Central government is seeing ‘injustice’ in Chhattisgarh government’s ‘justice’ scheme. This thing has come out in a telephonic discussion between Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Union Food Minister Piyush Goyal. Due to this doubt, the Central Government has stopped the permission to deposit rice. With this, there is a shortage of space to keep paddy and rice from paddy procurement centers to rice mills. There is already a shortage of gunny bags. Due to this, the purchase of paddy in the state is being affected. Procurement has been stopped in three dozen centers, while in all other divisions except Bastar division, paddy procurement will have to be stopped next week.
This year about 21.5 million farmers have registered to sell paddy. The state government has set a target of purchasing 90 lakh tonnes of paddy, given the principle consent of 60 million tonnes of rice from the central government. Considering the number of farmers selling paddy and the increased target, paddy is being purchased in more than 2300 centers this year.
