  • Covid-19: UP govt makes face masks mandatory in public places in Lucknow, 6 districts

    Express News Service

LUCKNOW: In the wake of the re-emergence of Covid-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday made face masks compulsory in public places in the state capital Lucknow and six national capital region (NCR) districts.

The increase in Covid cases has had an impact on the districts falling under NCR. Keeping this in mind, the government has made use of masks compulsory in public places in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat as well as capital Lucknow, said an official spokesperson here.

In the last 24 hours, 65 new Covid cases have been confirmed in Gautam Buddh Nagar, 20 in Ghaziabad and 10 in Lucknow, the official said, adding that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered “close monitoring” of the situation.

The state figures have gone into three digits. In view of the improving COVID-19 situation, the Uttar Pradesh government had given relaxation in wearing face masks earlier this month.

Yogi Adityanath also directed the officials concerned to identify the unvaccinated people in the NCR districts and complete their vaccination at war footing. He also directed the respective district authorities to make optimum use of the public address system to make people aware of the latest situation and increasing Covid cases and ask them to follow Covid protocol.

According to health authorities, the genome sequencing of Covid inflicted persons has established the presence of Omicron variant in cases emerging in NCR. In UP, the total active cases are 695. Over 83,864 tests were conducted in the state during which 115 persons were found to be COVID positive.

    BHUBANESWAR:

The Odisha government has asked district administrations to remain ‘alert’ and urged people to ‘exercise caution.’

However, State Public Health director Dr Niranjan Mishra on Monday said though Odisha is still reporting cases of Covid-19, there is no need to panic as the number is negligible and the daily test positivity rate (TPR) has remained drastically low.

“There is no alarming situation in the State. New infections are being reported only from seven to eight districts in the State, that too in single digit. However, district administrations have been asked to keep a watch and take containment measures as per the need,” Mishra said.

The public health director, however, advised people to exercise caution wherever it is required to check the transmission.

He also said that the tests are being carried out as advised by the Indian Council of Medical Research. The fresh surge in Covid-19 cases has triggered apprehensions of another wave of thepandemic in the State. Mishra, however, said, “No new variant has been detected in the state and the situation is under control.”

Health officials said that even if there is any rise in the infections count, it would be less severe than during the third wave due to large-scale vaccination.

The State recorded 13 new cases in the last 24 hours. There, however, were no fatalities reported for the third consecutive day.

The new cases were reported from Sambalpur, Balasore, Balangir, Kendrapara, Khurda, Puri, and Sonepur.

A total of 18,886 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours in which the daily TPR remained 0.06 percent, health officials said.

They said the State now has 107 active cases. As many as 13 districts have zero Covid cases.

India registered 2,183 fresh infections and 214 deaths in the last 24 hours.

  • RLD chief promises 1 crore jobs for youth, 50 per cent quota for women in government jobs ahead of UP polls

    By PTI

LUCKNOW: Announcing its “22 resolves” for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary on Sunday promised to provide jobs to one crore youth and also cancel the three farm laws if voted to power in the state.

Chaudhary launched the election campaign of his party with the release of a manifesto for the UP polls early next year on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Taking a swipe at the BJP government in the state, he said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had promised to give 70 lakh jobs after taking oath in 2017 but “now as the term is ending, he is putting out hoardings that they have given four lakh jobs.”

“Our government will provide 1 crore jobs to prevent youth struggling to get employment,” he said.

Though there is no public announcement so far, the RLD is said to be in talks with the Samajwadi Party for a pre-poll alliance for the 2022 polls.

Chaudhary is leading RLD after the death of his father and former union minister Ajit Singh.

Chaudhary, whose party enjoys sizeable support in the farmers belt of western UP, said his government would increase the purchasing price of potatoes by 1.5 times and also promised to pay 1.5 times of the input cost to sugarcane farmers within 14 days of coming to power.

He promised to double the Rs 6,000 paid to farmers in three instalments every year under the Centre’s PM Kisan Samman scheme.

The RLD chief vowed to provide 50 per cent reservation to women in government jobs.

He also announced to do away with pending electricity dues and also halve the future power bills.

The RLD promised Rs 1 crore compensation to families of fallen soldiers and Rs 4 lakh for the kin of those who died to COVID-19 in UP.

  • Deputy speaker election in UP Assembly: SP MLA Nitin Agarwal files nomination with BJP support

    By PTI

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party MLA Nitin Agarwal filed his nomination on Sunday, October 17, 2021, for the Deputy Speaker’s post in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, with the ruling BJP indicating that it will support him.

The only other candidate in Monday’s deputy speaker election is Narendra Verma, who called himself the official nominee of the opposition SP.

After the polling, Uttar Pradesh will get its first Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly after a gap of over 14 years, a development taking place ahead of the 2022 assembly polls.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh were present at the time of filing of nomination by Nitin Agarwal.

Nitin Agarwal wore a blue-coloured ‘patka’ bearing ‘Jai Shri Ram’ at the time of his nomination.

His father and former UP minister Naresh Agarwal was also present.

“I have submitted four sets of nomination papers. Those who have proposed my name are Congress MLA from Harchandpur Rakesh Pratap Singh, BSP MLA from Purva Anil Singh, Cabinet ministers Suresh Khanna, Swami Prasad Maurya and Ashutosh Tandon, minister Chhatrapal Singh, and MLA Rajpal Verma,” Nitin Agarwal told PTI.

After filing the nomination papers, the MLA told PTI that he is yet to formally join the BJP.

On the other hand, SP nominee Narendra Verma accused the BJP of “twisting” the parliamentary traditions and said the post should go to the opposition.

“I am the SP candidate and the post of deputy speaker as per traditions goes to the principal opposition party. Hence, it should go to us. He (Nitin) is my younger brother. He won on a Samajwadi Party ticket and after winning the polls, he started working against the SP. Tradition wise, this post should go to the opposition, but the BJP is breaking and twisting the parliamentary traditions. We do not expect anything from the ruling party,” he said.

Verma was accompanied by Leader of Opposition in UP Assembly Ram Gobind Chaudhary and rebel BSP MLAs.

The two candidates filed their nomination papers at the UP Vidhan Bhavan on Sunday.

As per traditions, an MLA of the principal opposition party is made the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

The last Deputy Speaker of UP Legislative Assembly was the BJP’s Rajesh Agarwal, who was elected unopposed in 2004.

A three-time SP MLA from Hardoi, Nitin Agarwal said if elected as the deputy speaker of the assembly, he will discharge his duties as per provisions of the Constitution.

“The government’s priority is that everything should be transparent. My priority as a deputy speaker will be to ensure the same,” he said.

Principal Secretary of UP Vidhan Sabha Pradeep Dubey said voting will take place on Monday.

The BJP’s ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) has 9 MLAs, while the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party has 4 MLAs.

There are three independent MLAs, while there are two unattached MLAs.

The Rashtriya Lok Dal and the Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Apna Dal have one MLA each.

  • Editorial :- Leeching Ka Raajaneetikaran Kyon?

On the rise of Alwar Leaching in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State, Rajnath Singh gave an explanation. In spite of this Rahul Gandhi’s Congress has misread the politicization of it.
Earlier, Uddhav Thackeray had also criticized BJP saying that women in the country are insecure but you are saving cows. Similar reactions have also been expressed by Rahul Gandhi and Secular Media. At the time of the Bihar assembly elections, a similar issue was raised by vote bank politics.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has rightly said that the Modi government is trying to ensure that the people remain vigilant and the cow is also safe.
It is worth noting that the follower of Robert Clive, who started the abattoir in India, is the Congress of Rahul Gandhi. The result of that is that cows are being smuggled and litching is being encouraged. In Karnataka, there was a ban on cow-slaughter at the BJP government, but later it was removed from Congress, the government of Siddaramaayya lifted the ban on it.
PM Modi took 200 cows in the gift for Rwanda. One important program of the government of Rwanda, which means keep a cow. Through this scheme, many families have emerged from poverty alleviation in Rwanda.
If this is our plan, then we will start provincial governments of BJP, then Congress and so-called secular media ridicule him.
A large number of attacks are being organized on the death of Rakbir Khan in Alwar, but a mob of 22 years old Khetaram Bhal has been killed in Badmemar. This is not the act of provoking minorities?
Lok Sabha President Sumitra Mahajan also said that Leeching should not be politicized.
India TV Chairman Rajat Sharma also discussed this in his blog.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted that violence in place of humanity in his (Modi) brutal New India has taken it. Union minister Piyush Goyal tweeted on Rahul Gandhi, “You (Rahul) divide society for election benefits and then shed tears of bells. Now it is too much. You are the businessman of hatred. ”
In order to tackle the rising incidents of violence by the mob under the chairmanship of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the Center has constituted a Group of Ministers (Tusharu). Laws can also be made for incidents like leaching, but all this will take time. Therefore, the leaders of the political party should stop giving statements on this issue.
To tackle the rising incidents of violence by the mob, the Center has constituted a Group of Ministers (Tusharu).
For example, if a legislator says that there is a war against Gothsarkari and cow slaughter, then another leader should say that Hindus are Taliban and the third leader says that those who take the voice of cow protection are terrorists, then all such statements will be useless Give birth
Rahul Gandhi and his Congress and Secular Media, former UP MLC Bookkal Nawab, who has donated the money in the temple and said that doing so, they want to live peacefully in this world. Now Rahul Gandhi has to think about how they are Hindus, how are Shiva devotees, how are the Jnanavardis. They should remove their polymorphic form and show them the real form.
In the name of secularism in the country, leftist journalist and so-called intellectuals are adopting a double attitude. Which incident is a lobbying and what is not, it is being decided by seeing the religion. In the context of two different events occurring together in Rajasthan, it is clear that there is silence on any event that happened with the so-called secularist Hindus and if any incidents occur with any Muslim criminal, then it will raise the noise It seems like the leaching case in Alwar.
Regardless of the incidence of leaching, by whom also, separatism and religious frenzy should not be disseminated, but all should try to stop it.
