Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state officials and district presidents met on Wednesday. In the virtual meeting of the BJYM, many important topics were discussed under the guidelines and service only organization program met with the central leadership. In the meeting, BJYM state president Amit Sahu, state in-charge and BJP spokesperson Anurag Singhdev and co-in-charge and BJP state minister OP Chaudhary gave necessary directions to the officials and district presidents. BJYM District President Vijay Motwani said that the workers will donate blood on May 29 under the service organization. State media in-charge of BJYM Umesh Ghormode told that in the meeting it has been decided that under the service organization program of BJP central leadership and the completion of 7 years tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Central government, BJYM workers donated blood on May 29 across the state do. The BJYM workers will carry forward the goal of the organization itself with a resolve to serve through blood donation camps in all the districts. Amit Sahu said that BJYM workers have taken up the task of doing charity work like donating blood, this is the good fortune of all of us. Under the service organization program, all of us have to increase this task of human service throughout the state. On 29 May, he called for all the district presidents, state officials and BJYM activists to organize blood donation camps in all the districts of the state and donate blood in large numbers.

SC issues notice to Centre over guidelines banning transgenders from donating blood

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the Central government and other parties after hearing a Public Intrest Litigation (PIL) challenging the constitutional validity of Section 12 and 51 of Blood Donor guidelines, 2017, which has imposed a blanket ban on transgender persons from donating blood.A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde, issued notice to the government after hearing a petition filed by T Santa Singh.
The petitioner had moved the Apex Court challenging the current rules of the 2017 guidelines, which barred transgender persons from donating blood.
“We issue a notice to the respondents, and we will see their replies,” the bench led by CJI Bobde said.
The PIL filed by Santa Singh, before the Supreme Court has challenged the constitutional validity of section 12 and 51 of Blood Donor guidelines 2017, and sought a stay on the rule.
“These are medical matters. We don’t understand these issues,” the CJI Bobde, said, but, however, issued a notice to the Central government and sought its detailed replies in the issue.
The Supreme Court refused to stay the present blood donor guidelines and added that it would not pass orders without understanding the issue.

Successful organization of voluntary blood donation camp on World AIDS Day
On 01 December, on the occasion of “World AIDS Day”, HIV / AIDS Safety and Rescue Counseling Camp and Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized at District Hospital Gariaband. The main objective of the camp is to make people aware of HIV / AIDS protection and safety. The theme of World AIDS Day 2020 is “Global Solidarity – Shared Responsibility” and to emphasize the importance of regular voluntary blood donation by eligible blood donors to facilitate blood collection in the district and to meet the needs of the needy. Blood donation was done by a total of 11 blood donors in the blood donation camp, in which blood donation was done by Dr. Jai Patel, MD Medicine, Dr. Prashant Ratray Medical Officer, nursing college students and other donors. ADM Mr. JR. Chaurasia, Edison SP Mr. Sukhanandan Rathore was present and encouraged the blood donors and all blood donors were given certificates.

Spreading word on blood donation 1 step at a time
Thirty-three-year-old Kiran Verma has a goal in life: to decrease the number of deaths due to blood shortage to Zero by 2025 . For this, he is voluntarily travelling 15,000 km across India, Nepal, and Bhutan to encourage and spread awareness about blood donation. Verma, who founded ‘Simply Blood’-a blood donation platform- reached the state capital on Wednesday.
Talking to the media, Verma said his journey began from Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Jan 26 this year. Till now, he has travelled more than 8,500-km- which includes 3,000 km by walking- in last 3 months.Verma added that every day more than 12,000 people die in India due to lack of availability of blood and his mission is to encourage at least 10 people every kilometre to take a pledge to donate blood at least once in their life. If this happens, he claimed, then his 15,000-km journey is going to save at least 1,50,000 potential lives through blood donation.
“I started ‘Simply Blood’ when my own blood was sold to a poor family in Delhi. I left my job and took this as my goal- to decrease the number of deaths due to blood shortage to Zero by 2025. My life’s mission is to save 1 million lives through blood donation by 2020 using ‘Simply Blood’ platform,” he said, adding that ‘Simply Blood’ is world’s first virtual blood donation platform and first social media platform, an initiative by Change With One Foundation.
Jain said that he has spread his message among more than 7,00,000 people across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and now in Chhattisgarh. In the coming days, he is planning to visit all states and all union territories.
