French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu has resigned after just one month in office. Lecornu tendered his resignation following his failure to present a budget and navigate political gridlock. The Paris Stock Exchange experienced a 1.7 percent decline upon Lecornu’s resignation.

Lecornu’s resignation came merely hours after the cabinet was formed. Opposition parties had also filed a no-confidence motion against Lecornu in parliament, which he was unable to withstand.

Reportedly, a cabinet meeting was scheduled after the cabinet’s formation, but Lecornu resigned before the meeting commenced. He reportedly anticipated that he would not receive acceptance in parliament. To avoid embarrassment, he decided to resign.

Approximately one month ago, Macron appointed Lecornu as Prime Minister, but opposition parties began to protest his appointment. There were two primary reasons for the opposition to Lecornu.

1. In the 2024 general elections, no single party secured a majority. However, President Macron appointed his close associates to the Prime Minister’s position. In this context, France Bayrou was given the PM’s chair. At that time, Macron was accused of violating the constitution for his close associates. However, Bayrou did not remain in office for long. Lecornu was assigned the PM’s chair. Lecornu also failed to gain the confidence of the House.

2. France’s economic situation is quite poor. The government’s debt is constantly increasing. People are continuously protesting to end it. The government proposed budget cuts, which the people strongly opposed. Passing this budget from the House is not easy. Bayrou could not pass it. Now Lecornu has gone on the backfoot regarding this.

YouTube, owned by Google, has introduced a new Premium Lite subscription plan in India. Priced at just ₹89 per month, this plan offers users an ad-free viewing experience for most videos. However, features such as YouTube Music, downloads, and background play are not included.

The Premium Lite plan provides users with ad-free videos at an affordable price, compatible with various devices, including smartphones, laptops, and TVs. Despite its advantages, there are limitations. According to the company, ads will still appear on music content and Shorts, as well as during searches or browsing.

Compared to the standard YouTube Premium, which costs ₹149 per month, Premium Lite offers a more basic experience. While Premium Lite removes ads from videos, Premium subscribers enjoy additional features like YouTube Music, background play, and video downloads. This makes Premium Lite an economical choice for those solely seeking an ad-free viewing experience.

This plan is specifically designed for Indian viewers who desire to eliminate ads while watching videos without necessarily using music or additional features. YouTube believes this offering caters to the preferences and budget considerations of the Indian audience.

Smartphones have evolved into indispensable tools, serving as more than just communication devices. They are now essential for photography, entertainment, banking, and various work-related tasks. Therefore, selecting the right phone…

Smartphones have evolved into indispensable tools, serving as more than just communication devices. They are now essential for photography, entertainment, banking, and various work-related tasks. Therefore, selecting the right phone is crucial. If you’re planning to purchase a new mobile, it’s important to consider some key factors. Here are 5 essential things to check when buying a smartphone.

**Display Quality**
The better the phone’s display, the smoother the experience. AMOLED or OLED screens, a 120Hz refresh rate, and FHD+ resolution are standard today. Even if you’re buying a phone in the 10,000 to 15,000 range, these features are important to consider.

**Camera Setup**
Don’t just focus on megapixels when buying a phone. Features like the camera’s sensor, aperture, and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) matter more. If you’re a photography enthusiast, opt for a setup with telephoto and ultra-wide lenses. Also, pay attention to the selfie camera and its sensor.

**Set a Budget**
First, determine your budget. Phones are available in the market ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh. Choosing the right option based on your needs and pocket is most important. Select a phone according to your needs and budget.

**RAM and Storage**
At least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage are considered essential today. Moreover, if you’re buying a phone in the 20,000 segment, buy a phone with at least 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This will allow you to store more photos, videos, and apps on your phone, and the phone will not lag.

**Battery and Fast Charging**
Phones now come with fast charging, and a 5000mAh battery has become common. A phone with 65W or more fast charging support will save you from frequent charging. Also, if you use the phone a lot, you can also get a phone with more battery capacity.

**Operating System and Updates**
Make sure the phone comes with the latest version, such as Android 15 or iOS 18. Along with this, regular security and software updates for 3-4 years are necessary. If you’re buying a phone for more than 20-30 thousand, you should avoid buying one with 2 years of OS updates. Try to get at least 4 years of OS updates in the phone.

**5G and Build Quality**
In 2025, 5G has become an essential feature. Also, features like Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and eSIM support make the phone future-ready. Also, keep the design and sturdiness of the phone in mind. Glass or metal bodies give a premium feel. Also, a phone with IP67 or IP68 rating is protected from water and dust.

During the second day of the monsoon session in the Jharkhand Assembly, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore presented the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report. The report highlighted outstanding dues in the state’s revenue collection, a matter of concern for the government. The report revealed that as of March 31, 2024, outstanding revenue collection totaled ₹84.72 crore, with ₹38.91 crore overdue for more than five years. Within the Excise and Prohibition Department, ₹7.72 crore of the total outstanding amount was held up in courts and other appellate authorities. Revenue receipts during the fiscal year 2023-24 increased by 9.57% compared to the previous year but were 10.58% lower than the budget estimates. Revenue expenditure rose by 14.99%, yet it was ₹7,999.58 crore less than the budget estimates. A revenue surplus of ₹11,252.08 crore was recorded during this period. The state received ₹165.63 crore as Goods and Services Tax (GST) compensation during the fiscal year 2023-24. Amidst the presentation of the supplementary budget by the state government, the House witnessed an uproar. BJP MLAs Satyendra Nath Tiwari and Raj Sinha proposed a cut motion. Raj Sinha demanded a cut of ₹10, which the Speaker of the Assembly disallowed. Consequently, Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato adjourned the proceedings until 2 PM due to the opposition’s uproar. Earlier on Monday, the proceedings of the Jharkhand Assembly resumed at 12:30 PM. Upon resumption, opposition members again entered the well of the House and began protesting regarding the encounter of Surya Hansda. Members of the ruling party also joined in.

Apple is reportedly planning to release a more affordable MacBook, potentially easing the financial burden for potential customers. Sources suggest the upcoming MacBook could feature an A-series iPhone chipset. According…

Apple is reportedly planning to release a more affordable MacBook, potentially easing the financial burden for potential customers. Sources suggest the upcoming MacBook could feature an A-series iPhone chipset. According to a DigiTimes report, this budget-friendly MacBook may incorporate the A18 Pro processor, the same chip expected to be used in the iPhone 16 Pro. By using the A-series chipset instead of the M-series, Apple aims to reduce costs and make the MacBook accessible to a wider range of consumers, potentially pricing it around ₹50,000.

**Apple MacBook Price Expectations**
The anticipated price for the Apple A-series MacBook is expected to be around $599 (approximately ₹52,370) or $699 (approximately ₹61,113). If the upcoming MacBook is launched at this price, it would become the most affordable MacBook in Apple’s lineup. Current-generation M4 MacBook models currently start at ₹99,990. This marks the first time Apple is preparing to introduce a laptop at an economical price point in the mid-range segment.

**Strategies for Cost Reduction**
The report also details potential specifications, such as a 12.9-inch screen instead of the usual 13.6 inches. The use of an A-series chipset instead of an M-series, along with a smaller screen size, would contribute to the reduced cost. The upcoming MacBook could be offered in silver, blue, pink, and yellow colors. While the use of an iPhone chipset might seem like a downgrade, the A18 Pro is a powerful processor that outperforms the M1 chipset in benchmark tests. Apple is expected to optimize the A18 Pro for the MacBook, further enhancing performance. Consumers can expect similar long battery life, akin to the M-series devices, with this new affordable MacBook model.
