When asked about the frequent changes in government in Nepal, Koirala stated that she is critical of the current political landscape, a sentiment she has held since childhood. After Oli’s resignation, the names of Kulman Ghising, Balen Shah, and Durga Prasai were discussed for the prime minister’s post in Nepal, but ultimately, Sushila Karki secured the position. The question arises: why was Karki’s name agreed upon for the prime minister’s post?

4. Constitutional Considerations: Sushila Karki, a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, was appointed as the interim prime minister. The constitution of Nepal does not mention an interim PM. There is a strong possibility that the matter could go to the Supreme Court. The President sought to avoid a constitutional crisis by appointing a former Supreme Court judge to the position.
