  • In this way, PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah bow to the soldiers

    On Tuesday, the Border Security Force is celebrating its 56th Foundation Day. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah have paid tribute to the brave soldiers of BSF via Twitter. Let us tell you that BSF came into existence on 1 December 1965. The BSF was established to secure international borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, “BSF has always carried out its motto ‘life-long duty’ with its valor and valor. Today, on the 56th Foundation Day of BSF, I bow to all the brave soldiers of the force for their service and dedication to the nation. India is proud of its ‘Border Security Force’.

    Defense Minister Rajnath Singh saluted the soldiers and said, “Best wishes to BSF jawans and their families on the foundation day of BSF.” The BSF is India’s first line of defense and plays an important role in protecting our borders. I salute their service and sacrifice in service to the nation. ‘

  • PM Modi greets Border Security Force on its raising day

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted the Border Security Force, which guards the country’s international border, on its raising day and said India is proud of it.  The BSF has distinguished itself as a valorous force, unwavering in its commitment to protecting the nation and assisting citizens during natural calamities, he said in a tweet. 

    The BSF was raised on this day in 1965 with a purpose to guard India’s international border with Pakistan and later with Bangladesh too when it became an independent country in 1971.

    BSF personnel have also been deployed in the past to deal with internal challenges, including in counter-terrorism operations in Kashmir. 

    In a tweet, the prime minister said, “Best wishes to all @BSF_India personnel and their families on the special occasion of their Raising Day. BSF has distinguished itself as a valorous force, unwavering in their commitment to protect the nation and assist citizens during natural calamities. India is proud of BSF!”

  • BSF officer killed, four others injured in blast inside BoP in Samba sector

    A senior BSF officer was killed in a blast under mysterious circumstances in one of the border outposts in Samba sector of Jammu frontier while four others received critical injuries, on Monday. The injured were immediately rushed to the military hospital in Jammu. BSF spokesman in Jammu confirmed, “one BSF officer was killed in a blast at a BoP in Samba sector on Monday”. The deceased officer was identified as Assistance Commandant Jabbar Singh.

    Two inspectors and two sub-inspectors received critical injuries in the blast.  Unconfirmed reports claimed,  during grenade practice inside BoP  one Assistant Commander, Jabbar Singh, was killed while four others were injured.

  • 6 BSF personnel injured in blast by Naxals in Chhattisgarh, firing underway

    Six jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) were on Wednesday injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Naxals exploded in Bijapur Ghati in Chhattisgarh. All the injured have been admitted to a hospital in Bijapur. Two of those injured are serious. Exchange of fire is still underway between security forces and Naxals. DIG-Anti-Naxal Operations P Sundarraj said that the situation is under control. The attack took place when the security teams were returning from election duty on Wednesday morning. The Naxals had placed the bombs which blasted when the teams crossed the area.
