In Mumbai, the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, a globally recognized socio-spiritual organization, marked World Oceans Day with a combination of devotion, environmental initiatives, and community engagement. The event, held at Juhu Beach, highlighted the organization’s commitment to spiritual values and selfless service.

World Oceans Day, observed since 1992, emphasizes the crucial role oceans play in sustaining life. BAPS youth volunteers gathered at the Indian Ocean’s edge, offering prayers for global peace, ecological harmony, and the well-being of all. This event underscored the BAPS philosophy, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of spirituality and service.

Under the guidance of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS continues to initiate programs that promote both inner transformation and societal improvement. The organization’s environmental drives, humanitarian outreach, and awareness campaigns cultivate a culture of compassion and sustainable development.

Following the morning prayers, BAPS volunteers conducted a significant cleanup of Juhu Beach, removing plastic, non-biodegradable waste, and other debris. Their dedication reflected their commitment to protecting the environment. Volunteers also engaged with beachgoers, providing insights on marine pollution, waste management, and ecological awareness. The interactions served to educate and inspire action towards environmental care.

The day concluded with a shared pledge to safeguard oceans and protect the environment for future generations. This initiative is a testament to the BAPS principle that true spirituality is expressed through service, and that devotion to God encompasses care for His creation. BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha remains a leading force in spiritual guidance, community responsibility, and environmental stewardship, motivating communities to live with greater awareness, reverence, and responsibility.
