Bobby Deol made a significant impact at the box office in 2023 with his role in the film ‘Animal’. He portrayed a villain, albeit for a brief period. Despite the limited screen time, Deol won over fans with his performance. The actor’s life and career trajectory were altered because of a photograph taken at a cricket match.

Deol debuted successfully with the film ‘Barsaat’ in 1995, and he subsequently appeared in films like ‘Soldier’ and ‘Gupt’. However, his career experienced a decline. He struggled in Bollywood for years, often being labeled as a flop actor. Nevertheless, a single photograph changed everything for him.

While Deol faced a series of unsuccessful films, he continued to work. Prior to ‘Animal’ and the ‘Aashram’ series, he had limited opportunities. He was seeking to regain his lost recognition, which the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’ provided. The film role came to him due to a picture taken during the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). During a match, Deol was seen with long hair and a beard. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga stated that he cast Deol in the film after seeing the photograph.

Vanga observed something compelling in Deol’s image. The actor’s eyes gave the impression that he wanted to convey something. Vanga was seeking a villain for his film, and this search ended with Deol’s cricket match photograph, and Vanga’s decision proved successful in theaters.

‘Animal’ earned over 900 crore rupees worldwide and became a blockbuster. Following its massive success, Deol received numerous project offers. He then appeared in the 350 crore film ‘Kanguva’. Moreover, reports indicate that he will be seen in a series directed by Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan. There are also reports that he will be a part of Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Alpha’.

Four notorious Naxals, including Yogendra Ganjhu, have been arrested in Jharkhand for allegedly demanding a ransom of one crore rupees from a Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) employee. The arrested Naxals are linked to the CPI (Maoist) Koyal-Shankh Zone Committee. Yogendra Ganjhu, also known as Pawan Ganjhu, is particularly infamous for his brutality. He is accused of planting a bomb in the body of a soldier after his death. A special team formed by Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha conducted a raid in the Buxy Bangla Chatti river area of the Khalari police station. The operation led to the arrest of Yogendra Ganjhu, Mukesh Ganjhu, Rajkumar Nahak, and Manu Ganjhu. Authorities recovered a loaded country-made pistol, three live cartridges, and other incriminating materials from their possession. The ransom demand was made on June 25, 2025, targeting a CCL employee working in the general manager’s office. Following the incident, the victim filed an FIR at the Khalari police station. Yogendra Ganjhu, a wanted criminal in numerous serious cases across several Jharkhand districts, had been a key figure. He is accused of planting a bomb in the body of a police jawan during an encounter in 2013 in the Katia forest area of Garu police station in Latehar. Pawan Ganjhu joined the organization in 2006 and became the area commander of the Garu-Saryu region. He became a sub-zonal commander in 2009. He was arrested in 2012 but later distanced himself from the organization. Due to financial difficulties, he rejoined the Naxal group and started extorting money from businessmen, contractors, and coal traders, which led to the recent ransom demand from the CCL employee.

A major accident occurred at the CCL Karma Project in the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. Several villagers entered the Karma project of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) in Kuju to engage in illegal mining. During this, a coal seam suddenly collapsed, resulting in the death of four villagers. Several other villagers were injured and trapped under the debris. Some of the injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment, with two reported to be in serious condition. The incident occurred while the villagers were attempting to steal coal from the Karma project. The collapse of a large section of the illegal mine trapped four people, leading to their deaths. Upon receiving information about the incident, villagers rushed to the scene and recovered three bodies. The deceased have been identified as Imtiaz, Rameswar Manjhi, Vakil Karmali, and Nirmal Munda.

Villagers are holding CCL management responsible for the entire incident, alleging negligence. They claim that the accident occurred due to the lack of proper boundary walls or fencing around the mine, which allowed easy access. The villagers have also accused the management of violating DGMS (Directorate General of Mines Safety) regulations. Relief and rescue operations have been initiated by the administration after the tragic accident. JCB machines are being used to clear the debris, and efforts are underway to rescue those trapped inside. Currently, four villagers have been confirmed dead due to the coal mine collapse, and there are reports of more villagers still trapped under the debris.
