Amid swirling rumors and frustrated queues at fuel stations, Karnataka authorities have categorically denied any shortage of Auto LPG. The state government urged drivers on Wednesday to stay calm, dismissing baseless fears that threaten livelihoods.

Auto rickshaw operators in Bengaluru voiced grievances over erratic gas refills, with some waiting hours daily. This has fueled speculation of supply disruptions, hitting their income hard.

In response, the Civil Supplies Department highlighted robust supply chains. Official figures show consistent deliveries: 83 to 94 metric tons daily from April 2-6, averaging 83.58 tons. Major players including IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL are fully committed, countering dips from select private agencies.

“Supplies are sufficient; avoid panic buying,” the statement read, calling for disciplined station visits. Vigilant oversight ensures stability, with readiness for escalation.

Meanwhile, New Delhi rolled out revised LPG norms for industries. Secretary Mittal’s directive allocates 70% quota to industrial use, plus 10% bonus for PNG-adopting states. Key sectors get precedence, with caps on big users and mandatory PNG registrations for distributors.

Industries like steel and ceramics stand to gain, as quotas align with future consumption patterns through March 2026. This strategic pivot addresses broader energy challenges while stabilizing auto fuel in states like Karnataka.
