September 13, 2025. If you haven’t obtained a token for the September 13 Lok Adalat, you will have to wait three months, as the next opportunity will be on December 13, 2025.

## Lok Adalat 2025: Documents to Carry

If you have a token for the September 13 Lok Adalat, ensure you bring the printout of the token or appointment with you. This is essential; otherwise, you won’t be able to proceed. No other documents are usually needed, as the token contains the ticket information and court details.

## Lok Adalat 2025 Timing

According to a post shared on the Delhi Traffic Police’s official X account, the Lok Adalat operates from 10 AM to 4 PM. However, it’s important to note that you can’t just go anytime between those hours.

You must arrive at the Lok Adalat at the time specified on your token; arriving late might cause you to miss the opportunity to have your ticket waived or settled at a reduced cost.

## Lok Adalat Token: How to Get a Token Online

Tokens are currently unavailable for the Lok Adalat because the limit has been reached. Only those with tokens can print out their notices. Residents of Delhi can book tokens through the Delhi Traffic Police website. Although it’s too late now, let’s review the token booking process for future reference.

* Go to https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/notice/lokadalat. Currently, those with tokens can only print their tickets through this link, but you can book tokens here during the next Lok Adalat.
* After opening the link, you will be asked for your vehicle number, engine, or chassis number to get the token.
* If there are pending notices, they will be displayed here after entering the details.
* Clicking the print option on the right side of the notice will prompt you to answer three questions: which court you want to go to, you have to select the court number, and the time you want to attend the court.

**Note:** If you reside in any state other than Delhi, you can obtain tokens through the NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) website.

The Supreme Court has modified its earlier decision concerning Justice Prashant Kumar of the Allahabad High Court. Initially, the court had instructed him not to preside over criminal cases. However, following objections from the Allahabad High Court judges, the Supreme Court has withdrawn its directive. The initial intervention stemmed from a civil dispute on August 4th, where the Supreme Court took a strict stance on Justice Kumar’s handling of a case involving criminal proceedings.

Patna: Jan Suraaj Party Chief Prashant Kishor says, ” …From 5-11 am, I was made to sit in the Police vehicle and kept taking me to different places. Nobody told me where I was being taken even though I asked them multiple times…after 5 years, they took me to Fatwah’s community centre and they wanted to conduct my medical test and get the certificate from doctors. I refused to give my consent because I did not do any criminal activity, I told the doctors this…Police tried to convince the doctors but they refused to give illegal certificate. they recorded my statement that I refused to give a medical test…I was taken to court and I was granted bail but, it is written in the order that I should not do any wrongdoings, so I rejected this bail order, I accepted to go to jail…”
Show more Show less
