A significant incident occurred at the State-Tax Bhawan, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collection office in Hazaribagh. The dilapidated boundary wall on the back side of the building collapsed unexpectedly, raising safety concerns. The collapse happened in the rear section of the GST office, which is one of the important government offices in Hazaribagh city.

The wall crumbled amid intermittent rain. It is reported that the wall was old and in a state of disrepair. Despite this, no maintenance work had been carried out on the boundary wall for a long period. Bricks and plaster from the collapsed wall are falling to the ground.

Authorities have informed the Ranchi headquarters about the wall’s collapse, citing the dilapidated condition of the structure. The collapse of the boundary wall, which occurred during the initial rainfall, has heightened safety concerns within the State-Tax Bhawan premises. Numerous old vehicles are parked inside the premises.

There is a demand for the repair or reconstruction of the boundary wall, as the collapse has jeopardized the security of goods and other items stored in the vehicles that were seized by the authorities during checking and are kept in the premises.

A significant incident unfolded in Ahmedabad’s Ambavadi area when a water tank at a residential society unexpectedly collapsed. More than ten individuals were initially trapped in the aftermath. A swift rescue operation was initiated, leading to the safe extraction of all those affected. The collapse involved two water tanks, with a combined capacity of 2,000 liters, situated on the third floor of apartments near Azad Nagar Society. The incident occurred following heavy rainfall on Sunday. While the area was unoccupied at the time of the collapse, the falling debris caused damage. Security forces and local administration promptly responded, employing ladders to assist in the rescue. An elderly woman sustained an injury and received immediate medical attention. The situation is currently under control, and all trapped individuals have been confirmed safe. The Municipal Corporation’s Estate Department is expected to release a report soon, which will determine the future course of action, including potential repairs or demolition of the building. Residents have been temporarily relocated for safety assessments, raising concerns about apartment safety.
