    By Express News Service

While actor Christian Bale had earlier said that he would play Batman only if Christopher Nolan will be directing it, the filmmaker in a recent conversation confirmed that he will not be helming superhero films anymore.

While speaking with YouTuber HugoDécrypte, when asked if he would direct “another superhero movie”, Nolan replied with a no. In addition to this, Nolan was also asked if he make a TV show, for which the filmmaker answered in negative as well.

It is to be noted that when Bale was asked if he would don the Batman cape once again, the actor was quoted as saying, “I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s make three films, if we’re lucky enough to get to do that.

And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long.’ In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’ And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.” Meanwhile, Nolan is awaiting the release of Oppenheimer, which stars Cillian Murphy.

  • Christian Bale was initially reluctant about accepting his ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ role

    By IANS

LOS ANGELES: ‘Batman’ star Christian Bale, who plays the villainous Gorr the God Butcher in the recently released film ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, was initially reluctant to accept the part because of the revealing clothing of the character and its muscularity, reports Entertainment Weekly.

As quoted by Entertainment Weekly, Bale told The Wrap magazine: “I did have a look briefly and said, ‘He’s got a G-string on. Nobody wants to see me like that’,” said the former Batman. “He was also crazy muscle bound in the comics. And I was in the middle of making another film where I was really quite skinny. I said, ‘Dude, nobody wants to see me in a G-string’.”

Bale, who is known for his radical body transformations, feels that he is no match to Chris Hemsworth (who plays the titular character in Thor: Love and Thunder) when it comes to muscularity.

“You can’t really compete with Chris (Hemsworth) when it comes to being muscular anyway,” Bale told Entertainment Weekly.

His hesitation led him to brainstorm a new concept for the character with director Taika Waititi a look that was less physically intimidating and more magically menacing. Bale wanted Gorr to resemble Nosferatu or the terrifying monster in Aphex Twin’s Come to Daddy video.

LOS ANGELES: Actor Harry Melling will feature alongside Hollywood star Christian Bale in filmmaker Scott Cooper’s upcoming directorial “The Pale Blue Eye”.

Melling is best known for starring in movies like “The Old Guard” and “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” as well as smash hit Netflix series “The Queen’s Gambit”.

The 32-year-old English actor will essay the younger version of 19th century novelist Edgar Allan Poe in the period murder mystery movie, reported Deadline.

“The Pale Blue Eye” is based on author Louis Bayard’s 2003 novel of the same title.

Thriller revolves around the attempt to solve a series of murders that took place in 1830 at the US Military Academy at West Point.

The movie marks a reunion between Bale and Cooper who previously worked on critically-acclaimed movies “Out of the Furnace” and “Hostiles”.

The duo will also produce the movie alongside John Lesher and Cross Creek’s Tyler Thompson.

Production is expected to commence later this year.

Melling will next feature alongside Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand in Joel Coen’s “The Tragedy of Macbeth”.

He will also star in indie movie “Please Baby Please”, opposite Andrea Riseborough, Demi Moore, and Karl Glusman.
