LOS ANGELES: Hollywood star Cameron Diaz is coming out of retirement for “Back In Action”, a Netflix film with Jamie Foxx.

The project reunites Diaz and Foxx, who worked together on 1999’s sports drama “Any Given Sunday” and 2014’s “Annie” remake, which was Diaz’s final film role before “retiring”.

Foxx made the announcement on social media, where he posted audio of him, Diaz and NFL star Tom Brady talking.

“I don’t know how to do this, you know?” Diaz, who officially confirmed her retirement from Hollywood in 2018, says in the clip.

To which Brady says, “I was talking to Jamie, and he said you needed a few tips on how to un-retire. And I am relatively successful at un-retiring.”

Brady, who won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, had retired earlier this year but returned to the field just weeks later.

Foxx said he had to call in the GOAT, an acronym for ‘Greatest Of All Time’, to bring back another one.

“…@CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION – our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production starting later this year!!” the Oscar winner wrote in his tweet.

  • Cameron Diaz on ‘hardballing’ on relationship expectations

    By IANS

LOS ANGELES: Actress Cameron Diaz has talked of the virtues of “hardballing” during a sit-down chat with Drew Barrymore and Ross Matthews.

During an appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, Matthews said: “I have a girlfriend who kept saying, ‘These guys keep leaving me, they keep leaving me,’ (and), I go, ‘Well, what are the first dates like?’

“She said, ‘Well I ask them if they want kids.’ Girl, what are you doing on date one? You don’t ask if you want kids, you ask if you like pizza or the colour blue.”

Diaz replied by calling Matthews’ friend a “natural hardballer”, meaning someone who is clear about their expectations from the outset, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The actress added: “She is like, ‘This is what I want, are you in?’ So, she shouldn’t be looking at it that they are leaving her, she should be going, ‘You know what, you don’t add up to me, you’re not at my place,’ but that’s okay.”

“Then you at least know that we are not in the same place. And I think that’s what dating is all about.”

Matthews agreed with Diaz’s dating advice, saying that it’s important to “know what you want”.

Discussing his approach to love, he said: “I think it’s important to know what you want. And when you see it, hold onto it. And if you find something that’s not for you, don’t be afraid to move on.”

Diaz, who married Benji Madden in 2015, then offered another piece of relationship advice.

She said: “If the other person is not holding onto you, let go of them.”

  • Cameron Diaz opens up about stepping away from acting

    By ANI

WASHINGTON: During a sit-down interview with actor-comedian Kevin Hart on Thursday for his Peacock talk show, ‘Hart to Heart,’ Hollywood star Cameron Diaz opened up about how acting occupied much of her life which ultimately led her to take a step back and reevaluate everything.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “When you do something at a really high level for a long period of time, you’re the person who’s the talent, all parts of you that isn’t, that has to sort of be handed off to other people,” the 48-year-old explained.

She went on to explain that from the spotlight perspective, it’s as if she was “a machine” but for her “personal spiritual self” she realized when she was 40-years-old that the part of her that “functioned at a high level wasn’t enough.”

Diaz also reiterated that though she has a “love” for acting, there were “so many parts” of her life that she “wasn’t touching” and “wasn’t managing.”

“For me, I just really wanted to make my life manageable by me. My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself. It’s the best feeling,” she explained.

After embracing a more simplistic life rather than having “blinders on” and constantly feeling as if she was “going going going”, Diaz says, “I feel whole.”

She also said that during her time away from the spotlight she met her now-husband and has since started a family, “all those things I didn’t have time for before.”

Diaz married her husband Benji Madden in January 2015. Last year, the couple announced the birth of their daughter Raddix Madden.

Her last acting credit was in the 2014 remake of ‘Annie’, in which she starred as Miss Hannigan. Diaz also reflected about retiring from acting during a discussion with Gwyneth Paltrow for ‘In Goop Health’. She has since launched her own wine brand called Avaline.
