    By ANI

WASHINGOTN: Singer Blake Shelton is all set to release a new single titled ‘Come Back as a Country Boy’, which will be an ode to his roots and people of the same upbringing.

As per People magazine, the upcoming single, written by HARDY, Josh Thompson and Jordan Schmidt, is the first of many new tracks that will be featured on the deluxe edition of Shelton’s ‘Body Language’ album coming out on December 3.

The hitmaker opened up about the single and said, “I think this song is an anthem for everyday hardworking country people out there.”

He added, “We have so much pride in who we are and what we do that, if we ever died and got the chance to live life over again, we probably wouldn’t do it if we couldn’t be country.”

In addition to the release of ‘Come Back as a Country Boy’, the deluxe version of ‘Body Language’ will be available for pre-order on Friday.

The hit album included a duet between Shelton and his wife Gwen Stefani titled ‘Happy Anywhere’. The track, released in July 2020, topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart — making it Stefani’s second chart-topping country song.

The couple shot the music video of ‘Happy Anywhere’ in Oklahoma, where they later got married on July 3, 2021.

“There was a camera shooting the things we do every day,” Shelton told People magazine of the video in July 2020.

“We make biscuits, fish, sing together, spend time with family … just a day in life,” he added.

Shelton headlined Music City’s Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on September 9. But before the show, the couple joined Shelton’s record label group Warner Music Nashville, BMI and a small, exclusive group of songwriters and publishers for an outdoor event to recognise the chart-topping success of Stefani and Shelton’s duets ‘Nobody But You’ and ‘Happy Anywhere’.

  • Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani get hitched in intimate wedding ceremony

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: It’s confirmed! Eight months after getting engaged, singers Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have officially walked down the aisle and said their ‘I Dos’ in an intimate ceremony.

According to Page Six, the two got hitched on Saturday at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, where sources previously revealed to the outlet that he had built a chapel with the intention of marrying Stefani there.

The couple had their nuptials in a small intimate ceremony at a church built on the estate.

The paparazzi also spotted Stefani’s parents Dennis Stefani and Patty Flynn, guests and musicians boarding a luxury people carrier to take them to Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Oklahoma wedding.

The wedding news came three days after People magazine reported that the much-in-love duo has applied for a marriage license in Oklahoma, the country where marriage licenses are valid for up to 10 days after the date of issuance.

The singers met at the sets of ‘The Voice’ in 2015, where the couple bonded over their recent divorces- Shelton from Miranda Lambert and Stefani from Gavin Rossdale.

In July 2015, Shelton filed for divorce from Miranda Lambert, his second wife, after four years of marriage. Then, just weeks later, Stefani and Gavin Rossdale shocked fans by calling it quits after 13 years of marriage and three children.

The duo started dating in 2015- a few months after their divorces and made their relationship official in 2016 by walking their first red carpets as a pair. The couple got engaged in October 2020.

Meanwhile, during the last year, the two spent their entire quarantines together and even teamed up for ‘Happy Anywhere’ in January 2020 and ‘Nobody but You’ in July of that same year.

In October, Shelton popped up the big question to Stefani. Taking to their Instagram handles, the couple shared a photo featuring themselves kissing each other as Stefani showed off her stunning ring.

As per People magazine, Shelton asked the question “at his ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where the pair spent most of the lockdown during the pandemic,” and have finally got married at the same place.

  • Blake Shelton faces backlash over new song ‘Minimum Wage’

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: American singer-songwriter Blake Shelton faced backlash for debuting a song titled ‘Minimum Wage’ while people in America continue to struggle amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Page Six, the 44-year-old singer debuted the new single on NBC’s New Year’s Eve television special alongside Carson Daly to help ring in 2021. The country singer told the host that his fiancee, Gwen Stefani, helped get her brother, Todd, to direct the video.

The artist’s new song has to do with his love for the 51-year-old ‘Hollaback Girl’ singer and contains a lyric in the chorus that upset many people who saw the broadcast.

“Girl, your love can make a man feel rich on minimum wage.”

As reported by Page Six, given the fact that the coronavirus pandemic has caused many businesses to shut down and put countless Americans out of work, people were quick to take to Twitter to criticise the singer for releasing a song they believed was “tone deaf” given the current climate.

“The irony of listening to a millionaire Blake Shelton singing about ‘love on minimum wage’ at the end of 2020 might be lost on its target audience,” one user wrote.

“I love his music but the timing for Minimum Wage isn’t great. With so many people out of work and struggling the song feels a little tone deaf. I’d like to hear songs that are more personal. Wish he wrote more of his own stuff because he’s an incredible song writer,” another wrote in a tweet that was unavailable as of Sunday (local time).

Someone else agreed, writing: “Does anyone else find Blake Shelton’s “Minimum Wage” song to be incredibly tone deaf to our country’s current state?”

“What!? @blakeshelton is #MinimumWage even for real? Yes of course @gwenstefani can make a dude on minimum wage feel rich cuz she’s a millionaire. Are you working at the Home Depot now or something? Wanna pay my rent?” someone else concluded.

As per Page Six, the song has not yet been fully released and Shelton has yet to publicly comment on the backlash on social media.
