  • Australian batsman doubtful to play in third test match also

Australian left-handed opener David Warner is yet to recover from his injury, which makes him doubtful to play in the third Test of the ongoing four-Test series between India and Australia. Warner was actually injured while fielding in the second match of the three-match ODI series against India, after which he was ruled out of the third ODI and the three-match T20 series and did not fully recover from the injury. Both were out of the first Test matches. In the absence of Warner, the Australian team is facing trouble in the opening.

Australian coach Justin Langer shared information about Warner’s injury on Sunday, saying, “We saw Warner doing batting practice. Warner also batted in the MCG this afternoon and he is doing well in batting practice, but there is still problem in his muscles. We know how much the team will benefit from his presence. “In the absence of Warner, the Australian team has failed to form a major partnership in terms of openings, which the coaches are very disappointed with.

Coach Langer said, “We are unable to catch the match. If you look at the first Test and the first innings of this match, then we have failed to form a partnership. We have to improve a lot in this matter. “Langer said in an interview with Ricky Ponting,” No one can be more professional than Warner and he is doing everything he can to overcome the injury. He said that the Australian team is not able to score much in their innings, due to which the bowlers have to work harder.

He said, “Warner is running between the wickets and we hope that he will recover soon but only time will tell when he will be fine.” We still have a few days to go for the start of the third Test match. “The third Test match between India and Australia is to start in Sydney on January 7.

  • Tight bowling by Indian bowlers, bowled Australia for 195 runs

Australian batsmen succumbed to the bowling of R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj and after winning the toss, the Australian team could score only 195 runs in the first innings on the first day of the Boxing Day Test match. Apart from Marnus Labuschen, no other batsman faced an Indian attack. Labushen scored the most 48 runs. Apart from him, Travis Head scored an innings of 38 runs.

Team India started brilliantly and stopped Australia for 195 runs in 72.3 overs. Jaspreet Bumrah took four wickets for 56 runs with an economy of 3.50. While Ashwin took 3 wickets for 35 runs with an economy of 1.46. Debut match Mohammed Siraj took 2 wickets for 40 runs with an economy of 2.67.

Indian bowlers dominated the match from the very beginning. India had given Australia three big shocks on 65 runs in the opening session. In the absence of Virat Kohli, with the efficient captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, who captained the team, India dominated the pitch taking turn and bounce in the first session. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Joe Burns in the fifth over, whose poor form continued and he could not even open the account. After Bumrah’s ball, he caught Rishabh Pant behind the wicket. After this, in the 11th over, Ashwin sent Matthew Wade to the pavilion. Wade scored 30 runs off 39 balls. One over after this, Ashwin took a big wicket in the form of Steve Smith. Smith could not even open the account and he caught a catch in leg lane to new vice-captain Cheteshwar Pujara.

  • Kohli Fans Hit Back at Sunil Gavaskar for Hinting at Bias in Indian Cricket Team

The debate around Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s decision to return home after the first Test match against Australia to attend the birth of his and Bollywood actor and wife Anushka Sharma’s first child once again heated up on social media after veteran cricketer-turned-commentator Sunil Gavaskar penned a column in Sportstar.

Indicating that there’s a divide in the Indian cricket team, Gavaskar said that bowlers like Ravichandran Ashwin are sidelined if they do not pick “heaps of wickets” in a game while the established batsmen in the team have it easy and are awarded chances upon chances despite their failure.

The veteran opener added that the newcomer T Natarajan was “forced” to stay back as a net bowler after the birth of his daughter following his brilliant performances in the limited-overs cricket.

  • There are different rules for different players in Indian team: Sunil Gavaskar

Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has said that treatment meted out to bowlers like R Ashwin and T Natarajan is biased as there are “different rules for different players”.
The former India opener said that Ashwin has suffered within the Indian team because of his forthrightness. He also took a dig at the India skipper Virat Kohli, who got permission to leave the tour of Australia to attend the birth of his child, while T Natarajan who became a father during the IPL playoffs is yet to see his daughter.

“For far too long Ashwin has suffered not for his bowling ability of which only the churlish will have doubts, but for his forthrightness and speaking his mind at meetings where most others just nod even if they don’t agree,” Gavaskar wrote in his column for Sportstar.

“Any other country would welcome a bowler who has more than 350 Test wickets and not to forget four Test match centuries, too. However, if Ashwin doesn’t take heaps of wickets in one game he is invariably sidelined for the next one. That does not happen to established batsmen though. Even if they fail in one game they get another chance and another and another but for Ashwin the rules seem to be different,” he added.

  • Australia has to bear the brunt of taking Ashwin lightly: Potting

Former Australia captain Ricky Potting has said that the Australian team has had to bear the brunt of taking Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the second day of the Adelaide Test.

Many people raised questions on Ravichandran Ashwin’s inclusion in the playing XI. But this off-spinner, showing his ability, put the Australian batsmen in trouble on the second day of the Adelaide Test match. He made Australia’s star batsman Steven Smith walk on a single. After that Ashwin broke the back of Australian batting by sending Travis Head and Cameron Green to the pavilion.

Ricky Pontig told Channel 7, “The Australian batsmen appeared to be trying to attack Ashwin strongly. I think he took Ashwin lightly. The batsmen tried to keep the scoreboard in motion and their stakes backfired. “

Ashwin had taken three wickets till the end. Former Australian veteran bowler Glenn McGrath was not impressed with his team’s batting. He told Sony Sports, “Today, the batsmen should be very defensive. He was waiting for a bad ball to play pressure on the bowlers. He should have put a little more pressure on the bowlers. Indian bowlers managed to bowl at the places they wanted and kept getting wickets. “

  • Pink-ball lessons for India bowlers in draw

India couldn’t force a tour match victory at Sydney on Sunday, though that’s not what they were chasing. With the visitors as well as Australia having dumped the idea of playing their virtual Test elevens in the warm-up tie, it became all about maximising the takeaways.

Although India’s struggle for wickets once the pink ball got soft during the day is something they may want to learn from, they did tick many boxes in their quest to be best prepared for the opening Test starting in Adelaide on Thursday.

Australia A finally offered some batting resistance in the form of Ben McDermott (107*), Alex Carey (58) and Jack Wildermuth (111*) to reach 307/4 in their second innings. Having run through the batting in a single session under lights on Day 1, the Indian bowlers wouldn’t be too unhappy to be subjected to the kind of grind they should be prepared for come the real test.

Before settling for a draw, Mohammed Shami delivered two powerful punches to Australia’s Test preparations. Joe Burns and Marcus Harris, picked by Australian selectors to open at Adelaide, fell in Shami’s opening burst.

  • Marcus Harris drafted into injury-hit Australia squad

Opening batsman Marcus Harris has been called into Australia’s first test squad as the hosts count the cost of a number of injuries ahead of the first test against India in Adelaide.

David Warner had already been ruled out of the squad after he suffered a groin injury in the one-day series, while Will Pucovski suffered a concussion after he was hit in the head while batting for Australia A against the tourists.

“Given the spate of injuries in recent weeks, we’re fortunate to be able to bring a player of Marcus’ calibre into the test squad,” national selector Trevor Hohns said in a statement on Saturday.

“Marcus has been in outstanding form for Victoria this season and has had the benefit of facing India’s bowlers in both three-day tour matches.

“At the same time, we are disappointed for David and Will that they will not be available for the first test.

  • Bad news for Australia, David Warner out of first test

There is bad news for Australia, who lost the T20 series to India. Like the T20 series, the hosts may miss their veteran opener David Warner in the Test series. Cricket Australia has admitted that Warner will not be able to play in the first Test match against India. While this may be bad news for David Warner’s fans and Australia, it is a relief news for the Indian team.

The first Test between India and Australia will be played in Adelaide from 17 December. Australia will have to field a new opening pair if Warner is not there. Indian bowlers can get benefit of this. Warner and Smith were not in the host team when the Indian team went to Australia for the Test series last time. India took advantage of this and won the series.

David Warner himself has also given information about his injury. He has said that he is recovering fast and can play in the second Test match to be held in Melbourne. Warner said, ‘I think I have recovered fast in a short time. I am working hard to be fully fit. The injury has been cured to a great extent. But I believe that till I am 100% satisfied myself, it will not be right to get on the field.

David Warner said, ‘100% fit means running between wickets and being fit in the field. I feel that I am not able to play fully fit now. There will be a difference in about 10 days. ”The second Test between India and Australia will be played from 26 November. Warner can return to the team from that match.

  • T Natarajan Terms Maiden Outing With Team India As “Dream Come True Moment”

India  fast-bowler T Natarajan took to social media on Wednesday to thank his teammates for their constant support and encouragement after India won the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series on Tuesday. In the three-match T20I series, Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers and finished the three games as the leading wicket-taker across both sides.  He picked up six wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.91 in the three matches in his first T20I series.

  • Will maintain this rhythm of victory even further: Virat

After winning the last match of the ODI series against Australia, Indian team captain Virat Kohli said on Wednesday that he is happy with the performance of the team and he hopes that the team will carry this rhythm forward. Although the Indian team lost the series 1-2, but for the last match, Virat made a change in the team which benefited and the team managed to win the last ODI.

Virat said after the match, “We were under pressure during Australia’s batting. With the arrival of Shubman and other new players, there was some freshness in the final match. The pitch for this match was better for bowlers. Face it We did well in the ball and fielding. I am happy with the performance of the team and hope that the team will carry the same rhythm in the future. “

Virat said about his batting and the performance of Jadeja and Pandya, “I wanted to take my innings forward and spend time on the pitch. Pandya and Jadeja had a great partnership. The team needed similar encouragement and especially when you are playing in front of a team like Australia. “Now the three-match T20 series between the two teams will begin on December 4 with the first match in Canberra. After the first match, both teams will return to Sydney where the second and third matches will be played on 6 and 8 December.
