    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the keynote address at the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India’s (Assocham) ongoing foundation week on Saturday at 10.30am via video conferencing. 

    Union home minister Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata early Saturday morning for a two-day visit to take stock of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) affairs in West Bengal ahead of the assembly elections scheduled to be held in the eastern state next year.

    The number of people confirmed to have been infected by the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in India crossed the 10 million mark on Friday, about 10 months after the pandemic started spreading in the country. The confirmed cases have been reported from almost all states, but are largely concentrated in a select few districts.

    Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that with changing times, the nature of threats and wars is also changing, adding that in the future, more security-related issues may arise before India.

    Attending the Military Literature Festival-2020 via video conferencing, the Defence Minister said, “From another point of view, I find this event very important. With changing times, the nature of threats and wars is also changing. In the future, more security-related issues may come before us.”

    On the issue of military literature, the Defence Minister said, “I myself have been deeply interested in linking military literature with the common people. My wish is that future generations understand the history of our country, especially the border history.”

    “Soon after assuming office, I set up a committee. It is working towards bringing our border history and its associated wars, to the people in a simple way,” he added.

    Rajnath Singh further said, “The think-tanks associated with the Defense Ministry publish offline and online researches, journals and periodicals related to military, strategy, so that people interested in this subject can reach such materials.”

  • Farm laws not introduced overnight, was discussed extensively for 20-30 years: PM Modi

    Addressing farmers virtually as part of Kisan Kalyan Sammelan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday sought to reassure them and reiterated that Minimum Support Price (MSP) will stay and there is no change.

    He also said that the new farm reform laws were not brought in overnight and that they were discussed in detail by every government over two decades.

    “Farm Laws have not been introduced overnight. Over the last 20-30 years, central government and state governments had detailed discussions on these reforms. Agriculture experts, economists and progressive farmers have been demanding reforms,” said PM Modi while addressing farmers at the ‘Kisan Kalyan’ event in Raisen through video conferencing.

    “I request all political parties with folded hands, please keep all the credit. I am giving credit to all your old election manifestos. I just want ease in the life of farmers, I want their progress and want modernity in agriculture,” he added.

    Today Rs 16 thousand crores are being transferred into the bank accounts of 35 lakh farmers of Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi stated.

    The Prime Minister further said the modern system that India has created in the last five to six years is being discussed and appreciated all over the world today.

    “The modern facility available to the farmers in the big countries of the world should be provided to the farmers of India also, it cannot be delayed any longer,” said PM Modi.

  • Climate-friendly agriculture reduces costs, farmers benefit: Nitish

    Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while appealing to the farmers to adopt climate-friendly agriculture, today said that this not only reduces their cost but also benefits them.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi to talk to three teams involved in developing Kovid vaccine

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold talks on Monday through video conferencing with the teams of the three companies involved in the vaccine being prepared for prevention of Kovid-19. It is known that the Prime Minister visited Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune on Saturday and reviewed the progress of the corona vaccine.

    According to the information, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold talks through video conferencing on Monday, which will include three teams, which are involved in developing the Kovid-19 vaccine. The teams the Prime Minister will interact with are Genoa Biopharma, Biological E and Dr. Reddy.

    Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and Serum Institute of India in Pune to review the progress of the Corona vaccine being developed with Kovid-19.

    Modi had tweeted that, “By visiting the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, we got information about the DNA based indigenous vaccine being developed by Joydes-Cadila.” Government of India is actively working with them to support them in this journey.

  • Construction of assembly building and two water projects will start soon

    Chief Secretary Shri R.P. A meeting of the Project Construction and Implementation Committee was held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan here today under the chairmanship of the Board. The meeting approved the proposal of the new assembly building to be constructed mainly by the Public Works Department in Sector-19 of Nava Raipur and the Kharang-Ahiran Reservoir Project and Chapratola Feeder Reservoir Project in Bilaspur District by the Water Resources Department.

    Secretary of Water Resources Department Shri Avinash Champawat gave information about two major projects of the department. He informed that the Kharang Ahiran Link reservoir is to be built on the river Ahiran in Bilaspur district at a cost of Rs 720 crore 52 lakh. For this, water from rivers will be brought to the reservoir through underground ground pipes. The water collected in this reservoir will be used to supply drinking water in the cities of Bilaspur and Ratanpur. Besides, irrigation facility will also be available for 56285 hectare area of ​​208 villages situated along the rivers. Shri Champawat informed about the proposed Chhapratola feeder reservoir on Arpa river in Bilaspur district due to the problem of drinking water supply due to the fall in ground water in the surrounding areas of Arpa river between October and May from the construction of the reservoir. Will get liberation. Also, water flow and environmental balance will remain throughout the year. The construction of the project will cost around Rs 968 crore 56 lakh. The project will be sent to the Government of India for approval under the National River Conservation Plan. Chief Secretary Shri Mandal has given instructions to survey and arrange in detail about villages, families, agricultural land, forest land, private land, fallow land, government land, etc. which are affected as submerged area due to construction of the project. .
    Principal Secretary Planning and Economic Statistics Department Mr. Gaurav Dwivedi, Principal Secretary Forest Department Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua and senior officers of departments were present in the meeting. Additional Chief Secretary Finance Department Shri Amitabh Jain also attended the meeting through video conferencing.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressedd the concluding session of the 80th All India Presiding Officers Conference today via video conferencing. The two-day conference began yesterday at Kevadia in Gujarat.

  • Corona infection situation in the state under control: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel

The Chief Minister said that initially there were very few cases of corona in Chhattisgarh, but the infection increased due to those coming from other states. He said that oxygen plots would be set up in medical colleges.
