Bihar’s top administration convened a crucial video conference on Tuesday under Chief Secretary Prayas Amrit to scrutinize law enforcement strategies ahead of Holi. All district heads and police chiefs participated, focusing on seamless celebrations on March 3-4.

DGP Vinay Kumar laid down the law: airtight security protocols, zero tolerance for unauthorized DJ music, and swift penalties for rule-breakers. He mandated detailed training sessions for police personnel to sharpen their response capabilities.

Key measures include 24/7 readiness of anti-riot units, intensified checks at vulnerable spots via dedicated squads, and activation of emergency helplines like Dial 112. Medical facilities and firefighting teams are primed for any contingency.

ADGP Pankaj Darad flagged 20-odd communal incidents from last Holi, directing SPs and DMs in affected areas to stay extra vigilant. Mandatory peace committees at district levels aim to preempt tensions.

As colors fly and festivities begin, these stringent steps promise a safe, joyous Holi, balancing tradition with public order in Bihar’s diverse landscape.

Bihar’s administrative machinery received a major jolt on sports development as Chief Secretary Prayas Amrit led a crucial review of the Sports Department. With Sports Secretary Mahendra Kumar and top brass in attendance, the meeting laid down comprehensive guidelines to revamp the sector.

Security emerged as the top priority. Amrit mandated CCTV installations across every panchayat sports ground and open stadiums, aiming to plug vulnerabilities in the sports setup.

He pushed for a structured framework for sports clubs, insisting on systematic activation processes backed by ongoing evaluations from secretary-level inspections. This will establish a vigilant monitoring mechanism for scheme execution.

Grassroots accountability got a boost with instructions to tag district sports officers, government trainers, and PE teachers to each club, ensuring on-ground responsibility.

Procurement reforms were highlighted to promote fairness. Open calls for empanelling vendors will provide clubs with standardized, high-quality equipment, eliminating cartel-like practices.

The 27 Eklavya centers drew praise, with directives to operationalize pending ones promptly. Half marathon events are lined up for November and February, signaling vibrant community engagement ahead.

This proactive stance reflects the Nitish Kumar administration’s resolve to nurture a safe and equitable sports culture, empowering Bihar’s youth through structured athletic programs.
